Time released medications can't be dissolved or cut in half. I took my meds with water and swallowed them with no problem. Call your MD and see if that's OK. If not, you'll need another Rx. Do NOT risk letting your BP get too high!

We need more men!

First of all, I am older than WASA and it's not fair that your TOM hardly happens. LOL. My TOM of the month came to an end this AM and the restriction seems a tad less. I'm going to see if others experience this and watch for posts.

LOL... love the BM comment! I am not a protein junkie and have some for lunch or dinner or both. My blood work results are all fine and I feel good. I don't have roasted veggies everyday but I enjoy them and will have just that for lunch on occasion. Fresh fruits are great... 17 cherries is >80 calories is filling, healthy, and has fiber.

I am finding that sticking to 3 meals a day seems to be the way to go for me. In actuality, I can't each much for breakfast because the coffee and vitamins/medications fill me up. My three meals tend to be lunch, dinner, and a fresh fruit snack. I'm down a little over 20 pounds so it's working. LOL.

Dr. Daniel Huacuz - Tiajuana, Mexico
Elisabethsew replied to adeebaby's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Thank God you made it through that hell and lived to tell about it. Huacuz is a butcher and I have not heard anything good about him. It's surgeons (and I use the term loosely) like him who give Mexican surgeons a bad reputation. I hope you know that by sharing your story, you're saving a lot of lives. Stay away from Huacuz if you value your life. Also, don't go to a clinic! It's important to have surgery in a hospital with a certified surgeon and ICU capabilities. -
Is it just me or does anyone really care about Kate & Jon and their brood of kids? Why are they in the news? The ones I feel sorry for are the kids. The money that the family gets for their "reality" show goes to the parents. NOTHING goes into a trust for the kids who, in my opinion, are being exploited for greed. I have never watched the show but am constantly seeing these people in the news and on magazine covers. Sad!

EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW... I'm glad I just went without any protein those first 5 days.

I needed to laugh... loving it!

Today, they have her in a green bikini vacationing someplace with the kids and without the hussband. She must have had a tummy tuck.

I would kill for Michelle Obama's arms. LOL.

Down on Myself and Emotional Eating
Elisabethsew replied to DownInSocal's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Slimfast has a LOT of carbs and that's what's keeping you hungry. The pre-op diet I had to do for a week was limited to 30g carbs/day. I could have all the lean meat, chicken, etc., I wanted and was not hungry at all and lost about 8-9 pounds. Remember to keep it low fat so take the skin off the turkey and chicken and select lean cuts of meat. Post-op is a whole different story. You don't FEEL hungry and you don't want to eat. The hunger hormone is cut out. You CAN do this so don't get down. Post what you eat here daily and we'll help you get that date. Read labels and lose the carbs STAT. -
Yes, have sex first! LMAO!

The bottle is 50 calories and that saved me when I was working a 13 hour shift on clear liquids. Once I went to a soft diet, I no longer needed it.

Thank you for sharing. You're doing great and I look forward to hearing more as move closer to goal.

You ARE a success story! Congratulations on getting to goal!

From Couch to Triathlete - A Sleeve Story

You've already proven you can do whatever you set your mind to so I have no doubt you'll do Kona. Reading your blog and now this post convinced me not to wait until the spring to have my knee replacements surgery. I'm doing it in early Sept. and will complete the rehab and use THAT as my starting point to see where I can go. I might not be able to do all you did/do, but I sure will be able to much more than I can now. -
Unlike you, Kate has an army of nannies so she can go off on speaking engagements promoting her books. I never saw the show so I have no idea how she talks to the hubby. As for the octomom, whomever the MD was that implanted her with all those fertilized eggs should be strung up!

Your know darn well we ladies WILL be checking out what happens in this room. I suspect you men will lurk in the powder room as well! LOL. Shhhhhhh... he's sleeping. LOL.

The band and the sleeve are both restrictive procedures. Anything that can get by the band (candy, ice-cream, cookies, etc) can also get down a sleeved stomach. It IS all about good choices. It's also about learning new ways to cope and not turning to food.
-
I push myself and recover quickly. If you work 12-13 hour shifts, schedule one shift with a day off after it. That way you'll know if you can handle it. I was a little tired but did fine.

They have 3 pools at the hotel. Yes, I did go outside and also went to the pharmacy on the corner by the ER entrance. This is where they bring you for pre-op testing. The first day in the hospital you meet with the medical MD, the anesthesiologist, the assistant surgeon (Campos), and Dr. Aceves. You get 2 pills pre-op and then fall asleep. They tell you when you're going to the OR, recovery room, and then back to your room. The second day I was up walking around, showered, and watched a little TV but mostly checked online to see how my students were doing. Day three you have the final leak test and are given your OR report, your chest x-ray, and your post surgery films to take home along with a 2 week supply of Nexium and some Toradol.
