People change.....you changed, or you would not have chose to take the band route in your life. As for the cocktail party issues in the OP---the friends kids are getting older, leaving them with granparents or a sitter away from home, is not a big deal that it is when the kids are younger. You mentioned homework time so they are in school, and that leads to new connections for the Mom as well, and frankly it IS hard to maintain friendships that have no common grounds except eating, especially if one of you changes the way you eat!!! I had a group of 3 of us who hung out together heavily for awhile. 2 of us were very heavy, the 3rd extremely thin. The thin friend was married for many years, although not happily, the heavy friend and I had both been married shorter times, and in all honesty spent more time hanging and "doing" things when we were both single. The heavy friend and her husband went and got banded first. For him it was immediate success, hers has been much slower. Then I went and got banded with good success. The thin friend made it very clear she did not support HOW we were losing weight. She had no clue. She ate everything right along with us through the years, and was always rail thin. She simply had no clue what trying to lose weight was like. Now years later, we are reduced to running into one another in stores, or at church! Jobs have changed, kids been married, grandbabies born, parents passed, business' started, economic issues------things changed. We touch base on the biggies. Have not ever seemed to blame one another for the distance.... I have my old friends who were there through that phase, and all the others. I have new friends that are in the same places I am now. And I have LBT for my band issues. I try not to let it rule my life. It is not for everyone, regardless of their weight. Some relationships just don't last. There often is not a person or action at fault---things just change. Maybe just look around, and see what is around you. If you are active now, look at the gym, or at events you frequent. Friendships will last better if you have common ground somewhere. Younghippiechick, sometimes the 20's can be self centered times---and her age is posted on the side bar----but we all have to go through those times to get to where we are---you and I for instance---in our attitudes as well as our actual age. We learn. In everything we do. And sadly for the OP as well as the letter writer, even with goodbyes we learn.

Thanks for getting the pics up Suzie! Enjoy the caverns, they amaze me, I have been meaning to get there again, I don't know if it would bother me or not, the older I get the bigger my phobia of enclosed places....wonder why? I was up off and on all night, Kinsey had a rough night, Manda called me. School held drills yesterday and one of them, along with fire drills, etc was an intruder drill. So Kinsey freaked out last night, thought intruders were coming for her, and she was shaking and crying, and thought they were going to shoot kids and Moms. Manda was at a loss to calm her so she called me, and even together, she was ADAMANT that an intruder was coming, they told her at school, and she was afraid....... So, I have nothing on the immediate agenda, so I am going to go take a nap.....I hope! BBL

Yep, Tricked Out Nachos----beef, chicken or chile. They put on all the usual, cheese, melted as well as shredded, pico, sour cream and guacamole. then you get to add the jalapenos and extra cheese, etc whatever you want. They are like under 6 bucks, and together we cannot eat them all......so we like it. Nachos go down easy..........sad to say! Which is why you are down 11 pounds and I am not! I have not lost in Lord knows how long!!! But I also have not tried.....I AM lazy! See Suzanne made it to Roswell, and she did not want to stop there, but I saw her with the aliens!!! Have Fun!

Got my call this morning, I start back to work the 5th. I have personal time built up, so taking the 2nd day off to take Rick. Will be working like before, 7-1ish. Will be Christmas money. That and property taxes!!! But it is nice that those 2 things don't affect our operating budget we have in place!! LOL I need to go to the dentist, I have a tooth that is trying to hurt.....every now and then it twinges. I need to schedule it before years end, I have not spent our flex amount yet, might as well let the dentist have some of it!!! Rick and I went to Fuddruckers for lunch, shared some nachos. Well just checking in, going to go move the water.
-
It's funny Suzanne should say that, Rick said last night, they act alike. He said they use the same phrases, and move their hands in similar manner. I had so much fun! Wish we would have had more time! When they left last night, they had directions to SA Tracy. What the plan is I don't know, she will likely check in tonight, it is a 2 day drive, and let you know their plan. Got laundry going, and plan to go in and have lunch with Rick. Other than that, nothing! This weekend we are going to Albq. to the state fair. We usually try to go to Rick's annual cardiology check up during fair time, so we go then. Well the appt. interfered with my visiting with Suzanne, so at first he was going to go alone, then decided to reschedule. So....it worked out GREAT! Now he is scheduled to go in Oct. 6th, which is right in the middle of Balloon Fiesta!!! A huge hot air balloon fiesta!! So we are going this weekend to play at the fair, and will combine Dr, and balloons---I LOVE the way it worked out, and I was really glad he was here last night, he enjoyed everyone. OK---time to fold a load of laundry....bbl

FUN FUN FUN!!!! We had a great time!!! I knew we would! We talked until the restaurant was closing on us!! Then come back here and talked some more! We got a couple of pictures, will try to get them up tomorrow. Keep in mind Rick and Darrell were the photographers!!! Rick kept taking them with my butt up in the air------lol. The guys got along great, it was all good!! See ya in the morning! Tracy you will have so much fun with them!!! I tried warning them of your slight accent!!! LOL
-
She's here!!!! We chatted on FB for a few minutes, her cell doesn't get service here. Which does not surprise me a bit! Then I heard from Terri, she is going to be able to meet us, her husband is working, but Rick will be there. We are meeting at my house at 6 ish----if Suzanne and I can wait! LOL Rick doesn't even get off til 5---barring any problems, which I refuse to allow today! Kinsey just left, and she was so put out, she wanted to "see" my friend!I laughed at her, she makes like I have no friends!!! I told her she has seen my friends before and she tells me, "yeah but not one from Missouri" so serious---like THEY will be DIFFERENT! Extra arms or something!!! LMAO! Got moderation issues going on, some smart a$$ woman raising hell. I do not want to deal with her, she just makes me mad, and I have to keep my cool. I just put my camera in my purse, so I would not forget! Will be back later!!!!
-
Me too.....I'm REALLY shy...............HAH!!!!!! Just left message for Terri, hoping we can all connect tonight!!! OK, back to work for me, I am filing....uck
-
Good morning!!! I should be cleaning house for Suzanne to come, but here I am!!! LOL And I know she won't mind!! Angela, I had a lyphoma (or some such beast) tumor on the left side of my horrid stomach, and when they removed it, they told me they generally come back, well guess what! The left side is a definite muffin top, the right, is nice and flat....grrrrrr Oh well, it is better than it was! Cindy---wow, I sure hope my grandkids come into teachers like yourself! Seems like she has a good teacher this year. To be honest I was a little worried, she has taught Middle School/Jr. High for 20 years, and this year went to teaching Kindergarten. I was concerned she would be either too hard, or too lenient....but she has found a way to keep Kinsey challenged even while she teaches the ones who come in not knowing colors or shapes, or anything. So it is working out quite well. Her last name is McKenzie. In preschool, they referred to Kinsey often, as Miss Kinsey, so she calls her teacher Mrs. MissKinsey, rather than Mrs. McKenzie!!! She said don't correct her, it is cute, I might change my name!! LOL Well, I better hit the shower, I have lunch plans!!! Then dinner plans, I could get used to this!
-
Was good to hear from Suzanne, will be anxious to meet up with her tomorrow!!! YAY!!!! We went and spent a chunk of change tonight, bought a new wood splitter, a bigger one. One that is more versatile than what we had. And 3 times bigger! Ay yi yi!!! Will be nice, but was not nice to my pocketbook!!! LOL, Jenn, I just kinda sat here, and looked at myself, and described what was there!! LOL Will be on the phone with Terri in the morning. Suzanne, we will probably go grab dinner, then I figured, maybe just hang out in the yard, and talk----unless there is something you want to do. During the day there would be lots we could take in, but at night, not so much around here!!! LOL See y'all in the morning!
-
Dang that Rick he can't keep quiet!!! Hehehe What am I good at pray tell??????
-
Good morning~ Having a hard time getting going this morning. Kinsey is on the bus, and I need to get ready to take my Mom to town shopping. Ugh.....just lazy! Describe myself.....tall, 5'9"......unlike Jenn, my weight is not evenly distributed!!! I am built more like a linebacker! I carry my weight up top, broad shoulders, large chested.....and narrow hipped. I have never ben able to buy sets of clothes, I have always had to do separates. I have dark blonde/light brown hair....long, way longer than I want it to be right now, but I am growing out bangs, then will do what I want with it! It is wierd hair!!! It used to be straight and much lighter blonde! Then following chemo, it has become extremely curly, to a point of frizz in some areas, and merely wavy in other areas. I straighten it most days, other days let it go!!! Large eyes, blue gray in color, bony nose, thin lips, wish they were fuller....but alas, they are not! A decent smile (thanks to a good dentist!!!), kind of a squared off oval face shape. Fairly small ears, fitting for my size I would say---each pierced once only. I was told by my dentist, the face should ideally be in equal 3rds. From the hairline to the top of the nose, like between your eyebrows, then from there to just under the nose, and from there to the base of the chin, each section should measure the same......one thing in me that is exactly as it should be!!! LOL I favor casual clothes---denim, whether it is capris or full length jeans. I like V necks in my shirts. I had to have a thyroidectomy, and t shirts, or shirts that come across the general area of my scar make me feel like I am choking. During the summer, I am in flip flops ----I have dozens! LOL I need to wear glasses to read! Oh yeah and to drive at night. I am finding myself needing them more and more! I have contacts, and they go in fine, coming out is my issue!! But I have allergies so bad through this time, they are not possible. Normally I wear my nails long, but with the recent wood gathering, I cut them all off short, and am thinking I like it! I wear my wedding rings, and a watch on the left, and some sort of ring (I have lots!!!) on the ring finger of my right hand. Wish I could say my skin is tight and smooth.....unfortunately, it is much more "supple" than ever before!!! Yes I said supple, not saggy!!! LOL Wrinkles.....wow! I am getting them! Not sure how I feel about them, I want to age gracefully, but I am not enjoying the visible things happening! OK, that is me! I have a bit of a sore throat again this morning, and one eye is tearing again. I am so ready for this to be over! Rick was really sick again last night, he went to bed way early----like he is relapsing. I told him working as hard as he was, was not a good idea, but what do I know??!! Well, I am going to get ready to go, so maybe Mom can be done in time for me to get Kinsey off the bus. My baby with her loose tooth......sniff sniff!
-
Jenn--ya just WOW them with so much GOOD stuff, the belly yuck is a non issue. Just ask my husband, I worked with this theory for years, and he is a happy man!!!! LOL We are not 21 any more, and quite likely the men you will meet and eventually open up to in that manner, will not be perfect either. They may be losing their hair, or the 6 pack is more of a keg.....you are not expecting perfection in him, just the same as he shouldn't b e from you...... Just MHO......... Dazzle 'em with your other attributes!!!! LMAO!
-
Good afternoon....damn, almost made it this morning! It is 12:03!!! LOL Kinsey spent the night, so it has been a busy morning. And she woke me up screeching at her Papa-----with sad news......she has her first loose tooth. My baby is going away so fast, to be replaced by this adorable opinionated little girl!!! She was awake in her room, and Rick talked to her, but he come in to the LR and was watching TV--I was sleeping in! It was only 7! When I heard her yell PAPA!!!!!!! And she was flying in to tell him, when I heard her say her tooth was loose, I was just sad. I am not seriously sad about it, I mean I want her to grow up normally, but since Manda refuses to build me another baby, I was wanting to hang onto this one for awhile longer......first school, now big teeth! LOL Cindy, I am so sorry you are sick! Keep ahead on the fever/pain meds, and hopefully they will help til the antibiotics begin working. My DD had strep terribly 2-3 times a year for 10 years, then finally they removed her tonsils, and she has only had it a couple of times since. Tracy---I wish I had magic words for starting over. I am not to the point I was to start over, but I have not taken off the rest of this weight I regained. I know we are not in the minority, I see it in all of us the complacency after awhile....I guess. I mean my band worked, there is no question there, I am in much better health, I lost a lot of weight with it, but wish I had the attitude or whatever it was I had in the beginning. I just feel lazy----seriously lazy lately! Yesterday we took the tree down----and I did not want to do anything! There is huge amounts of wood, and tons of work to be dealt with, and I just didn't want to do anything. Wish I knew the answer. Maybe Jenn has it, maybe we all need a new goal---a new hobby or plan of action to energize ourselves! Angela, wish I was closer, I like high school ball. I don't much care to go to our local games, the new coach is not the type I care for, he allows them to beat other teams 72-0. That was last weeks game. You know when it gets that way, put in the 2nd string, and allow the other team some dignity. Hope Zach is enjoying it! I have a nephew who is a senior this year he is 6'4" and about 230 pounds, wearing a size 14 shoe.....he is half Navajo, and wears a mohawk, and talk about intimidating!!! Handsome as can be tho!! Shar, sorry---remind me again what kind of work you do----your post intrigued me, but made me realize, my memory, left, along with my energy!!! Michelle, Do what you have to do to stay away from the 200 mark---I will help in any way I can. That goes for all of you! Debbie, I love the humor too---like Tracy, I can laugh at the dark stuff, and usually I am the butt of my own jokes, so I related to that! Cracks me up Tracy and Angela meeting all the time without plans. Terri and I have not done that, but I have not gone anywhere either, besides as Angela said, hauling wood!! So....since we cannot do it accidentally, Terri, we need to hook up!!! Suzanne should be here Tues. or Wed. so hopefully then! I will charge my camera and we will post some pics. And Debbie, you just have to take my word, we are GORGEOUS! OK, off to clean the kitchen, my granddaughter wanted pancakes and sausage, so guess what I am cleaning up?????

No rest....BUT....the tree is down, chickens are safe....and we will be splitting wood for the next month!!! We already stacked an easy 2 cords, and have well more than that to go. It is up the hill from our house, and is going to be a pain to get in for burning, but worth it. We sent my Dad, the guy who helped cut it and my brother off with truck loads of wood. It is not great smelling wood as it burns....but it is gonna get burned none the less!!! I am just out of the shower, and we have a bike to deliver. So better get moving, again. Oh yeah, I went for a ride on the chopper yesterday----wow!!!! Different from the tourer let me tell ya!!! BBL
-
Not sure how today will go, I will either be outside and busy all day, or in here bugging the crap out of y'all because I am nervous!!! The big tree up on the hill is coming down today.....YIKES!!!! Slept in til about 8:30, run out to the little flea market with Rick, he needed a 9/16ths socket, he lost from a set, and there is a tool guy there....so we went and got it, then come home, and all the guys are showing up now. I don't mean to be rude, but I honestly between us, hope they do not bring wives with them.....I am NOT in an entertaining mood. I took my allergy meds (mine are out of control too) and am just drugged. Would like nothing better than to sit around and read, or play games, but NOT visit with women I don't know well, and one I just simply don't care much for!!! LOL how is that for honest??? Being paged......bbl!

What is the rudest thing someone has said to you?!?!
Kat817 replied to auntlucy's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I look back and kind of laugh about it now, but, I definitely didn't then..... I was at an appt. with my PCP, who had a new "nurse" that does the weight, BP, gets the info before you see the Dr. So she walks me over, I step up on the dreaded scale, and she looks at me, and puts the first weight on 150, I ignored her, and of course she had to move it up, I motioned for her to move it up again, then again. Her eyes getting bigger every time, she is LOUD and totally freaked out that I weigh "almost 300 pounds"! Her words not mine! So we move on into the exam room---the scale is of course in the middle, where anyone around or in other rooms could see and hear....terrible set up. Anyway, I sit up on the exam table, and she is in a chair below me, and she says to me "Oh my God, you have the skinniest ankles, I cannot believe they hold you up!" I said something about my feet and ankles being the only skinny thing I have, and she tells me "I know!" Then every so often in the questions she would just say "I cannot get over your weight, I would never have guessed you to be that heavy---EVER!". Well good for her! I mentioned to the Dr. he needed to discuss it with her, he was embarassed by it! She was not there the next time, but I have no idea if it was related or not. She was not like she was meaning to be mean and rude, she was just stupid!!! I do get lots of "taking the easy way out" comments. Who cares!!! I always ask them, why wouldn't you do something to make things easier?? I use a newfangled machine to wash my clothes these days too!!! DUH! Best comment???? 30th school reunion, and a guy I had not seen in the interim, telling me I had not changed at all, he would have known me anywhere! Yeah it felt good!!! -
Hey y'all, thanks for sharing in my happiness over Manda's good news. There are still visible lesions, that indicate cellular changes, so he prefers to remove fairly soon, but will be able to schedule it, and not have treatment. Yeeehaw!!! We took my MIL and FIL to breakfast today (Rick is off) for MIL's birthday. Then we come home, split the rest of our wood, and stacked it, then went out to their place and split about 3/4 of a cord and stacked it too. Then my back give out. The splitter is low, and my FIL got a chair and sat there and run it----which is just a lever to push forward and then backwards. The work is loading the wood into the splitter, then picking it up off the ground and stacking it afterwards.....now I am tired!! Looks like we will go with them to dinner too. My SIL that lives here, took off to Denver with no warning, something to do with her DD. I was shocked, it is her great grandbaby that was just born.....and is home now, as of this morning! They made him stay an extra day because his blood sugar was too low, he refused to eat. They made him mad, and finally he ate....and up come his blood sugar! Anyway, there is no one else to take them out for anything. We figured, since his Mom always favors this sister, she would be taking them to dinner, so we did breakfast-----and she called while we were having breakfast, saying she was headed to Denver to get her DD. So now MIL wants to go to a mexican restaurant, a friend owns, and no one to take her!! Tag we are IT! LOL I did some medical field stuff, for awhile----years ago, and then more recently, in the optical side. When I took the recent job, I took it expecting to be in the lab full time, well then they morphed me into the front office, and I hated that!!! I ran labs for several years in the past.....like it a lot, I like that side of it, not the patient side!! I have no patience for patients!!! My DD was a nurse for several years, and now works oilfield in scheduling, and as an admin assistant. Here where we live, they combine so much of the EMT and the firefighter stuff, I am not sure what the requirements are anymore. One of the advantages of the career, are that it is in demand wherever you go, and usually simple state by state certifications can be obtained. Hang in there Jenn---and have fun with it! Yeah Debbie, we have some cancer history ourselves, which is why we were so worried about my DD. I am a survivor. We lost my Grandma to it. Was a major relief. You know, being a survivor myself, I EXPECTED her to live through it, it was not a fear for her life, which may sound very naive and strange, but, the survival rate for that type of cancer is high, I was just devastated thinking of her trying to be a single Mom to a young child, and going through the chemo. To work full time, and raise a child alone is enough. Chemo, when you have no real responsibility other than your next treatment, is enough----combine the 2 and it seems so overwhelming. I was scared for that. I imagined Kinsey's fear, as her Mommy got sick, and lost her hair.....was those thoughts that had me so worried. What a tremendous relief!!! Years ago, my Mom bought my FIL a popcorn bowl, that was made to look like an old chamber pot (under the bed potty thing they used), and it had this cute little poem on it. He LOVES it, uses it all the time. MIL is put out, he does not want anyone else using it, her the grandkids, no one!!! So I found a really cool red enamel painted stainless steel popcorn bowl in Target. It says popcorn on it, and has things painted on it! Bought her that, some Orville Redenbacker Movie popcorn, and 3 movies for her birthday. she was thrilled! Buying movies for her is difficult, she wants no bad language, or sex scenes, or anything, but doesn't want kid movies either! The advantage is, she does not go to movies, and you can pick anything, and she has not seen it! Well, Manda and her new "friend" are taking Kinsey on a canoe ride tonight around the lake......I threatened her with a beating if she did not sit down and be still on it!!! She will have a life jacket, but I AM a Granny, and I AM allowed to worry!!! Hope Suzanne is having fun!!! I really should clean house, and prepare for company, but I am lazy, and she has never been here, but she knows that about me, and will accept my house as is!!! LOL Gonna go get busy----see y'all later!!
-
WoooHoooo Happy Dance!!!!!!!! Manda's tests come back with better results than hoped for. It is still eventually coming out, but there is not a current cancer diagnosis!!!! Thank You God!!!
-
Tracy, not a Greek bone in there! Both parents are 1/2 Navajo Indian, and 1/2 white. My nephew, and his brother, as well as their 2 half brothers, all have the initials of either DKD or KDD. So he wanted to continue that....but I was not crazy over the name, that is for sure, but he sure is a cute baby. He has a head FULL of hair!!! My neice put the video on of them cleaning him up, and his brand new baby cry, it was so sweet! I have been busy all morning, going to be busy the rest of the day---this house is driving me nuts, it is getting a thorough cleaning! Jenn, good for you on your class!! Shar, so glad the nausea left, that is so scary with a band. Who would have ever thought we would put so much concern into vomitting?? Michelle, when is it you see the Dr? I made my neighbor mad at me. She irritated the hell out of me the other day, and I let it be known so now she is being like a 12 year old! We pulled up from cutting wood, just to see the Trash collectors did not dump our dumpster full of tree trimmings. She pokes her head out her door before I even set foot on the ground and tells me "Don't be mad, they tried to dump it, but the truck was broke, and they couldn't lift it high enough" I said to her, hell yeah I am mad, I pay for it to be emptied, broken equipment is THEIR issue, not mine--they better come back out and get it! And she keeps repeating to me "No, now don't be mad, they tried" . I am telling you, very few things in this world seriously push my buttons like someone else TELLING ME how to feel. I am perfectly capable of deciding how to feel on my own! Grrrrrr. Finally I interupted her, and told her she could repeat it, and they could have tried all day I still expect it to be dumped, and until it is I will be mad! So for the last few days---this was Monday, she will stand at her picture window if we are out, but she acts like she doesn't see me! Good Grief! Be pissy, I honestly do not care! So a bit ago, they come with the truck, and manually dumped it. She called me immediately after they left, and yep you guessed it....I played her game, and did not answer. I was in no mood for her!!! LOL OK----time to get off my butt and back to work, or my house will end up half done! Have a good one everybody----will be back later on!
-
Good morning all.... Rick and I just got back from the Dr. he does have a full blown sinus infection. So he is home for the day, and I am playing nurse....minus the cute little short white dress!!! Trey.....southern drawls are sexy, not hicky. So there! I married an ol' Texan boy for lots a reasons, and that did not hurt. His is not pronounced....but it is there hiding....in the darlin', the y'all, lots a little things, that make my heart happy!!! But you did paint a nice image, shirtless guy on the news!!! LMAO My cousin, he has an accent now......but it is hillbilly through and through!!! I have a brand new great, great nephew!!!! He was born just over an hour ago. 8 pounds, 20 inches long! Hang on for this (horrid---IMHO) name!!! Kyros Demarius!!!! They plan on calling him Ky, I already do, poor baby, what a name!!!! Well, I am off to play nurse maid!!! Good to see everyone here this morning. I will check in and out as I can through the day.

LOL Cindy-----I too am a PB pumpkin addict. Shall we start a 12 step for it? Hi, my name is Kat and I am a PB pumpkin addict, I have been clean for 5 months......but the demons are back! LOL This is not meant to make fun of those who depend on a 12 step program! Got the 2nd truck unloaded, but there is an entire side yard full of HUGE wood waiting to be split, and Rick is sick. So, it is going to sit there for awhile. He has a massive sinus infection, poor guy. He tried to come out and help, but he can be standing there, and it is (sorry if this is gross and TMI) like someone turns on a faucet, and water---not thick, just water poors out his nose. Wierdest thing I ever saw! So I have been having like multiple personality things with all the cars outside! Normally my car is in the drive, the van and truck on the street---or we leave the truck at the farm. Well we had the little trailer behind the van with the wood splitter on it. So I had to back my car out of the drive, park it across the street, then back the van in the drive to unload the splitter. Then drive it around the block, because I don't back trailers well (!--putting it MILDLY), then park it in front of the house, then back the truck in the drive to unload the wood, unloaded it, then back the truck up, park it in front of the neighbors, because the trailer is taking up its spot, and then move my car back in the drive!!! I had a handfull of keys, and a plan!!! Got it all done too!!! Trey, see you lurking there......ya better be posting same time I am, or I am gonna report you for being a peeping Tom!!! LOL Better find a better window than mine, would not want to hurt your poor young eyes!!! Will be back in awhile, need to finish dinner.
-
Y'all keep your germs to yourself!!! Hope you all feel better soon. I have never had nausea with a fill either. I have had a fill that made me too tight, so the food sat too high, and hit my gag reflex after the 3rd bite! Slight unfill helped that. Was not a nauseated feeling, I would be fine til the third drink or bite, and it would be too much, and make me have an instant reaction! Well, I have a truck full of wood out front....the question is, do I unload it, or wait for Rick.....hmmmmmm He is bringing in the splitter tonight after work to split the big stuff, I could have it all emptied, and the big stuff to the side, so.....we will see, it is not happening for awhile!!! Suzanne, looks like you are having fun!! Enjoy Disney!!! Gonna go call my Mom, see how they are. Being gone all day yesterday, I have not talked to them, so time to check in. BBL

Hey y'all! First, I think I should tell Debbie, that her computer needs to "read" Tracy's posts with a really strong Texan drawl!!! LOL The next thing that come to mind was about the carrot cake. Did I tell you about my carrot cake drinks? We were at a little bar in Deadwood SD, they were SOOOOOOO good! 2 will put ya in Lala land!!! 2 shots of Buttershots (butterscotch Schnapps) a shot of Hot Damn (cinnamon Schnapps) and then about a shot and a half of Baileys Irish Cream. Nothing else. All liquor---has a mild kick, but not a strong alcohol taste, and it tastes like carrot cake with icing!!! You have to try it!!! We went with my cousin and got about a cord and a half of wood today, which basically finishes us off for the year, we should have plenty to burn for the year. My folks are done, my brother is done, We are buying a load for my inlaws, and expecting the siblings to do the same, and then they will be done. YAY!!!!! Cindy, sorry to hear it sounds like you have a rough year ahead of you. I cannot believe school is in full session again! It seems like we were just discussing that you were doing a short stint at summer school---to ME it seems like you had no vacation, I cannot imagine how quickly it must have flown by for you!!! Debbie, my DD and her former husband, lived on Oahu for 4 years, during that time we got to tour the islands, and spend some time on each, I loved Maui. I wish I still had an inside, I loved having her there for vacations!!! Unfortunately most of the people she knew while there, were also military, so none are still there..... My Mom plays piano, and for awhile my DD showed an interest, but then sports took her over!! Personally I was a drummer!!! I still LOVE, being able to occasionally sit at a set.....and pretend I am much better than I ever was!!! Yes I forgot to mention, I did not forget him, just forgot to mention, our only male poster. (I almost referred to him as our male member....ay yi yi, Trey will have a hey day with that!!!!!) He checks in just often enough to razz us when necessary!!! Jenn, enjoy your classes!!! Rick put a bike out on the patio today----he better have it off before Suzanne gets here, I do not want an obstacle course of motorcycles for her!!! Well, I am off to kick back, and do NOTHING.....I am tired!!! See ya manana.

Welcome Debbie! Some of us are married, some are not, some have kids, some do not, some of us (ahem yours truly) are older than the others!!! We all get along despite all the differences!! We have our bands in common, but it has gone beyond that...and we genuinely care about one anothers lives, and in our world where getting out and chatting with your neighbor everyday seldom happens....we have each other! Please feel free to join in, it is wonderful to have new voices, and opinions, and ideas!!! You and Shar both, please, post away!!!! Offer your support, and please accept ours when you need it! We did a rally loop today up through CO. Rick decided not to show his bike, getting up and getting there for the register time was just pushing it!!! We come home, mowed the lawn, moved out an old cabinet, and moved my filing cabinets to the garage, so I can make my attempt at organizing more things in ONE place, instead of some here and some there!!! Then we went and visited with my cousin, and his gf/wife---whatever!! This cousin is very intelligent, he held a high rank in the Navy when he retired, and when he did, he adopted this hillbilly persona, and you would swear up and down he is ignorant, or slow!!! We sat out at their place, which is like living in a barn! He raises high dollar mules, and they live better than he does! I help him imprint his colts, and we have been very close for years, in spite of his new persona! Anyway we sat out there and had a couple of beers, and chatted the afternoon away. Tomorrow we are going after what looks to be our last load of wood. The above mentioned cousin is coming with us. They offered, and acted like they wanted to go to the forest, so who are we to turn down a couple of extra chain saws running?? LOL Just got a call from TX, and we have cows out.....I hate that, Rick will stress over it, and it isn't like we can drive down the block and look for them! And how it is always OURS that are out, I haven't figured that out yet either!! Tracy, hope you are feeling better! My allergies are going nuts, these weeds are killing me! I am soooooo not wanting winter, but I am almost ready for a freeze to get rid of them! YUCK! I sneeze over and over and over. Now my nose bleeds everytime I sneeze. I take meds, but all they do is make me sleepy!!! Tomorrow before we leave I am taking some sinus meds, they on the other hand wire me up! So ..... Anywa, welcome new friends, and hey to all you oldies!!!! Everyone have a great Labor Day!!! Will check in sometime tomorrow night if I don't go straight to bed!!!
