ttbseffy replied to willbethin's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
OK people, Im Fairly new here and not banded....yet. But I have done alot of reading here and value everyones opinion. May not agree with everyonem but value it anyway. This is a forum, Right? for people to share, gather info, and vent not attack. I sent a message privately to Willbethin telling her this, and that I valued what she had to say and that I was sending it privately due to not wanting to ruffle anyones feathers, or get any rude responses. I asked for the info on what doctor here in the states would do the surgery for what the Mexico surgeons would because I would like to research him to see if he would be an option for me. I was asked to post my question here and would get a response. Thanks D -
Im fairly new here and have been watching this thread for any other Montanians. Where do you live? My insurance doesnt cover the band so I am going to Mexico. I have narrowed my search to three doctors and am now trying to line out aftercare and fills here in Montana or close by. I live in Kalispell (NW most corner). Let me know how your search is going and what your plans are. I would locve to here from you. D:)

Do I weigh enough to do this?
ttbseffy replied to AngieHH's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Angie HH My situation is similar to yours. Because of my height my BMI is only 31. I have been unable to loose the weight and just gain more as each year passes. I completely sympathize with you!! Some people here wont...I thought I was stupid for even considering it after some responses I got from people, but its your body, your health, and your money!! So do the research, think about it, talk about it and make your decision!! I have made mine to go with Dr. Rodriguez in Mexico. His staff is really helpful and easy to talk with. I hope to be banded by the end of June...Im in the process of getting funds together! Good luck to you!! ttbseffy -
Even if you get the lap band surgeries outside the US? would it still be deductible? THanks ttbseffy

Please help me find a decent low fat butter...
ttbseffy replied to Iziksmom's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I vote for SMART BALANCE. Great taste and NON Hydrogenated....no trans fatty acids! -
Sherri, Go to your local health food/natural food store (not a GNC) and tell them the requirements that you want to meet. They are a wealth of info and will be able to help you find what you are looking for and needing. Good luck! NOt banded YET...but on the road!

fiveholts? What doctor is that with? What does that include? Are you pleased with the service you had? Thanks ttbseffy

KSBANDER What insurance do you have? We have alot of the same comorbidities. How long did it take for you to get approval from your ins? I dont currently have any insurance and was planning on purchasing a plan. It would be great to have insurance pay for this but Im kinda use to the fact that I will prob have to be self pay. What state do you live in? I currently live in NW Montana but plan on moving to Missouri by the end of summer. Thanks for your post and I lool forward to hearing from you!

ttbseffy replied to ttbseffy's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Thanks to all of you for the great advice and the support!! I was begining to think I was out of line for coming here to consider this as an option. I know that this is not an easy way out but only a tool to help me get to a healthier weight and Hopefully maintan it. Im really going to be working on this hard the next few months....hopefully I can make plans to have this done by the end of summer if not sooner. I currently live in NW Montana but our family is relocating to Springfield Missouri area in 9 weeks. Not as remote as were we are now, so hopefully it wont be hard to find a doctor for fills. I will be going out of the states for this, so any suggestions and advice about this would be great! I'm so excited to get this started!! I see the light at the end of the tunnel!!:ban: -
Thanks to everyone for the info!! Ravensriches....I feel the same way!! I just want to feel good again. I want to be able to do things with my kids without getting so tired and out of breath so quickly! Im going to check into the Doctor in Mexico that you suggested and see what they can tell me. Do you mind telling me how much it cost? ttbseffy

Hello everyone. Im 35 (almost 36) been overweight for 8+ years and am considering lap band. Im currently 220 but my weight yo-yos between here and 280, 5 10 and my BMI is 31.6. Is there a doctor anywhere that would do this surgery? I have lower back issues due to my (done lapped over) belly, sleep apnea, borderline diabetic, and getting to the point I hate going out in public because of people asking when Im due and Im not even pregnant! Has anyone had an experience or knows of someone who has had this surgery with a low BMI? Thanks!! ttbseffy
