I hear you sister I am in the very same position June 14 I will be 3 year out and I still am back to my old weight. My fills are exactly as you describe. I don't even have any anymore because what for they don't work for me. I am so disappointed.

Yes, I have been denied follow up care here. They keep sending papers and papers with no no no, I'm very frustated with them, although I did hear that they provide a patient advocate on the phone. I don't know but I feel frustrated too. I'm going to have to deal with this tooth and nail. This is after I have told them I have already had the surgery and all I want is aftercare here. I know someone who gets aftercare and has Pacificare but I don't know if she is a PPO.:guess Sunflower

Oh, I see, yes I do not like phentermine, another combination is Chromium Picolate it is natural and does not make you feel shaky 200mg. is good and you can find this in any health food store also there is also a kola nut pill and several natural supplements that work much like Phentermine. Not telling you what to do just sharing and believe I'm in the slow looser club myself. I guess we'll both hang in there for now. Somebody also shared a awesome website idiet4u.com it has several familiar diets we can try too. Good luck as I need too! Although looks like your progress is great!:clap2:

Just go to TJ and go to the pharmacy they will give you any perscription you want but you will pay the price, but it is still cheaper than US without insurance.

SleepyJean, If you don't mind can you tell me how many mg. you take? I take 300 and I still feel some depression and I am wondering if that is not enough for me. I did have a hysterectomy in March of o5 and I have only lost 15 pounds since my surgery in 6/05 the worst part is that I take Meridia 15mg. too and exercise. I'm really taking the regimen very seriously and have really been paying attention to real hunger pains. I just have to keep trying and never give up at least I'm 15 down and none up but I would love to be at least 50lbs like all my friend in even less time than me. Don't feel bad just keep me going thanks for your informations. Sunflower-someday I'll be one!

I am on it and have never had any problems with my band or the dosage of 300mg time release. The appetite thing well, I'd have to stop taking it so I could tell because I have not really paid much attention to that and have not really lost a lot of weight either since the band or the medicine but I am not gaining. I also had a hysterectomy, the doctors seem to think this may have something to do with it. I don't know I just keep going.

Can you guys tell me how much Dr. Ortiz charges for fills done undoer flouro? I'm curious.
-
Seppi, my mom gets acid reflux really bad-she is not banded- the only thing that helps her Protonix it is by perscription and is expensive. I have not had an issue with reflux at all. My friend however had to have her band removed because her reflux was so bad she couldn't even sleep laying straight down at night and it became unberable. Hope you can get Protonix soon.

This is so right about not pushing that stuck feeling, I to am guilty of this and I know I'm suppose to stop but I have such a hard time. It would be nice to have a little support team for this too. sunflower

Wow, some of these prices and stories are amazing and extreme. I have a 10cc band and have had little luck with it. Only 13 in a year. There are doctors in TJ that do fills under flouroscopy for less than 200.00. In the states there is a Fill Clinic USa you can join for 300.00 intial consult includes fill and consult of Doctor who takes patients from Mexico. After the initial your fill in US are 155.00 and you may travel to any fill clinic across America, though they are not done under fluro, I had one done and let me tell you it was very different from fluro, which I prefer. I am going back to the doctor soon because at first I felt restriction but now its much less. They do give you 76 hours to report on your fill whether it is too much or too little -mine unfortunately felt right for those 76 hours- so I am waiting to have another fill not for a few months. Meanwhile,I'm just trying to keep it together myself. If I had my choice I would choose the Flouro no doubt. It took about 1/2 hour without flouro and with flouro it is about 10 minutes at the most.

What an awesome link Funny Duddy thank you for sharing this with us. I hope you do well with your band, I've heard that the Inamed band works much better than Obtech or Johnson and Johnson band. Whatever you do stay on your liquid diet that really does seem to set the pace. Again just wanted to thank you for the link. Sunflower

Pouch Packing - When Enough Is Enough
sunflower replied to NJChick's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I'm curious , can you reorganize and train your pouch to 4oz if you have already stretched it? I mean just in theory would it shrink again? Has anybody done this? oh about fills in mexico in TJ they do them for 120.00 on the weekday and 150 on a weekend you go to the clinic and then 200.00 if you need to be picked up and taken back to the airport. Dr. Huacuz he has a website you should be able to acess it just typing those words huacuz. com or huacuz surgery center.com -
I hope its not rude to mention another website on here. I absolutely think this is one of the best ones. I have seen others mentioned this is why I thought it was okay.

Hey Penny, Thanks for the update. The black lady I'm refering to is not Tess but yes, gosh I thought Tess was rude too. This one was heavy set and very overbearing and its not the one just lately who was in with the other lady that had adhd, she was in with Twanda yes, and her husband had died and she had one daughter. She wanted to loose weight but she was always very strange like she was hiding something. What happened to the alcoholic lady who dressed like a hooker when she drank she was older maybe 50 or plus. Then again Allison and the girl who was a stripper ? Thank you for that website though that is very insightful. Maybe we should start a starting over lapband group on my website at smartlbsupport.com. I could really use the support.

I love that show too, but it has been off and on for me, I need to start taping it for sure. I love to see all the therapy, it really helps if you can get something out of it. I believe there is actually a website you can find out about the latest on the cast. Thanks for updating me on Cassie, what ever happen to Josie? and the colored lady who was there with Tony Braxton's sister --she was so adorable-- but the other lady was just plain rude what ever happened to her? My favorite was the Hawaiian girl or the one who had a luoa, her mom had died and her aunt had raised her. I really liked her. I can't remember Christie? Okay keep me updated I really loved that show. Oh what about Allison?

Wow, Angel! Sound like similar stories. How beautiful. I have another one too. My dad died in March of '88 and my parents were married in the month of March too. Well that April in '88 I was pregnant and I slept a lot in the first 3 month best sleep of my life! Anyway one night I had this dream that I was on a beach that was kinda like a bay and had a pier very near by. In the dream it kinda looked like the beach we went to as a kid, but it was not the same beach. Anyway my dad in the dream was more like a transparent person with a voice. In the dream I wanted to go out but my dad kept telling me" no, I want to teach you catch these lobsters that hide by these rocks and you catch them with a sock. " We were running up and down as he was trying to show me. In the distance the water was clear and there were fishermen in small boats that had lights on the bottom so you could see the water. In the dream I could not tell if it was morning or early evening but it was a little dark. As my dad was talking to me he told me "look, look at that wave" I looked and it was all like light orange. The fishermen all threw their nets in and they caught shrimp. My dad then handed me a cloth bag and said "come on lets get the shrimp instead" and we ran to the beach and started to collect the shrimp. Well in my dream I realized " hey is this really happening?" I looked up (still in the dream and my dad was gone but I heard his voice and he said 'call mom, call mom this really happened''. When I woke up it was 530 am and I woke up in tears and my heart beating. Later on about at 8am I called my mom and told her the whole dream she was so quiet and I finally said "did you hear me?" she answered in a soft ready to crack voice and said " this really did happen on our honeymoon, we went to this beach at 530am and tried to catch lobster but ended up with a bag of fresh shrimp" I asked her "how were you trying to catch the lobster?" she said " your dad had this trick with a sock" I told her "yes, he was trying to teach me that trick with the sock but then the wave came" She was very emotional crying and said " I know he is trying to say Happy Anniversary to me" Gosh! can you believe that? I still get emotional just talking about it!

Yes, I hear what the two of you are saying when I used to go to OA(Over Eaters Anonymous) One time this girl came in and said she wished she would have had a drug or alcohol addiction instead. We all looked at her like what? but then she made sense, and said well when you have those addiction you just don't have them in your life anymore but how do you deal with the food? You still have to deal with it everyday. I mean that made sense to me. But of course we all know it is also about self control, self acceptance, self respect, self respect, self better get yourself together! than just food. We have to learn to take this one day at a time. Today I had a bad day! ate too much but tomorrow is a new day and a new beginning. I will do better.

Absolutely Sarah! I have found myself typing when I am hungry and just reading some of the experiences on here have stopped me from over eating. Oh, by the way mother knows best. Oh yes, my husband knows this story very well. We both think it was my dad and grama telling me everything will be alright and we will be there. As for my daughter, I mentioned it today to her and asked her if she remembered and she said "of course I remember grampasito" The whole experience was actually peacful I have had others and they have all been wonderful. I know my dad is happy while I have never seen here, I have had many wonderful meetings in my dreams where he looks transparent but young about 30 and dressed in a beach look like a light blue shirt and white trousers and barefoot. I know he is happy and comes around to reassure me when I get stressed out. I feel lucky to have had such a wonderful dad that I can still feel connected to.

Okay, okay I've got a good one too. My dad passed over 18 years ago. A month after he passed My husband and I found out we were pregnant! It brought great joy to our family just knowing this at this time. When I was a very 9 months pregnant and was giving a verbal eviction notice to my daughter who was 2 weeks late, I started to think how sad it would be since my dad was not here with us. Strangely something prompted me to open a drawer in my dresser. There was an old photo album I had made up as a kid. I opened it to the middle and there was a picture of my dad and grama (both passed) embraced and smiling in the picture we took at Disneyland. Not two seconds later my daughter's mobile in her room started to play all by itself! Not to mention I once told my dad that when I died I wanted my ashes to be put in all the fun places I loved like Disneyland. The other strange thing was my daughter was born 1 year to the date of my dads funeral which was a beautiful service. I get teared up just thinking about this experience and there were more, that were just as great. I know my dad has always watched over our entire family especially my daughter. When my daughter was about 3, I walked into her room to greet her as I did every morning. When she reached her arms out for a hug, she said "mommy, grampa said not to be so sad about him" I looked at her in shock I was thinking about at the moment. I said "really, when did you see him?" she said very camly, oh early this morning, he was flying around my room and he told me that" shocked I said "well, did he tell you anything else?" she said, "yes. he said I was pretty like my mom and that I was a good girl too" as I stood there in shock a few tears started to flow. My daughter looked at me and padded my back and said "don't worry mommy he is so happy up there" My daughter is now 17 and she still remembers this experience.

Geeze! No offense but I think your husband needs to get a life and manage his own time.
