I am a patient of Dr. Miles and scheduled for surgery on November 17th. I have three days left of my 14 day sleep study and will go to the nutrition class either on October 29th or November 5th. When I was approved for the surgery about two weeks ago I contacted Kristen to tell her I was approved she said she would email me everything that I needed to do between now and surgery but I have not heard anything back from her. I guess I am just impatient and not sure what to expect. Those that have already been through all this let me know what to expect in the few weeks between now and my surgery. When will they call me to do the pre-op and when do I receive the access code to the realize band website? Thanks everyone for your help.

New to posting but been reading and researching the forums for quite some time. I began my journey with the supervised weight loss program in January and had went to a seminar in June. My first appointment with the surgeon was in August. I had my sleep study, psych eval and nutritional consult in September. My insurance was approved on Oct 6th, only 3 days after the request was submitted(Highmark BCBS). I have a surgery date scheduled for November 17th with Dr. Miles at St. Vincent's East in Birmingham, AL.

I live in Alabama but have Highmark BCBS through U.S. Steel. The precertification request was sent in on Oct. 3rd and was approved on Oct 6th. My surgery is set for November 17th. As long as you follow the requirements of the insurance company you should have no problems.
