  1. I just found out 2 wks ago that my realize band has slipped. Like a previous poster, I knew I was too tight for too long and had excessive vomiting for too long, but it is what it is. I am close to goal (about 10 lbs.). My surgeon took all the fill out and said my only option was surgery. Unfortunately, my out of pocket cost for surgery is unattainable for me right now. The weird thing is, he never mentioned just taking the fill out and seeing how I do. I've read so many posts on here about doing that. I need some guidance, reassurance, etc. Since the unfill, I feel great! I'm able to eat again, not overdoing it, and still feel a little restriction. I haven't vomited in 2 wks! Is it possible that the unfill caused the band to go back into the right position? Am I just being optimistic here? I know the risks of leaving things the way they are, but I just can't afford another surgery right now. Any help is greatly appreciated!
  2. I have been banded since Sept 08. Finally started feeling restriction end Jan 09 (3rd fill). Went for a 4th fill end March and told the PA about my 1st episode of PB'ing which occurred right before my appointment. She still thought I needed a fill because of the amount of food I'm still able to eat (1- 11/2cups) and she gave me 0.25cc (7.25cc total in 9cc band). That went fine, kept Water down and everything. Now, 2 weeks later, I feel very tight, especially in the mornings. Some days, though, I can eat anything. Today was the worst. I had my usual scrambled eggs (they almost always get stuck, but they're my favorite). I haven't been able to keep anything but liquids down all day!! I'm so afraid of PB'ing, but it's been the only way to get any relief today. No pain, and like I said, keeping liquids down, but I'm scared. Why would I be tighter now than 2 wks ago? Any help is greatly appreciated!!
  3. I also have the 9cc Realize band and I didn't feel restriction until my last fill 2 wks ago. I'm now at 7cc in a 9cc band, and I really have trouble with dry meats and dry eggs. They get stuck and give me really bad chest pain. The problem for me is still portion size. I've lost 55 lbs since my surgery on 9/5/08, but the last 2-3 weeks have been very discouraging. I'm exercising 6 days a week, and that's making me more hungry. I definitely know the difference between head and belly hunger, but I've got to try to stick with what my dr wants (about 3/4 cup per meal). It's so hard!! Good luck to everyone!

  5. Well, I finally got my first fill yesterday, banded on 9/5/08, Realize band. She put in 2.5cc a 9cc capacity band and I feel absolutely no different. I had no restriction before, and I feel the same now. I've been eating soft foods. I'm trying not to get discouraged, but it's hard. Anybody else feel this way?
  6. Hello everyone! I had my band placed on 9/5/08. I've only lost 21 lbs and have not lost any weight in the last week. I'm really feeling discouraged because 1/2 cup is not filling me up at meals and I'm feeling hungry between meals. My surgeon says I need a fill and have one scheduled for 10/24. Anyone else felt this way? I really could use some reassurance here. Pre-op weight 274. current weight 253. thanks Meredith
  7. Hi, I'm also 1 month post op. Fill scheduled for 10/24. How do you feel? I feel like I can eat anything right now. I'm just waiting to feel that tightness everyone talks about. I've lost 21lbs but at times I feel like I'm starving. Best of luck to you!!

    New here! Scared

I've lost the 21lbs since my surgery. I know I'm impatient, but I just can't stand the thoughts of this not being successful. I've failed at everything else, I just can't fail at this too. Thank you so much for the encouragement. It means so much!!
