Me too. Looks like a winner. Hope it works out. This is the first time I have seen or heard of this device, -
Mine is perfectly located (so far) between bra line and the navel slightly to the right. Not in the way or under belt or bra line.

What food stage are you at? What are you eating?
bmooney364 replied to Carriedaway78's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I have been taking 6oz fat free milk and adding 2tsp SF Chocolate or low sugar Strawberry quick with one scoop of unflavored unjury protein powder . Umm alternative to thick shakes. Lunch to go tuna. 20 gms of protein. I like it. -
I got my lapband on May 15th and have the same problem that you have. Uck. I had read some other posts that said to just take the pills, if they are not hugh. My surgeon's nurse said to crush everything. I am taking most of mine whole and splitting the really big ones. So far no problem. They go down with a drink of water for each pill. Hopefully I will be off some of them by the time I get a fill. My pcp was not much help. He went down the list and said yeah try crushing them and advised me to check with the pharmacist. I know extended and long release should not be crushed. I am on a ton of pills and will be so glad to get rid of most of them. Good luck to you.

Is it just me or does all food smell absolutely wonderful . My husband heated up a can of chicken noodle soup for himself and it smelled so good. He cooked a bacon and egg breakfast for himself and I thoght I would pass out. I haven't wanted to really eat any of it, so far, I am satisfied to just smell it. I eat a few sf pops jello, decaf coffee with sf creamer, if I want something. This really seems to help me I have three small ,1/4-1/2 cup meals and up to 3 snacks daily and so far( thank you Jesus) I have been satisfied. I have lost about 10lbs since surgery and it is so nice to see the scales move in the right direction for a change.I just hope the magic lasts. Good luck to you.

When will I feel normal again??????
bmooney364 replied to castle1976's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I feel for you. I felt like I was trying to sit up or lay down with a large filled balloon for a upper belly. I had my band on May 15 and started feeling fairly normal about 10 days later. I was really sick with diarrhea this past Sat. I think I was still having problems with the protein shake. What helped me more than anything was the gasX strips. I am off of the pain meds for several days now. Good luck to you and you may want to try the gasX if you have not already.:bored:I got to start mushies officially Monday Ya hoo. -
I wae reading an old post by you about your diabetes. How is that going now? The post was from 2007. I got my band on May 13 2009 and am struggling with all the meds. I was told to crush everything but that did not work with the extended and substained released. I am splitting them. It is such a bummer due to I am on so many and now it is twice the amount. I am looking forward to being off all of them. That will be a great day. Thanks for listening.

I had a lot of diarrhea and called the nutritiionist because I think that it is the protein shakes. I am diabetic and use the low sugar. He told me to change to the regular, not low sugar ,because the sugar alcohol causes some people to have diarrhea. I did this and no more problem. Thank god. The sugar content is not that much greater and my blood sugars, so far are stable.

Um next week I start mushies. I will do turkey chili in magic bullet like device, thanks.

bmooney364 replied to CyndiMomto3's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My post op appt was Thursday. I saw the surgeon for maybe a minute. All was well and yeah ,I get to start mushies next week. Only downer we are vacationing in beautiful ,sunny ,Galveston Tx. next week, and I am not allowed to get in the water. I was so looking forward to the heated swimming pool, hot tub and Schliterbaum, but the surgeon said no because risk of infection. I will make up for it next year.I go back for f/u visit in 2 wks. good luck to all. -
Still sleeping off and on in the recliner. I went through one day, about day 4, that I was so uncomfortable. Seems like my abdomen was just a big hugh hard ballon that I could not sit or lay comfortably with. I took gas x strips and pain med but took a long time to be comfortable enough to sleep. Standing up sleepimg was not an option. Seems like a long time ago, now that I am on day 8 and having much less pain. Good luck.

Surprise. :rolleyes2: I thought I`would be the last to post. Right now is the first time since Friday that I have felt like looking at the computer. Went to the out patient surgery center at 6 am. Surgery at 730. All went well. It was 1230 before I noticed I was still alive.:thumbup:The nurses were great. I was glad to go home and get away from the every 10 min medicine cups of water. I came home about 230. I felt pretty good Fri pm, but yesterday was rough. I mostly took my tylenol 3 liquid and slept. I had terrible gas pain. My abdomin looks like frankenstine all bruised and long suture looking lines.:huh2:Hopefully today will be a new day, because I was not able to do the protein or hydration yesterday and I know that is important. Hope all other Friday the15th surgeries are well. My pain is a 4 this morning. That is tolerable for me. Just took my ty;enol so hopefully will be better soon.

Thanks for the report on the unjury. I will order the unflavored before my surgery. I ordered some of the other flavors and they were great. I think the unflavored will be great to add to other foods to up the protein.I also ordered some lean dessert (protein supplement) from vitacost. I ordered the fresh cinnamon roll and vanilla. It is delic. I would drink it even if I didn't need the protein.

Congrats. Hallelujah, I am so glad things went well. I was looking forward to seeing your story today. Mine will be next Friday. I hope by that by that time I won't be nervous either. Right now I am a little queasy. I have all the preop appointments to look forward to starting Monday. They seemed to wait until the last min. Oh well after all this time I am just glad the time is finally here. Good luck to you and keep us posted.

I am 53 and have surgery scheduled for May 15th. I was much younger when I started the process. LOL Took forever to get it together and get insurance approval. I was a little concerned aboout my age, but seems that is not a big problem. I hope. Good luck to you. -
I tried Body Fortress in a shaker container and found it to be very gritty. I will try it in a blender to see if it helps the grit. It tastes pretty good. I ordered some samples of the unjury that is advertised on this site. It is very yummy and not gritty. They also have unflavored, and a chicken soup. I also tried choc. strawberry and vanilla. They were all to my taste. Slimfast, Adkins, and Boost low sugar are delicious, but I can not tolerate them as they cause me to have diarrhea. Thanks to all who have given valuable info regarding these protein drinks. It saves me lots of money not buying and trying any that are uck.

Sherri, I have a surgery date of May 15. I also hope and pray to be rid of my diabetes.I take actomet and glyburide. Seems like lapband is very helpful for diabetics. Lets keep our fingers crossed.
