That makes sense ... so many people at once, my speed is ridiculous I don't even know why my husband is a techy, but you are right perhaps that is it so many people posting maybe it's hard to moderate all of that activity ... one chat is mega busy while the other one is a ghost town ... that you so much for responding. -

You are on your way! I went to my Nutrition appt at Rancho, but Chapman for procedure, my insurance pays for it, just wish the office person (to remain nameless argghhhh!!!) would get my paper work in correctly. The first submission was incomplete so my auth was denied, now they have supposedly submitted again but nothing has happened yet, so I am stuck in limbo waiting for my auth that could have been finished last week if all of my info was sent. I think they treat cash patients better than insurance patients because they get more money in hand. If I could pay cash I would love to just it over with, but I really don't want the debt if I can avoid it. If this takes long and I end up going cash, I will make some changes on a few things. -
Im cool, just not sure if I should start liquids on the 27th because my auth hasn't gone through yet. Cool for you starting your diet, I have tried the low to no carbs before and it works well and fast, definitely takes commitment though, how do you feel?

Yes, I did choose Dr. Owens, and I have completed all of the requirements, just waith for authorization now. I have a Tentative surgery date of Jan. 9th. How has your office staff and doctor experience been? -
Mexican food is a weakness for me too, but you will do great and you will lose more than 15lbs I bet! I am so happy for you Patty, CONGRATULATIONS! You are on you way, that is a blessing, you go Patty! Stay in touch .

I went from telling everyone because they see my size now and they will see me decrease ... to now only telling immediate family (husband, children & best sisterfriend). I have heard the comments of people a work and some of others I have encountered in social arenas, and it seems the WLS is a hot topic and I honestly just don't want that much attention. I will be seeking support with persons who are on the same journey through groups and engage in the websites. Perhaps in time, my perception will change, but right now this is the best way for me to protect my focus and not be distracted from my goals. There is enough emotional and mental energy just going through the steps for me with all of the various hats I wear daily. It is truly a personal decision that can move, grow, & change, as we go through this process. -
LoL - I am looking forward to seeing what I choose too, I wonder if liqufied Gumbo is allowed . LoL ! What a crazy time of year to liquify!

Oprah Speaks for Millions

It is great to have a forum where we can all share our thoughts on things, and honestly we are not very different from a talk show host, are we? We say what we want, post what we want, share what we want, keep private what we want, boast and celebrate as we choose, we give advice even though we aren't experts. Are we any different than Dr. Phil & Oprah, perhaps in popularity and finances only. However, thanks to this great site we host our own shows and many times "pushing our opinions on the lapband world as if we hold all the answers". I don't watch either show, but I do celebrate with those who do and are helped by them and by this site and our ability to support and share here & most of all our gift of choice to watch or read what we like. It seems rather futile to harbor ill feelings for people who are driving in their own lanes, giving people what they have to offer, sounds like exactly what all of the good people here do daily. -
Thanks, once my date is confirmed, I start 2wks liquid on 12-27-08. That is going to be challenging the 1st few days I think.

It would be great if we all could extend the same grace and consideration to Oprah that we want extended to us. It seems that Oprah is not the one who says she is wonderful, it is the people watching her. It seems that she is just as human as everyone, only she can't hide behind a username and post pictures when she is ready. Oprah will deal with herself, I don't watch the show or read the mag, but apparently she is doing something right and her weight issue is just that, her issue, I hope she finds whtever she needs to have it not be an issue. Hopefully, those persons who chose to respond in the negative would consider their heavy days in public, and respond in a more compassionate way. Try gaining your weight back pre band, post those photos, then perhaps you can have a bit of an idea how she may feel. It is like the big person always being funny first, she has to say it before someone else says it on their show. Much respect to everyone's thoughts and posts :rolleyes2: -
I think I am beginning to get the hang of it, still a work in progress ... I tried to call my doctors office and they were closed .. arrggghhh I wanted to know if my auth came back, I was too busy at work to call now the whole dang weekend!

I am still learning these groups and messages, you know how it all works, but I love the info and the interaction with people who really get it, you know? As for the 45lbs in 2 months! Oh my goodness, I hope that I am as successful - 45lbs would make such a big difference for me! By the way ... your page is looking cute!

I am cool, just waiting for my auth to go through! It is so frustrating waiting waiting and waiting ... even though I am super clear on the process, I still want it over like yesterday...
