Just found out today, during a 5hour class we had for those of use that are to be banned in December,that my date has been changed from the 9th to the 8th.:eek:I still have ,as of today 12lbs to get off.I now eat 1 meal a day and 2 protein shakes . Before surgery I have to be on liq- for 2 weeks,SOOOO NO TURKEY FOR ME this year:glare:But my Christmas will be better:smile: Kerry

Hi to all, I have a December 9 date:scared2: I'm still trying to lose the weight the Dr. wants me to lose,30 lbs.I have 13 to go.Since i can put weight on fast,but take it off slow:angry: To day i started doing one meal with a protein shake[EAS Advant EDGE CARB CONTROL] IT HAS 17 G of protein. ,it was very good.BUT, THE TRICK is you must drink it over a 30min and that is hard for me because in the past I ate fast ,I guess we will all have to learn to eat slower,and chew,chew,and chew:smile: Kerry

Hi Sadlergirl4, I like your Christmas gift,the gift that keeps on giving.I am also going to have my LBS.Dec 9 if all goes well.The Dr. wants me to shed 30lbs and I am working very hard at it .I'll hit the gym tomorrow and that's where Ill weigh my self,Can not keep a scale in my home because,it drives me nuts if i get on and find a gain,so once a week at the gym,for me!!! Have you completed all your testing? I also have been over weight my entire adult life and then some. You will get a lot of help here and support,so keep reading,and learning.oh also Happy Birthday. I guess what I might be looking for is Liquid protein/amino acids a concentrated liquid(usually honey consistency) a 1 oz. is around 15grams of protein and I guess you either drink the 1 oz?or add it to a shake? Also Flowers where do you get the sf syrups? Kerry

Hi,to all can anybody help me with Liquid protein? I was told to get some to help me get my 65 grams per day. Do i add it to my shakes ? or just drink it? Has anyone used this item,and can help me? I have not had my surgery yet but i need to find this item before i do,so i'm ready when the doctor is.Also fruit flavored drinks? and shakes?any body have any ideas that could help me:confused::cursing::confused::wink: Kerry

You know,I'm not sure but when i saw the Dr.OCT.9 he said 1 or 2 months?Ithink it might be a bit longer then that because the cardiology can't see me until Nov.12 Ihave to see her and have a DSE.DONE????Still not sure what that is.But i have Atrial Fibrillation,so i hope that doesn,t keep me from getting the LBS? Has anyone had surgery [LB] AND have A fib???:cry_smile:Well it's very cold and windy in Kansas to day and DH AND i have to hit the gym,i want to get their and back before the snow hits:sad_smile:Kerry

Iguess I don't have to have a sleep study,because i had one about 4 years ago and all was OK! SO i hope that test stands,because i would HATE:angry:TO do it again.Im getting ready to go see the dietitian today.take care Kerry

Maggies,no it has not been submitted yet I still have a few more test to go threw.Idid do a upperGI,I HAVE my first appt. with the dietitian,I' m not sure what she can tell me about food that I dont no??:grouphug:.I also have to see my Cardiology,and have a DSE. TEST run,I'm not sure what that test intails,but I guess I'll find out Nov12th.I ALSO had my first pysch evaluation and my Dr. not tricare required this ,and Istill have one more appt.Iguess.Itold them my daughter lives in Ca. and she is in her last year of college to become a shrink.does that count:wink_smile:long storie short I still had to go:thumbdown:Tricare did tell me ,once they get the paper work it would take 4 to 5 days:smile2:O WELL I cant wait till Ihave a date.I think?????Kerry

Maggies, I also have Tricare and right now I'm still in the prosess of getting all my test done.To make Tricare and the Doctor happy.Did you have to go threw a 6 month diet plan for tricare? WHY did tricare denie you?WELL good luck Nov.05:thumbup:I sure hope I dont have your problems with Tricare,but I have a lot more weight to lose then you do,so maybe that will help them to say YES!:biggrin: Kerry

Sunshine531,thanks for your reply:So your Dr.did not require a psyco exam ,so its not a tricare thing.Well it must be a good way for the hospital to get more money.I was told it takes 2 appts.1 short one and one with paper work on my part.I think that is fill in the circles ,test.I to have diabetes and hi-BP all under control with meds.and i also have atrial fibritlation,so i have to see the cardiology and have a DSE run on me ?I guess i don't know what that test is?has any one ,had to do one? I had my upper G.I. done this morning,and that was the first one for me.Anyway,still working on that 30lbs

Hi to all.I am new to the 50& over gang. And ,I ,hope to be LB soon .Over the past month I have been a guest to this sight.Reading and taking notes and learing from you all.I did have my first Dr.app.Thursday,I also had blood work run,and tomorrow I am having a upper GI .The Dr.also wants me to lose 30# be fore surgery,wow I didnt see that one coming:ohmy::biggrin: I hope I dont have trouble with my insurance,Tricare does pay if I have at least 2 problems from being overweight.The Dr. claims that I have more then 2,so this should be the easy test to pass. I was told it would,or should take 2 months to get a surgery date,if all goes well.Right now my problem is how am I going to lose 30# in 2 months ??????.:thumbup:
