  1. Hi Amy,

Haven't been on for a while. My surgery was okay--hurt alot more than I expected and I ended up being out of work a 3rd week cause I was so exhausted. But things are going great now. I have really started to lose-have had 2 fills and now feel a restriction. How bout you? Beza

    March 31st, Anyone else?

Well I felt better reading all the posts--looks like I am not the only one having a pretty slow recovery period. I am finally back at work today--one week later than scheduled. And I continue to feel very tired. As far as exercise I managed on circuit around my condo complex once last week--about a 1/2 mile. My goal is to get up to 2 circuits 3X per week. Any one losing weight? Once the edema from surgery left I have lost about 8 pounds since surgery. I need to add one of those trackers--they look so cool on posts. Hope everyone is doing well......Beza

    March 31st, Anyone else?

So how active are you all? This is so much slower than I expected. So far have only been able to walk around house to get what I need. I have been up for an hour now at the computer which is the longest since surgery. Anybody else gain weight after surgery like I did? Luckily I was on narcotics so my responce to the 12 pounds up was only "whatever", All but one pound of that has gone away and my feet no longer look like sausages. Is everyone else on the full liquid diet as well?

I am looking forward to hearing how the rest are doing.

    March 31st, Anyone else?

Hi--can I join your group?--my date is tomorrow morning , the 30th at 8 AM. It is nine PM now and I am looking at the clock every 10 minutes. I am excitied mostly and looking forward to FINALLY getting on with it. Good Luck to all the 31st bandsters--see you on the other side.
  6. Just heard from my surgeon today--My insurance approved the surgery and I got my date--March 31. Took months to get to this point and the last part is going VERY quickly. Have to start my liquid diet this weekend. But I am ready and so glad I do not have to wait till May as I originally thought.:tt2: Anyone else for the 31st?
  7. Hi May bandsters---I am also hoping to be banded in May. My paper work is at the insurance company (Tricare Prime) and I am expecting to hear any day. This process took so much longer than I had anticipated, but maybe that is a good thing. Gave me plenty of time for soul-searching and positive self-talk about how I can make a committment to this. I have a question for you--what % of your weight is your doctor telling you to expect to lose?. Each visit I have at my bariatric center (Cleveland Clinic) they seem to emphasize keeping my expectations "modest" meaning 40-60% of the weight I need to lose. I was surprised at this--you would think they would want to emphasize the % of folks who lose the whole amount. I am 61 and decided to do this because of HTN, prediabetes, and arthritis--I want an active retirement and having a BMI of 47 makes that so much more difficult. Looks like our group has two dates already set--May 20th and May 28th--I hope to join you soon
  8. Hello to all the present and future lap-banders, This is my first post though I have been reading others for about 2 months now while I went through the decision and learning process about lap band surgery. I got my medical clearance today along with my first nutrition visit. Now I feel like this is really going to happen. I have to wait 5 weeks to see the surgeon with the psych vist in between so it looks like surgery will be in about 2 months. Any suggestions on how to make this time go smoother would be appreciated. My emotions vary between mild anxiety to sweet anticipation and I do feel as if I am on a bit of a roller coaster. Thanks, Beza
