The fun has just begun! CONGRATULATIONS
-
I usually mix mine with Glaceau vitamin water (10 calories), over ice. Makes it not taste so strong!

Ok time to get honest about protein

I drink these same bullets but I "cut" mine with glaceau low cal vitamin water - it's only 10 calories and 4 g carbs! Straight up they are waaaaay too sweet!! -

As for your Water intake, I would just look at my pee. If it's clear, then I think you are hydrated enough. I am not drinking a lot of water, but I ice all my Protein shakes and ice my bullets and my pee is clearer than it's ever been. The Dr. said if that's the case than I am ok. The problem is when it's darker or cloudy. Good Luck!:thumbup1: -
It's a lot easier to lose the weight than to be IGNORANT. You WILL lose the weight, but I doubt if this kid will EVER lose his ignorance. Once you're at your goal (which won't be that long I'm sure) you won't even think about that dumb comment. Now, chin up....full speed ahead!!!!

No More weight coming off...and bummed
meowmeow replied to AJW's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wow, and here I was thinking I was the only one at a stall! The scale FINALLY budged today 1.5lbs. I'm almost 3 weeks out (Monday) and feeling frustrated too. However, my husband was on a business trip all week and when he got home last night he said I looked a LOT thinner, especially in my face and stomach! Those darn scales, I think theirs a little guy in their laughing at us! -
Hi There, I've heard conflicting theories about the 30grams of protein thing. I have a friend who is an Olympian Gold Medalist and he said it's a myth. I've researched it and seen both sides of the debate. Confusing isn't it?

At my TJ's they have chocolate and vanilla cream, I pour it over ice and add some cinammon to the vanilla creme. I also found some Banana and Chocolate Cookie at Linbergh Nutrition by the same maker, WORLDWIDE. Enjoy. If you add a scoop of protein powder to it in the blender you would get a good whollup of protein and it would be thicker. I do that sometimes, I can crank that protein up to 60 grams!!! I also use these "bullets" that are 42 grams of liquid protein I pour 1/4-1/2 in a glass of ice then pur vitamin water (10 calories from Target) on top of it and sip that over crushed ice. Good Luck!

Hi, I don't know where you live, but I get these cans of protein shakes that have 35grams of protein and only 2 carbs from Trader Joe's in California. so I usually have one for breakfast and another later in the day (70 grams), ,then I have some s/f pudding with skim milk and that's 15 grams and then chicken/beef/wonton broth. I just wish I would start losing more weight!:svengo:Good Luck, when do you get to go to mushies?
-
Yeah!!!!!! Good for You.....that's like what...a 5 year old?! lol :-)

Has anyone experienced a "fuzzy tongue"? I'm on mt first day of full liquids and my tongue feels weird. It's like cat hair on it! Also it's white vs pink help!!!!
-
Tiffy, that's so fantastic! Good for you :-))))

I got super sick last night and today. It's really hard to swallow, kindof like strep throat. I use to get it a lot when I was a "kid". I think the stress of everything finally is catching up to me. It's been one week since I had VSG. I'm wrapped up in VICKS and hoping that by tomorrow, I can finally get on some full liquids.

Wow! What an accomplishment, makes me glad I did it! Keep us posted, thanks for your inspiration *** -
Oh..I see, I'm still on my 1st week of CLEAR LIQUIDS. No cream soups allowed for me. I ordered WONTON Soup, then strained all the wontons, etc. out. It was delicious! I'm making homemade chicken broth right now...leeks, carrots, celery, etc. then strain that. I hate canned stuff .. too much sodium :-( I found some liquid protein, clear, it tastes horrendous, but at least I can do that for the next 3-4 days. How did you figure "one week"? From the actual day of surgery or after you got out of hospital and could do icechips?
-
How is everyone getting their PROTIEN on Full Liquids? I do chicken/beef broth, but that's only 2grams.

I didn't tell a soul either, I knew the reactions wouldn't be positive! I've started to tell people I've been dieting for this wedding next week. Then, that will be my excuse, saying it went so well, I stayed on it. Sewing a little seed for now....hehehehe I KNOW for a FACT I will have some "friends" very angry when I get back down to the weight I was for many years. They liked it when there was no competition and they had something "over" me. Same thing happened when my Mom lost 140lbs, a couple of her heavy friends stopped calling. I guess it's like when you stop drinking and others continue to want to party. It's too bad. HOPE YOU FEEL BETTER!!!!
-
Congratulations! Glad you made it and are home now safe and sound. Everytime i see food on the tv, which is like every single commercial, especially after 5pm, I have to switch it ASAP!! My husband always saying, hey, what happened to the show we were watching??!?!??!

Interesting article on the emotional reactions to bariatric surgery
meowmeow replied to AJW's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thank you for that article! I was telling my husband that some things were going to have to change, and it didn't mean I don't love him, but I needed more space. I think I gained 60lbs in 6 years, to somehow create my own "space" but in a very unhealthy manner. He didn't like hearing it at first, but after going thru this he realized that was one of the things I suppressed and he agreed with me, even though he's not going to like it at first. He will learn a little space is good ....happy wife, happy life :-))) -
My experience for you newbies
meowmeow replied to Nanna509's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Great story, it's so important to share, so we all don't feel alone on this journey. Everything went great for me until I got home and had to bathe my dirty kitten and blow dry him (long haired persian) and our hot water heater broke this morning. Besides that....life is good :-))) Keep up the good work! -
I know they say drink sugar free stuff, but anything with sucralose, or aspartame bloats me like crazy. I'm now 5 days post-op and drinking diluted apple juice/juices , no sugar added popsicles and low sodium broths. Yeah....we did it!!!!

10 days post op with a SHORT fuse!
meowmeow replied to AJW's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
PV was terrific! We have spent time there over the years and are comfortable with the area. We have friends who own condos there and have restaurants. The Dr and Staff were so efficient and very likable. Things got done very quickly, unlike a US hospital. There wasn't so much red tape and forms, etc. I had a GREAT surgery, no complications. The Dr. even visited me at my hotel, after my 3 days (2 nites) in the hospital. Very good experience! I even went down to the pool the day after I got out, didn't swim, but layed by the waterfall under an umbrella. All in all...A++++ -

Whew..am I glad I'm not the only one. I just got back from Mexico last night and the airport was INSANE. Customs took like 2 hours to get through and then another 45mins to exit LAX. Crazy!!! I was losing it, and I had just been patting myself on the back for staying so cool, calm and collected all through the surgery. God help us all :-) -
Something Else is Missing...
meowmeow replied to I Can and I Will's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi Cheri, i had mine done on the 17th and am just getting back on the computer. i'm still in mexico. hope you are feeling better, my only problem was too much liquid vicodin. i don't even take aspirin, so any drugs affect me negatively. i layed out at the pool today, obviously under an umbrella. just a little tired, but feeling better, lost another 7 lbs. just taking the liquids slowly is the key! hope you are feeling better
