    Funky Tastes!

I wonder if there is a scientific reason for the change in taste and smell. I know I had it. I quit telling people what I was smelling because they thought I was crazy. My nose was so sensitive to smells. Before surgery, I liked protein shakes for breakfast. I liked most of them and after surgery, I could not stand any of them. I am glad to see I am not the only one. I had surgery July 10th, the smells are back to normal, but I still don't like the protein drinks.

    Zone Protein Bars

GNC has quest bars. I am not crazy about them. I think I will try the celebrate bars. Thanks, Getting There.

    Sooo Sick Of Protein Shakes!

I think we have all been there. At least I have and have heard others say the same thing. You are almost there, not much longer, just know you are not alone. There is not much more you can do to make the shakes taste better. I have tried a lot of protein shakes and to me none of them are tasty. Eggface does have some recipes for icecream made with them that is pretty good for a change. You might look there for other recipe. Good luck.

9 Month Follow-Up Appt Was Today...

Yipee !!! Size 12 skinny jeans, pretty neat. Good for you.
  9. I had revision surgery on 7/10.12. I have lost 42lbs and am so glad to have that band out. I had it all done in one procedure. My surgeon is excellent and does lots of them. Every surgeon is different. Knowing what I know now, I would have never had the band. The sleeve surgery is a major surgery, no getting around that, but when you are over it, you are able to eat most anything in very small amt. without getting sick or sliming. It is so nice. Good luck to you.

    The Food Porn Problem

Yeah it is kinda like that for me. I am still very interested in food, but it is like a disconnect when it comes to eating it. I still like to look at all the cooking sites and even cook food, but I am only able to eat a few bites of anything. Which is a good thing and I don't have the desire to eat lush hi fat desserts any more. So far anyways, lol, my surgery was July 10th.
  15. Sheree, I don't know about the above info., but I had surgery on July 10 and my blood sugar has remained stable. Fasting in the low 100's. I have been diabetic for about 10 yrs. and it is going to take more weight loss to get mine to budge. I just have to keep checking it every day or so to see if it goes down. I am still on the same diabetic meds that I was on before surgery. I would love to be able to stop them, but so far it is not happening.
