Hi bombero,You have done great 137lbs in less then a year,I can only hope to do as well.But i will give it my best.My surgery is on the 26th of January:smile:How long did you have diabetes before you had surgery?I was told that if you had it for 10 years or more before surgery that you might not have your diabetes improve.ANY one have a problem with getting off diabetes meds? The upper GI is no problem,there is no pain and that means its OK too me.I also like chai T BUT i was a diet pepsi addict and to my surprise it was not as bad as i felt like it would be,but i hate to give it up:cursing: Kerry

Hi to all,I'm new to the January bandsters sight with a January 26th date.I was set to have surgery on December the 8th,I was at the hospital with IV in and i went in to atrial fibrillation and the Dr. was afraid to take me in to surgery because of it.The Dr. wanted me to to see the Cardiology again before we try again.Long story short,I saw the Cardiology Monday and she said that i will always have a-fib and she will tell the Dr. what to do if i do it again.I was very let down because of this,and a part of me was scared to try it again because WHAT if it happened again?But the Cardiology put me at ease when she told me it is not a problem to have surgery with a-fib you just need to know what to do if it happens again.SOOOO January bandsters, you are my new family,and i cant wait to get to know all of you,and to share all of our ups and downs.And to see how good we will look by next Christmas.:laugh: So now i have to go threw the 2 week fast again before surgery.Last time i lost 15lbs:thumbup:I guess that wont hurt me any Kerry

Wow my insurance came threw for me:thumbup:and my surgery will go on as planned,December 8thMONDAY,i have to be in the hospital by 6:30 and surgery is at 7:30 and i will have to stay over night at the hospital.So far Ive done everything the Dr said to the teeeeee,I was to lose 30lbs before he would do surgery on me -had to have my bmi below 50 I'm on my 12th day on my fast of protein shakes,sf jello and plain broth now that is going a lot better then i felt like it would but when you eat less then 700 cals a day you lack energy:thumbs_down:well anyway so far i have lost 36lbs wow if i could just keep going like this i would not need the lap-band bbbbbbbut we all know it is not that easy-Right if it was we would be thin and healthy well anyway wish me luck---is anyone going in the same day as me? Thanks apple,i will try all your ideas.I only like chicken and a lot of people say they have a hard time with chicken,and that has me concerned.This should help keep it moist.Kerry
