Tracy, I am thinking you might have shared that cold with me! I have sneezed about 100 times today, and just feel kinda blah.....hoping it is allergies to the millions of weeds that sprouted up everywhere with all the rain we got a couple of weeks ago. We rode up to CO tonight, and had a GREAT time. While we were in Sturgis, we planned to buy a flag---not to fly, but to hang in Ricks shop. We forgot, remembered it when we were in the shop the other night. Well we found one tonight, but it was the 69+1 one, we were not fond of. He said he thought he might have a different one, and he had 1!!! Only 1!!! It has a bike in front of Mount Rushmore, and has Sturgis 2010 on it. We would have paid upwards of $25.00 for it there, we bought it tonight for $8!! They had lots of Sturgis T's too!!! LOL figures doesn't it! We listened to a couple of bands, would have listened to more, but this drunk ass woman, decided she had had enough to drink to start flirting, outrageously! WITH ME!!!!! Not Rick, ME!!! Telling me how much she loved my eyes, and I was a beautiful F'n woman, and was life being good to me----was a bit much for me, so we left, and went looking around! Finally went to dinner, and come on home. Will ride the loop to the other rally tomorrow hopefully, then take his bike up to show on Sunday. Hoping this is not a cold so I feel up to doing all these things! See ya tomorrow!!!
-
LOL, well I am off to get my riding clothes off and my riding clothes on!!! LOL----yeah you read right, and I am not losing my mind!! Went with Kristin today and rode the horses for about 2 hours. Now I am changing so when Rick gets home we can get on the bike and go to CO to some of the rally!! Will be back later, or tomorrow sometime. Cindy---before I forget----what does your class look like so far. My cousin said without question this is going to be one of the most trying classes she has ever had!!! She teaches Middle School Math. She said the girls look at her like she is a lost cause, and the boys are already looking at nothing but the girls!!! Made me wonder how your line up was!!! 15 cc band, wow! I know they say they are much safer on the stomach, than the old skinny models like mine!! Mine holds a max of 4 cc!! I have less than .50 cc in mine. Hope this is the magic fill for you! k y'all see ya later!!!!

Good morning! I am with you all, would love to sleep the weekend away!!! Rick is on call, so we cannot go and stay at the rally as we had originally planned. so we will go up to Ignacio and wander around ( a small town in southern CO), look at the rally stuff there, then Rick is riding his chopper up and entering it in the bike show at Sugar Pine on Sunday. Then Monday we are tossing either a cookout for the family or making a run to the forest to cut wood. We would be finished up if we brought in one more load, but we have not begun bringing enough for his folks. They have an older double wide, and are both in their 80's so they have fire going 24/7 from September til late April easily. They go through some serious wood. We bought a load from a coworker of Ricks who is in some financial difficulty, he is going to bring it in the weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas. I fully intend to discuss the wood with Ricks siblings again, it really helped last year. My Dad has been able to get all his own so far this year, but we have the same guy bringing them a load the same time. We figure they will have burned enough to have space for the load by then. I have 3 loads of laundry done this morning, need to go check on it....brb OK, last load washing. Kinsey was having problems getting moving this morning, so I thought if I got off my butt and did something maybe she wouldn't feel so put out!! It worked in both ways, my laundry is almost done, and she got up and got with it too! Yeah, Jenn, I enjoy having lunch with Rick, I wish he was here in town, or I was there, it is a pain driving back and forth, and it isn't far, but drivers here are morons....make that MORONS!!! Ask Terri, they have no idea what merging for traffic is, and they don't "get" the slow lane/fast lane concept. They like to play games, and go down the hiway --- which the state determined is still going to be 55 mph, side by side going 40 mph. Now at any given time, one of those cars could be my MIL!!!! But she is not playing games, she just drives S L O W!!! And is fine with backing traffic up 20-30 cars. Makes me crazy!!! Michelle---I am so glad you caught the tree before it caused massive damage, or hurt one of your dogs or worse DD! Our tree up top on our extra lot, that burned has partly fallen. Lucky for us even if the entire dang thing fell, nothing would get hurt....except maybe other trees, and if by some strange chance it fell North---it might get the neighbors chicken coop. So.....we ALL know, if it falls, it is going North, the only way it can damage anything!!! LOL This is funny---only because she had no clue what she was saying was wrong----but you know what I mean. Last night I went to dinner with Manda and Kinsey. During dinner a derby friend of Manda's come up and was complaining of issues in their league, and she sat down and was talking to Kinsey, they share a birthday, and she always give Kinsey gum. Anyway, she asks her if she started school, when Kins said yes, she ask her --like she was so grown up now---well have you decided what you want to be when you grow up? Kinsey tells her she thinks she will be a builder, then in the next breath in total seriousness she says "But I am NOT going to be a Mexican when I grown up!" We were all stunned. Now the gal talking to Manda was not hispanic, but we all first tried not to laugh. Then Manda tells her that wasn't very nice, that they know lots of people who are Mexican and they like them. Kinsey's eyes got really big and said " We do????" So Manda tells her that Rick (her friend not Dad) is Mexican, so is Aunt Betty, and Kinsey was saying," but they are nice and DJ says Mexicans are not good!" Manda told her just like President Obama is Black skinned, Mexican people usually have darker skin than us, but not as dark as the president, but skin color isn't what makes us good or bad, or nice or mean, or pretty or not. She takes it all in, then she says "Wow, I know some Mexicans and I like them all!" We had to laugh then......one person---DJ is her neighbor----says something bad, and she was gonna believe it. Thank goodness she said it to us, and not at school! I ate breakfast, trying to make myself get my food and rest in proper perspective. Bigger breakfast, smaller dinner. Bed at 10 ish not 2-3AM ish!!! I went to bed at 9 last night, and went straight to sleep---slept through til 5. Could go back to bed right now!!! Breakfast is not sitting well......ugh! Gonna go put some of these clean clothes away. See y'all later. Gonna go hit Hastings, and buy some new music when I go to lunch with Rick. John Mellencamp has a new CD out, I LOVE him.......I always said he would be my next husband....then Rick stuck!!! LOL
-
Lunch was good....once again we were almost late. We get to talking, and wham we are behind! One would think after all these years, we would run out of things to say to one another, but it hasn't happen yet!!! The guys at work give him a hard time about it---he will call me on break, and they ask who he is calling, when he tells them his wife, they laugh that he is checking up on me, making sure I am home, or that I make him check in. He said he finally laughed and told them, no, he was on break, and he had enough of them, he wanted to talk to someone who knew something!! LOL I like Taco Bell, the food has always gone down without the issue of burgers---with the bun etc. A taco, or 2 is perfect for me. Tight days one works, other days I can do 2---but without all the other things it works for me great! Went and got pictures printed at Walmart while I was having lunch with Rick. The picture of Kinsey on FB with her name across the sandstone she is laying on---I had them done. You can get 3 8X10's, 4 5X7's, 4 4X6's, and 16 wallets for $10.00. More pictures than we need, but at least it isn't costing us a fortune. I have to discuss it with Manda when she gets home, one of the first things Kinsey ask me was if she could send one to her Daddy.......he moved to OK this last weekend. He actually told people at work---he worked with Rick---that Manda and Kinsey were going to be moving there to be close to him. Rick called Manda and said he needed to talk to her before her Mama heard what he did!!! She laughed and said oh hell no she was not moving to OK!! But if Kinsey wants to send a picture I think she should be allowed---it isn't for him, it is for her. We will see if Mommy feels the same. I know when Rick was apart from his kids, he never got any pics, and he paid his CS---he supported his kids, he loved his kids, and nothing. Jason loves Kinsey, I have no doubt, just wish he supported her better. But....Kinsey is our concern not him. I just always think back to how Rick feels.....and hope with all my might, that divorce does not turn my daughter into a bitter witch like his ex. I KNOW that has tons to do with the issues with his kids now. Michelle, sorry you are bummed, and feeling crummy. Maybe this little vacation will pick you up. Worry over the Lupus is part of it I am sure. It is also hard on you parenting alone for stretches of time, then suddenly having to release control again when he gets to come home. I know friends who had schedules where that was an issue. One of my best friends had a DH who worked in Saudi Arabia at the time, and he worked 28 on, and then 28 off. She would be in total charge, with no input even from him, it was before home computers or cell phones----so we would do all kinds of things, then he would come home, and as happy as she was to see him, he wanted to step in and be in charge too---and didn't like her spending time with anyone but him.....which your DH is not gone for that long, or that way, but it is still life in constant adjustment. Come and whine, or just unload, we are always here! Tracy, glad Lucy has a happy home. If you were not ready for her, then it is for the best. Rick and I are going to go look at the rescue shelter this weekend. I heard nothing on the little female, so figure she went to the Colorado rescue. Well somehow I hit a key and lost my lower junk on the computer screen, guess I will go try to figure it out.....duh!

Love you keeping us up on your trip Suzie, hoping you are having a fabulous time!!! Feeling BLAH today! Not enough sleep, although this last week, I am not sure there is such a thing as enough sleep. I don't know what's up, I am cold, and sleepy, and blah through and through. Thinking I might need a dosage change in my thyroid meds. I have used this dosage since the thyroidectomy, with no problems til now. should be an easy fix anyway. Going to lunch with Rick. This new schedule they are on, has him thinking I need to come to town everyday and eat with him. Not a big deal, we don't do fancy!! But......the way I feel, I'd love to stay home and nap!!! I need to empty a microwave cabinet in the garage and put it on Craigslist.....so I can move the file cabinets off the back porch to the garage where they are going to live from now on!!! So I can reorganize my files....will be nice to have it all in one place! Maybe even Rick can find things then.....yeah, I doubt it too, much easier to ask me!!! Love him anyway!!! Enjoyed the CMT Rocks out show last night. But I must say, whoever dressed the women....yuck!!! The dresses were horrid!!! LOL Well I need to go get ready for my lunch date, think we are going to....get ready for it.....TACO BELL!!! LOL It is close to his work, he is tired, and it actually gives him some time to sit and relax a bit before returning. We are going to a rally for the afternoon Sat. & Sun. Rick is on call, so we cannot stay, dangit. but he is entering his chopper in a bike show! Should be interesting to see how his rice bike is accepted. It is a beauty tho!!! Anyway---see y'all in awhile!

Wierd, once I posted the link, it would not let me out of the font, and kept trying to add it to the link.... Anyway---the first one is a dash cam, of part of the pass I refer to driving frequently---Wolf Creek Pass. It does not do it justice in either the beauty or the sharp turns! And since it is dash mounted you do not get the opportunity to look over the edge!!! It is afterall over 10,000 feet up there!!! The 2nd link is to the Narrow Guage railroad that we take between Durango, and Silverton CO. It is an amazing ride, the scenery is gorgeous, and the wildlife abundant, we have seen bears, and elk, the usual deer, fox, raccoons, all kinds of things. There are some steep trestle type views from it too. To drive by car between the 2 places, you must go over 2 mountain passes, both can be trecherous in the winter, so you can imagine taking a little train, and the climbs it must make! They are not great videos, but give you somewhat of an idea what and where I am talking about! Suzie---great to hear from you, have a good trip through to AZ today. Lots of little places to look at. If you drop into Utah, check out The Hole in the Wall. Did you hear about Michael Douglas? He has cancer stage 4, I watched him on Letterman, felt kind of bad for Dave, he was at such a loss for words. He is being really up front about it, saying this type is caused by alcohol, and cigarettes. He has begun radiation....scary stuff. Not sure yet what my day holds! Not much I hope, I would like to kick back and read!! LOL I love how Angela and Tracy keep running into one another!!! Speaking of.... Terri, any suggestions of somewhere to take Suzanne and her husband to eat while they are here? I mean for just gabbing, we can hang at my place---but I don't want to spend the time messing with cooking, I would rather go out!!! LOL, Surprise!!! The bus pulled up yesterday, and there was no Kinsey waiting to stand up, the driver turned to me, and I was waiting to hear the words, that she wasn't there! Instead she puts her hands up to her face in the sleeping position, and tells me she is asleep!!! I had to go on the bus and wake her up. Poor thing is having a hard time letting go of those naps. She is going to bed at 8 now....and Manda said she was out of the tub and in bed by 7:45 last night. She is trying!!! Kinsey takes her vitamins here every morning, and she tells me, this will give her energy to stay awake! Such a nutcase. Manda blew her hair dry last night, since she was going to bed so early, so it was straight this morning, it is soo long! For so long (2 years almost) she was a little baldy---this just seems odd!!! I made arrangements with my neighbor for Kinsey to catch the bus from her house next month. I will be working early voting for the month of October. So I have to be there at 7 AM, and Kinsey gets on the bus at 7:05! So I will leave at 6:50, will have her ready, to just walk out of Connies and get on the bus. It is too good of money to turn down, it will completely cover Christmas, and property taxes, all the kids birthdays----well sons is in a few days. But I enjoy the work, so we made this arrangement! Actually depending on Manda's appt. she may transfer to the Farmington office and go to just scheduling, so she has no field work. If she works out of Farmington, she will catch the bus at home, and I won't have her in the morning, but for an extra half hour in the afternoon. Doesn't matter, I like her being here! Gonna go take a shower and get dressed.....let the day begin!!!

This is screwy, let me post this then I'll tell ya why...

Oh yeah----and I hurt ALL OVER! My body has not done that much physical work in a long time.....yikes ...note to self....exercise might actually help.....

Well, Rick was unhappy, but not terribly so, when he saw how much wood I got, and how much splitting he had to do. He did it, we might do another load for ourselves, and we are done. Then on to the inlaws. But I am not nearly as worried about telling the siblings they have to help as I used to be!!! I went to the bedroom last night to watch Americas Got Talent, because Rick was watching Larry King (booooooring). I missed the show. I crashed shortly after 8. Rick said he come in, spoke to me, when I didn't answer he realized I was asleep. He worked the covers out from under me, and covered me up---I cannot for the life of me believe I slept through that! I am normally a pretty light sleeper! That is the last thing I remember until this morning I woke up at 5:43. I couldn't remember what day it was, why we weren't up....total confusion. I shook Rick and told him I thought he was late---he jumped up, threw his clothes on, and I got him some coffee to go with his meds, and he hauled butt out the door! Normally I turn on the alarm.....guess I didn't! He is due at work at 6---said he clocked in at 6:03. Now he has a company truck, with a black box, so he wasn't going too fast. I know you Texans don't want to hear this, but it is COLD here this morning! It was 51 when I took Kinsey to the bus---which is at the end of my driveway!! LOL Anyway, I know it will get much colder, but this is still August today! Even in my house it is only 72. Suzie, I am excited!!!!! Have a safe, fun trip. BBL phone.....

When you all hear yelling tonight---know it is Rick. He is gonna be mad when he comes home. I was given strict orders (he just shoulda known better!) to go up with my Dad and brother, let them help me load and he would unload when he got home and stack it. We left at 6:30 just as planned, and as we were leaving town, the lightening in the distance made me wonder. Well the further we went and as we got into Colorado the skies were BLACK!!! There were clouds laying so low, you could have walked through them---would have thought about doing so if ANYONE was with me besides my Dad and brother who would have had me certified! Anyway---it began raining, and we drove through a section of hiway that had been hit HARD by hail---it was still deep on the road. When all of a sudden the noise was deafening, and visibility dropped to about 6 feet if that and hail was about marble sized......I managed to see a wide spot, which was a private road turn off, and pulled off, leaving room for my Dad who was behind me, and my brother who was behind him----Dad saw us, but brothers windshield wiper was trying to throw off, and he could see NOTHING! Finally when he passed he saw us, so he managed to get off the road too. When the hail finally passed --probably only 5-7 minutes, seemed like forever! He managed to reattach his wiper blade! But he slid coming off the road, and just up when we moved on, there was a truck on its side. We were driving through about 5-6 inches of hail on the road. I was in the lead, because my truck is biggest, and I have a deer guard on the front of the truck, and deer/elk are usually the biggest worry in the morning. My brother and I had cell phones, Mom had theirs so we put Dad in the middle so we could both watch him!!! It was slick as heck for a couple of miles! I thought about turning around, but we were 45 miles into the 60 mile trip, so thought we might as well go check out the wood available, rather than waste the fuel completely. The further we got the less wet it was, and when we got there, it was muddy, but the wood was not soaking wet or anything. So we loaded. There was a guy there with a truck that looked EXACTLY like mine!! Same year, model, color combo etc. He was loading his trailer, he jerked up so shocked to see his truck driving by we had to laugh!!! I had my truck about 3/4 loaded when my brother come to help, we finished, and on the drive home, we missed the storm again!! Roads were wet, but we stayed dry. So I come home......AND I UNLOADED!!! My husband is gonna be mad!!! I left him wood to split.....LOL I didn't want it raining and soaking the stuff in the truck! Now, I am gonna go hit the shower so I can be out and dressed before Kinsey gets off the bus. Will be back in awhile. First tho I wanted to say WELCOME Shar!!! This is an amazing group, I hope you come to enjoy your time here!!! And Angela I can match you !!! any day of the week, it is just how we write, no one can see the raised eyebrows or laughter behind the words so !!! has to work!---See!!! BBL

I want the blackberry lemonade icee!!! I should care about the calorie count, but don't!! I have had one in a year....lol Got things ready to go get a load of wood in Mancos in the morning. I am driving up alone, but my Dad and my Brother are both taking their trucks up too---so we will work on our own, then as we finish, will help out whoever lacks being done---in other words, they will likely end up helping me!!! LOL, I say that because they can both work circles around me, PLUS Dad has a little Toyota truck, and my brother has a shell on his, and mine is a long bed, full size F250---so it holds more!!! We are going to the Excelsior Factory---they have Aspen wood, cut and ready to load. It is GREAT wood for warming the house quickly---it burns hot and fast---it keeps the chimney cleaned out, and they have lots of small pieces, perfect for kindling---so I get half a load of it, and half a load of full size logs, and it works out great. 3-4 pieces of the small stuff to start the fire is SOOOOO easy! LOL They went up on the prices, but it is going even higher Wed. It will go up 5-10 a load each month. The colder and more in demand, the higher the price. Thanks for all the replies to my PM----with the extras we get, she prefers keeping it under wraps for now. It will be out before long anyway. Can't keep those things secret! They are all taken to heart and appreciated! Mom is coming over in the morning to put Kinsey on the bus, we are leaving at 6:30. It is an hours drive---they open at 7---but I am not leaving any earlier! I also don't want to leave later, and deal with all the school busses. Will take a couple of hours to load max, so we should be back before noon easy. Then the unloading will wait til Rick gets off, because he stacks better than I do---mine tend to fall!!! I d not do it on purpose!!! Promise!!! Well I am going to go to bed early, for all the good it will do me!!! See ya tomorrow, after my adventure!!! Last time I went alone, I got my windshield shot out on the way home!!! Scary crap!!!

Icees.....Rick and I were shopping in Target a couple of weeks ago, and he wanted a drink, so I bought an icee. Well, you buy your cup then fill it yourself. I had always loved their white cherry, I love the cherry, hate the red dye! Anyway, cherry is bright red. So they had this lighter colored one, and it was blackberry lemonade. OMG it was soooooo good! Rick ended up drinking so much of it we had to get a refill before we left!!! I may go shop Target today!!! Thinking of taking Kinsey to see the new Nanny McPhee movie. She and her Mommy are at the park now, so will wait, and not interupt their little time together there. Manda has accepted a date! She swore off men for awhile!!! LOL, it was good, she needed to focus on WHAT SHE wanted from a man, not all the other garbage! She is just going to dinner! LOL Next Friday night. Her ex is officially moved. Kinsey took it hard, she loves her Daddy, and enjoyed her time with him. And Manda said to be honest there were times it was nice to have an evening or night to herself, so I will try to remember to have Kinsey come spend the night more frequently. I hesitated because then if he took her, Manda was upset at her being gone too much!! Parenthood....... Suzie, will you organize my house while you are here???? Well we had a disaster.........ok not a serious one, but it hurts me! My brother come to help me do the yard as part of my birthday. I was putting Scotts Turf Builder on the lawn and plants---in the back yard, so he grabbed THE bag he said and did the front. Well ALL my plants in front, the bedding plants, the hangers the porch baskets, everything is DYING or DEAD. I watered and fretted, well last night I went looking for my whirly thingy to put some seed out on the hill (I use it with bird seed all over the hill) and found where he put it-----in the bag of WEED & FEED. It kills all broadleaf, or succulents. In other words, the grass was fine, it killed everything else. My porch looks pathetic. SOOOOOOO Sad. Not to mention an expensive replacement this late in the season......sniff sniff. Michelle, I was diagnosed with Lupus due to the # of factors I matched back 14 + years ago. Then the immunologist they sent me to, said no it was definitely some sort of connective tissue disorder but not lupus. Eventually they decided the points were matching due to my RA---but I have never (knocking like a mad woman on the desk here) had another flare. My DD on the other hand has them frequently, with increasing severity. It is hoped with her upcoming surgery that will lessen, as studies have shown it to. Will be PM'ing that info to you all. Better do that now, or my brain will freeze again.....

Hey Terri, good to see you! I have bought chile everywhere! Then for years didn'thave to, because my SL's family is from Las Cruces, and when they went to get it, they brought us 3 bags. Well in the last couple of years both her parents have passed, so they no longer go on that schedule. So this year I bought them at the produce store next to Golden Dragon. They had the Big Jim chiles. they are bigger, and meatier chiles. I bought med/hot. They have some zing, but not enough to take away the flavor. I am telling you the skins fell off! Now mind you I was still up til 2 AM finishing up, and getting my mess cleaned! I brought bag back for my neighbor, and she called me and laughed because an hour later she was done. BUT all she did was put the chile into freezer bags as it was. When she thaws the bag, she says they peel super easy. Well these could not have peeled any easier! And I am one of those people who would rather have the mess once, than every time I cook! So I clean mine, sort them. The big, heavy in tact ones bag up for chile rellanos---so the stem stays on. Then the good ones with no stem I leave whole for other dishes I make, and then the rest I dice. Then I get the quart bags, fill them with about a pound of diced chile, and flatten it to as thin as it gets and freeze it flat. Then when I need chile, I can take the bag out, place it on the edge of the counter, and break off what I need, and the rest goes back into the freezer, never thawed. Green Chile does not chop well in the food processor, but onion does. So I chop a couple of BIG sweet onions, and mix som eof the diced chile with it, then lay a layer on a cookie sheet, and freeze it. When it is froze, I scrape it off into a bag---then for omelets or whatever. I can open and grab a handful---without thawing anything, or chopping anything! I really wouldn't have been up so late last night, but Rick come in from work, so I went away from it for awhile....er a couple of hours anyway!!! So with my breaks, it was a late one. But it is in the freezer! I will likely do one more bag. Then split it between our parents. We did it that way before. Jenn, I have no advice, I HATE people living with me!!! That sounds horrible, but it bugs the crap out of me! It puts serious stress on whatever relationship it is. co worker, child, friend, it stresses it. If you do, go into it with HARD ground rules. My neighbor across the street, looked out in his back yard to where his 2 year old daughter was playing, while he worked in the shed ---in the same yard, with the door opened. She started shrieking "Kitty -Kitty", he looked out to see her in the middle of 3 baby skunks!!!! He said in hind sight he would have loved to have the picture, but his mind was to save her so he run to scoop her up, and they all ran right at him! Then ducked in under his shed!!! No odor, so she was fine, mad that he had disturbed her play! He and his wife began watching out their DR window and the skunks were out again---so they freaked out a bit, and Rick told him he could borrow a trap from the city, so he left to go check on that, and found the problem---what they assume to be Mama had been hit on the hiway---so the babies were hungry, and lonely! He talked with them at the shelter, so they come and brought a trap, and the babies were big enough to want the food in the trap, so they caught them, and he took them all, and released them up in Mancos CO. He gets so excited telling about it, it is cute! Well guess I should go get dressed.....lazy me!!! BBL y'all!
-
Well it was not meant to be with the dog. I went to the shelter, and as yesterday he was in a cage with 2 other dogs. I took my Mom with me. He ignored us for all intents and purposes, he was having a great time playing with the other little male in the cage. They are big---like 6 foot by 12 foot, with half being indoors and half outdoors. They were running and chasing and having fun. The female in the cage with them, had pups recently, her milk has not completely dried, but she has been without pups for a couple of weeks I would guess. I would not even hazzard a guess at her breed make up, she was just a little dog---light brown, blondish color, and she did not take her eyes off of us. She was pleading with her eyes. She kept getting bumped into by the other dogs playing, she ignored them completely and just watched us with her tail going 90 per. I was sunk. I told the boy I would like to take her out of the cage, and we had been there at THAT cage for 10 minutes or so---not walking around, just there. He comes over and says these dogs aren't up for adoption, they are going to a rescue. IN DENVER! I guess these medium size dogs are rare in Denver, and they take 30-50 a month from our county! They go to a no kill rescue. I spoke with the director and she is going to speak to them, but she said they are pretty much sticklers with the program. So at least she is going to get a home.... It was bizarre how she begged. I could not have left with any other dog!!! If it is meant to be it will be. It is 8:30 here, and about 3:15 I started on green chile, and am half done. My neck and back needed a break from standing at the sink---so I am eating some chicken salad, drinking some tea and sitting!!! It will be well after midnight before I get done. But tomorrow is a sleep in day for me---YAY So far I have 2 gallons of BIG meaty peppers for rellanos. 12 quarts diced, 4 quarts whole, and I'd guess about 7 snack size bags of diced as well. Will end up with about the same out of this bag I would imagine. The peppers were great, and the kid who roasted them did an awesome job. If you don't roast them long enough or hot enough they don't peel well. If you cook them too hot it cooks the meat of the chile--making it hard to peel and use. The skin just pretty much fell off the first bag, and I am hoping the one I am fixing to open is the same. I intend to call his supervisor tomorrow and tell him I have never had such a nice job done in all the years I have done chile. Hate to yak about me and leave---but they are not gonna do themselves, and I wanna go to bed sometime tonight! Will see y'all tomorrow!

Oh my y'all are scaring me!!! I was thinking of going and picking up a little guy (ok dog) for Rick to meet tonight, and see how he does away from the chaos of the animal shelter. They have a program where you "test run" an animal for 48 hours to see how it settles in away from there, and I was planning on going and picking up this little dog Kinsey and I took a liking to. They age him at between 6 months and a year, he was turned in by family who were leaving the area to the Farmington shelter. He was not adopted, so on a second chance plan he was brought here. He is a mini pinscher cross of some sort. Medium height, but small build, and a heavier built face than a mini pin. What struck me with him, was he was SOOOO excited, but he #1 did not pee everywhere, #2 he danced up to Kinsey but he did not jump on her, #3 he was in with 2 other dogs, and he did not act either cowed down by them, nor aggressive over them. I like Suzie, am unsure any dog will replace Chelsea. She was not the dog I wanted when we got her, I wanted a small frou-frou dog. My ex brought her home, and Manda fell in love with her. She was 1/2 dalmation and 1/2 Springer Spaniel. Bigger than I wanted, and hairy---she shed horribly! But.....she was the smartest dog I ever had. And when my ex would get mean, she would get right in there and try to protect me. She was not mean any other time, but she would turn on him, knowing he was going to kick her if she got in the way, and she did it over and over. When the police flew me home after the attack, and I cried telling them of what this dog did for me, they pulled $$ out of their own wallets and bought the pet carrier for the plane. The police escort would not fund it! Imagine!!! Anyway as soon as I got home I sent the money back to the one I made friends with, and a couple of weeks later I got a thank you for my $50 dollar donation to the womens shelter, they donated my $$$. Anyway, Chelsea, lived a happy, no kicking life from then on out, and like Suzie, when the time came, she was put down in my arms, in the vets desk chair, and is buried here at my place. The little dog is male, I wanted a female, but he caught my eye. His name is Toby. Now, what if I get him, and he is a problem??? Aarrggghhh, decisions, decisions!!!! The remainder of my day, I plan on putting green chile up in the freezer----hard, time consuming, back breaking work----but as I eat it, it all seems worthwhile!!! I have an abundance of squash and tomatoes....they are being given away they are not going in the freezer!!! brother here bbl

Our trailer was mild, there were trucks (like moving vans) with big titties on the side, and "show us yours" painted under it. There was one that looked like a Halloween shop, black brick, and a gargoyle on the top with boobies hanging!! There were blow up dolls, male and female on lots of vehicles, and behind lots of riders!!! Ours was mild, no bad language spelled out, and the beer was closed and not in the truck cab. So we were safe, from everything except thirsty riders!!! I have no room to store anything like that for anyone!!! Cindy, have you ever had to testify to abuse you found or are you out of the loop completely when it is reported? Kinsey had an injury that caused CPS to visit them over. My DD was freaking out, but it was a legitimate injury, and when shown how it happen, they never went any further with it, but daycare reported it. I am up late....I could have slept all afternoon, now hit a second wind, and I NEED to sleep!!! Got some laundry done anyway! See y'all tomorrow!

Good morning---barely, but morning none the less!! My sleep schedule gets so screwed up with Rick on this field time! Last night I went to bed at 10:30---even though I wasn't really tired, because I knew he had to be up at 1 AM. I was still awake when we got up! He left and I managed to go to sleep for awhile, then at 6 the alarm goes off again, to get Kinsey. When she left I kicked the recliner back and slept for awhile longer.....it is so messed up, I don't even know if I am tired or not! LOL Becky and I made one of the Sturgis albums! LOL When a good friend and neighbor found out we were taking the truck and Becky was driving to Sturgis as opposed to riding, he jokingly bought Gary one of those tshirts that said "If you can read this the bitch fell off". Everyone got a good laugh about it. It was done in good humor, no offenses were made. Well we find out in Cheyenne on the way up, he took it to WEAR! So Becky and I went out to Walmart, we bought this marked down oilcloth stuff---they sell it in 60" wide rolls, printed or clear in the fabric dept. heavy plastic but this had a grain, it was woven, but plastic feeling. Anyway we got it cheap, because we wanted the backside, the white side, not the print! Then we got shoe polish with the sponge, and made a sign to go on the back of our trailer. The sign said "These b#*hes (and yes we made designs we did not spell it out) may have fallen off....but we have the BEER!!!!" Because we had 3 HUGE (think 3-4 foor long) coolers in the trailer, holding all the food and drink. We wrapped our sign around the end, and had people honking and laughing at it. From Cheyenne to Sturgis is only about 3 hours, and is Sturgis minded all the way. All the service stations had vendors set up, had Sturgis water stops all the way etc. Anyway she called me and told me it is in a picture in one of the albums! LOL We laughed and had so much fun with it....now we are infamous! And y'all thought I had gotten caught flashing didn't you????? (o)(o) Most of you probably read on FB, but they put Kinsey on a wrong bus yesterday. Scared us to death, because the bus driver said she thought they had told her that she was the one going with her Daddy. Well just a few hours earlier, DD and the ex had gotten into a huge battle, because he wanted to go take her out of school for 2 days! He is moving this weekend, he has to be in OK by Monday. She told him if he had bothered to call and see how her first day was, or had tried to see her this weekend, he would have known she was sick and had already missed school, so no she was not missing more. He was pissed, saying now he won't see her til next summer. Manda told him to come and take her to dinner to give her loves goodbye, he refused saying it would be too sad. So when the busdriver said that, we all freaked out! Thought he had taken her and run or something! When she was trying to call him, her phone beeped with an incoming call, she thought it might be him so she answered and it was Kinsey's preschool, the school put her on the wrong bus, and she was there. Thank goodness! They know Kinsey, and the family, and took care of her while I went to get her. I pity whoever Manda talks to today. Through it all Kinsey had her bus thing around her neck----a hot pink school bus, with her name, address, contact ph #, and BUS #, on it, with a crocheted lime green string. She has to wear it EVERY afternoon for the first month. it was on. Stating bus #6. They put her on bus #14. She told them she needed on Debbies bus, they told her to find her seat and sit down....ignored her. So she found a friend from daycare who was going back there, and went with them. There is a woman who works the preschool/daycare who had it out with the office manager where I used to work, so she and I have always had a connection, due to that---we neither one can stand her!!! She said Kinsey walked in and says "Miss Lisa, I'm not supposed to be here, but I am!" So they called Manda! Hopefully today goes better. Guess I will get busy, it is no longer morning.....I missed posting it by 3-4 minutes.....oh well....deal! LOL

25 years ago, I would have went into a full blown panic if I felt like I do these last couple of days! It would have meant I was pregnant!!! LMAO! All I want to do is sleep. It was always my first sign.... Since that is an impossibility (in spite of being exposed!!!) guess I am just tired! LOL Suzanne, your post made me more tired, I am slugging around, and you are home from work already! LOL, Jenn too....I am a slug.....DO NOT reach for the salt! Rick wants me to reschedule his appt. anyway, he is wanting to do a couple of things in ABQ, so would prefer a day not mid week. Of course it is easy for him to say, I am on the phone with a VERY busy scheduler not him!!! Kinsey was so funny, she got off the bus, and was telling Megan and I that they let her stay at school, and her teacher missed her, and she gets to keep going! When they called us to go get her she had a fever of 103. She thought that was IT. All this time prepping for school, and they were already sending her home, and she was never going to get to go again. We tried reassuring her, but it took the teacher to convince her! Waiting to hear from Marie to see if we are going to resume our Taco Tuesday lunch today or not! It has been over 2 months! Her son is out of the hospital, has the cast off his wrist, and the pins out---he is in a brace. He has been released from speech therapy, continues his physical therapy 3 times a week---as much as he can, he is still in the halo, and the last scan was good, but it looks like it will be on for another month then they will scan again. So as hard as it was she returned home now.....and will be going south to see him as much as they can. It will be so good to catch up with her! Well, I better get busy. I have a bunch of meatballs to make. Got the meat on a GREAT sale yesterday so making meatballs out of some of it to freeze. So much easier to have them ready to go! If you text Jenn, tell her I am glad she likes her shirt, and she is very welcome. Michelle....where you at? I miss you!

What a nice day I had!!! Spent good time with my Mom, had a great lunch at Olive Garden. Then Megan and Kinsey and I hung out after school, til Manda got here. I got to talk to my grandsons---it always makes me cry, but it is SO good to hear them. My youngest grandson that just turned one, says UH OH to everything, and he won't say Mom, he just says DAD, DAD, DAD, over and over and over!!! But what a sweet little voice to hear. Even if I'm not DAD!! Rick and I just vegged on the couch this evening. Getting ready to go to bed, hope to sleep better tonight. My grandsons package arrived today in LA, so your shirts should be there any time. Plain...what on earth are you thinking....redemption for Tracy???? never, never, never!!! LOL And she is right tho.....men ARE easy, and we ARE glad!!! Suzie, my SIL is like that, in a total different manner---they go on and on about her decorating ability. OMG, she is so sloppy, her paint lines are horrid, she does not match walpaper patterns, and while some matchy matchy stuff is ok, hers is like over the top. She has a purple bathroom, and it is suffocating it is SOOOO purple!!! But they all talk about how beautiful she does things!!! In your case, I would have salted too, I hate bland. I cook with tons of chile! Looks like Rick is finally ready to go to bed, so I will check i nwith all of you tomorrow!!!

Someone kick me if I even think of drinking something with caffeine in it, again in the evening! I had part of a can of diet DP, and had part of a chocolate ice cream with Rick----less than half a cup. I was awake til 2 AM! Then back up at 4 when he left for work, then went back to bed when he left at 4:30, slept til 6 when Kinsey got here. Dozed in the chair after she left....and Mom just called and woke me up saying she was ready to go to town.....ugh. I need a few minutes to wake up and prepare for shopping!! LOL Well Tracy, you said you were putting it in God's hands so......just roll with it! Suzie, I do everything possible to avoid moving Rick's big bike! But have done it! Years ago, I made the decision to move one of the smaller ones, a 650 I believe it was, and thought I could do it by standing next to it.....I dropped it in the garage!!! Luckily it had hiway bars, and no bags or anything so nothing even got scratched. I learned to move any of them----I sit on them to move them around, my legs are stronger than my arms!!! Have fun cleaning. Remind me again of the day you will be here. I think I need to change Rick's cardio appt. in ABQ. which is no big deal, he is dreading this one anyway it is a new Dr. his usual Dr. is on a year sabbatical. This Dr. has not ordered his echo, or anything.....his appt. is now scheduled for the 15th. But like I say it is NOT a biggie to change. We were actually hoping to get his appt. on a Friday so we could stay over longer for the fair, maybe hit a concert!! I don't want to reschedule yet til I know for sure, because my luck....I would reschdule the DAY you were gonna be here! Gotta get it in gear........will be a nice time with my Mom. Just need to prep for the OTHER people!! LOL

Kind of a wierd day here too! Rick had a friend over, he used to work with this guy, who is "over the top" in the way that he talks non stop, is rather loud....he drinks quite a bit, but he is good at heart, and come over to help Rick split wood. He is single, and lonely I think. Years ago, when Rick was in the field full time, he stopped by Rick's truck late one night, and ask for water, as they talked, Rick found out he had been called in at the last minute, and had no lunch. So Rick give him one of his sandwiches, and some junk food. I had sent chicken salad sandwiches with him, and to this day EVERY single conversation with Steve, he mentions the awesome chicken salad I make!!! We have had him over for holidays etc. He has no family near, and tries so hard to please others. BUT....it was just someone else around ALL day! I cooked and cleaned, and tried to get ready for Ricks 2 week stint tracking the frac crews. It is a busy time for us, and he DID help with the wood splitting---I am just being petty!!! I want to go to the casino---I hit a few in SD, but seldom go to ours here---Rick doesn't enjoy it, he will take me, and he is Mr. patience, but it isn't fun sitting at the slots, while he sits and watches!!! LOL I have to rearrange my freezer tomorrow, so I can put up some green chile. Not either one something I want to do especially, but they are ready, so it is time!! I'll be in and out tomorrow......was a really nice weekend, hate for it to come to an end......

Lotsa wood ready to be unloaded at my house!! We got out there and had some truck trouble, stressed me out, but I AM married to a mechanic, and all was well!!! LOL Was a beautiful day, we saw a herd of wild horses, and lots of wild turkeys. Found an arrow head, shared a picnic with my husband, who SERIOUSLY packed the food, and took all my likes and dislikes into consideration! I had all my favorite things! We drove out to the forest, then changed clothes out there, because long pants and sleeves are needed for the actual cutting and loading, but it is HOT! So we changed, then changed back before driving in...I have no idea why we have not done that before, it was so much better than driving home in dusty, sweaty clothes. It did feel a little odd, stripping off and changing in the middle of the outdoors---but kinda daring!!! We have grandkids, so we ALWAYS have a container of baby wipes in our vehicles, so we used them to wash our faces, and it was such a relief, we enjoyed the drive home, with the windows down, no AC---just cuz it was evening, and felt incredible! The forest service here, went in and thinned the forest, they are going to have a prescribed burn in this area, so they thinned the trees, they dropped hundreds of dead standing ponderosa pines. They are the TALL ones with limbs only on the upper 1/3. The trunks can be huge---but they are TALL and straight. Most were a bit bigger around than say a dinner plate, but there were some so big Rick and I could not reach around them even holding hands!!! HUGE trees! They left some standing, and they had big "W"s on them, they were designated wildlife trees. Ok I thought, but what about the fire???? LOL. go figure!!! Jenn, I chose your shirt, because I liked it!!! I actually bought one like it in brown, but it has skull designs I am not so fond of on it....but they are on the back so I don't have to look at them!!! You came very close to not getting it!!! Hope you like it, it is a bit different, yet not pink and sequined!!! Tracy I chose yours like I say thinking the swirls were less defined, it says STURGIS around the neckline, and I liked it a lot.....ummmmmm I have one like it too!!! LMAO!!! Sorry girls, I just bought what I liked. LOL Suzanne, Rick was originally unsure how to act around a friend of ours who come out years AFTER we knew her. Then I told him he acted fine around "XXX" and "XXXX", his response was "They're lesbians???" He lives in the dark sometimes!!! Then he relaxed and now one of his friends recently come out, and that threw him for a loop!!! But he handled it very well!! I was impressed!!! Well I am off to check my mail, and relax my back hurts from today!!! See you tomorrow!

Busy Day!!!! Kinsey was here for a bit, then took her to my Moms so I could do my running. Went and got wood permits for both BLM wood cutting and Forest wood cutting----then took the saw blades in, then hit Walmart for EVERYTHING!!! $200.00 later it is put away and I STILL don't know what's for dinner! I mailed shirts to TX & NY today, as well as another box to LA to my grandsons. Keep watch for them, I hope they are at least somewhat in the ballpark for what you had in mind. This was the 70th anniversary for sturgis, and the 70th Tshirt SUCKED!!!!!! I thought they would have some awesome ones. Wrong. The licensed shirt was 2 skeletons in the 69 position, with another skeleton stripping off a shirt, to join in. It said 69+1 there is always room for 1 more...........I thought it was not what any of us wanted. Sure everyone laughed when they saw it the first time, but the guy said it was not selling well at all in his booth. Anyway, Rick just pulled up so we are headed out to pick up the saw chains so we can work our butts off this weekend. But we played the last couple so guess it is ok!!!

Sure Plain, you like being the Boy Toy in here and we all know it!!! LOL Why do ya think we miss you so when you go AWOL on us???? At the rally I bought a little sticker---they have some unreal ones let me tell you! Anyway the one I bought says .357 beats 911. I want to put it in the corner of my storm door! I suggest the same for your sister Michelle. I know that sounds drastic, but I'll tell ya, if she has finally left, it will not shock her to think about it. All these years later.....my ex is the cause of my concealed carry permit, and I will take him out not out of fear, but survival----I know him well, and it will be him or me. He does not know this new me......I pray your sister finds her power within. We totally enjoyed Sturgis. We had fun with the rally, and the concerts were great, but we went for the rides. OK, Hubby might have went for all the boobies!!! LOL Mount Rushmore, and Custer State Park, were the most amazing ride, I think I have ever taken! We tempted fate and went to the Devils Tower on Friday the 13th!!! The rides, were like loops, all leaving from our camp, looping around. We would go, explore all day, come home, hit the shower, and go to a concert. It was such fun!!! I highly recommend the area for site seeing, especially if you like the old west feel---Deadwood was tons of fun! Forgot to tell you....Becky one morning (cold sober) went with Rick and I to the rally grounds, and suddenly decided she was getting a tattoo! Not that she needed permission, but I hung with her, looking through books, and Rick went and got Gary!!! She did it, she got a comedy/tragedy mask tattoo on her lower leg, it has hearts behind it . It is her birth sign, and she told me 15 years ago she wanted it! Then she developed a liking to Patron. Talk about letting her hair down. Becky had fun!!! We laughed ourselves silly at her. Then she busted my hubby in the nose! She and I were sitting on the back seat of the golf cart, and tried to get him to sit on OUR laps for a change---he decided to wedge in instead, and almost sent Becky over the side into a Big Dog bike--she was grabbing for hold and the sleeve zipper caught Rick's glasses, and ripped the crap out of his nose. He was bleeding everywhere! He is getting great mileage out of telling everyone he got in a tussle with 2 drunk women.......

Oh Michelle, that is terrible, I will for sure pray for them. is her hospitalization documented to be caused by him? If so she should be able to get the other kids? What are the kids ages? Abusers are VERY manipulative---and the reasons she stayed are probably different than you think. I told people I went back because I loved him....when in reality I went back in an effort to protect THEM. That life is NEVER one you want, it is one you live in, wondering how it is going to change. Oh I suppose somewhere someone might choose that life, but I cannot imagine it. Prayers will be heartfelt, and frequent.
