Terri, Rick's co worker is supposed to get with Rick to give him the details on where this park is. I'll pass on the info. I am going to PM you my cell # again, as well as Rick's. We too are headed to Albq. early in the morning, he has a cardiologist appt. at the Heart Hospital at 9. We will be nearby if you have any problems on the road or anything. As for the negative posts. Have you went out onto another area, and started a thread saying "Another good day" or "Problem free fill"? Probably not, most people don't. We get busy with things, and other than coming here for friendship and support, we tend to come when we are having problems, so there is a higher percentage that look to be having issues than not, but in reality, those of us not having any problems, are just not posting daily about all being good. And other than long lasting friendship, many who have been banded as long as I have, have made goal, and left LBT.....just living normal lives, no longer feeling a need of the boards. Here we have no other support, and have to go so far to a Dr. it is priceless to me, especially if I have a question or concern that may be band related. That is not to say that you shouldn't proceed with caution, and follow your Dr.'s orders, just keep in mind, that many don't post unless they need help. Well I am off to finish dinner. Jenn the building is huge----I had no idea!!! I was imagining a muddy lot with early construction phase---like we get here!! LOL

I think the bat would be cute. I sent Amanda one year as the cutest spider you ever saw!!! I dressed her in a black one piece long sleeve dance set----then took black knee high panty hose, and stuffed them, and attached them to the shirt part--she wore white gloves, and we put white gloves on the end of each of her additional legs---2 extra on each side, and she wore white tenny shoes. I hooked the ends of the new legs together with elastic thread made for jewelry making, so each time she moved her arms, they ALL moved. Then we put big long fake black eyelashes on her and a little black derby hat. She was adorable. Won a prize even. However she did not like it----she wanted to be a scary spider! Yeah----sure-----grrrrr!!! Kids! Speaking of kids, Kinsey just walked in, in a winter coat, and gloves---it is down into the 20's this morning. Do you realize in 2 months, Christmas will just be a memory? It was 2 months from yesterday----how scary is that???!!!! LOL I have to get my shopping done for taking to Texas! Maybe Rick and I can do some this weekend, since he is no longer on call and not gonna go get himself "lost"!!! LOL Gotta go do the girlies hair! See ya afterwhile.

When beginning the roller derby thing, my DD was figuring out a name for herself, we laughed ourselves senseless! The obvious Simpsons lead in... AmandaHug&Kiss led to Amandajumphisbones to Amandawhipupon... Amandacallmyown..... They went on for ever!!! any sentence you can begin with A man to........ Then she changed to Amandamonium (pandamonium).......and it was denied. So she now has a picture of a woman with a big ol black eye, and her name is Eye Candi Mandi....and under the picture it says "I'll dot your eye". Both the "i's" look like shiners. Silly girls! She has yet to regain use of her shoulder enough to be released to skate......

We scare Trey....then all is as it should be. Today was MONDAY!!! Through and through!!! The election officials made a judgement call back pre primary to eliminate some clerical work, with a simple change of a click on the computer---in the case of a spoiled ballot. Well months later, they now caught a man trying to vote twice, and see where without dilligent employees----lol---ok without experienced employees, it could happen! So in other words, employees working one day---election day, without all the daily seeing of these issues, might let them vote!!! They have been goign nuts at work all day! Then a woman got mad because she would not give me her birth year, because "ur secretary of state is a crook and does not need that information" she says. I explain to her,#1 she cannot talk like that in a polling place and #2 we ALREADY have the info, she just has to confirm it as a way of identifying herself, as we are not allowed by state law this time to demand a picture ID. She stormed out went to the clerk complaining. Then another man come in with a candidate advertising hat on---and when ask to remove it and put it where it could not be seen, got pissy because he was "2 years old and damn well able to dress himself". He too had voter issues, he was sent an absentee ballot so was sent to the clerks office. Ay yi yi ---glad to be home! One more week, and I am DONE, at least with the public! They are not all nice to me like Terri was!!! It is blowing hard and raining, and cold here today, so glad I put a pot of beans on to cook when I left---make some cornbread and calling it dinner. It is one of Rick's favorites, so it is all good! Ashley I would not fear being thought the person with the most mice, that is not excessive if they found an entrance and with the weather changing. I have a friend who lives down the road from me, he house sits with its back to the alley, and on the other side of the alley sits the feed store. They have grain, and hay and all sorts of goodies stored out there, but also have cats, and poison, so the mice seek her house as a safe haven, and she catches tons of them. I would be freaked out, but she takes it all in stride. The way my dog chases the laser, and loves to pounce on it, or anything moving quickly, I think a mouse would be a goner!! One of the secretary's at Ricks work went down and adopted my dogs brother! They are neutering him today and she gets him tomorrow. She said when she went in, he was very docile and easy to settle down, and obeyed simple commands. She and her husband wanted a dog, but not a puppy, she did not want to try to train one. They told her this guy was housebroke----which ours was so hope she has as good of luck. We decided after she gets him settled in to meet in Farmington, I guess they have a dog park---I didn't even know that!!! Anyway Rick said he would like to get them together to see how they act! LOL Well my neighbor called and all thoughts I had are gone! Will check in later, going to go build a fire!

Thanks all of you! It was an ordeal for sure! Cindy I was just getting ready to tell Ashley the same thing, mice WILL chew the foam, Steel wool is the way to go to close those gaps. It sounds like you have an infestation, and it will take awhile, but once you get things under control you can stay on top of it, and it will not be a problem. We live on the last row of homes, so behind our house is nothing but open land. And we are in an area rife with the kangaroo mouse----the little critter that made hantavirus famous! We make sure EVERY kind of food we have---from dog food to our food is in some sort of container---plastic tupperware kind of things. We keep DCon out----we do not have small children in the garage area---and that is where they would come in first. We only recently got this dog, so now we moved all the DCon off the floor into the higher shelves. We keep it in our outbuildings. Only thing I have had to use mousetraps for of late was to keep the neighbors cat off of my lawn furniture!!! LOL Rick give the dog a bath tonight! We had to wait til her stitches were safe to get wet. She sat in the shower without issue whatsoever!!!! When he finished bathing her he got in the shower himself, scrubbed it down then took his own shower, and she sat and whined to get back in the entire time!!! The lab in her coming out I guess, the love of water! One more week of early voting, then I have a precinct on election day, and I will be done for awhile!! They have to get the election wrapped before I can go in to update the cards we are getting. Lots of address changes.....things like that. It would be easy, but about every 5th one, is reservation, and they have these moronic addresses like 1/2 mile east of the Gorman store. Or .2 miles northwest of the Beclabito chapter house. Then I have to go to the books and find the landmark, and figure out what "town" and precinct they will fall in. It makes it take 20 times as long! Will be glad for it to be over this time. It is difficult with Kinsey in the morning, and I am ready for my normal routine to be back! Meanwhile the check in the bank was nice. I will go do my Christmas shopping for the kids in Lousiana this next couple of weeks so we can take it to Texas with us. Think I have the kids figured out, what I want to buy----not so much the parents!!! I went to Sams Club, saw the Lincoln Logs I wanted for Connor---$50 bucks!!! WOW! I know they were more reasonably priced back in the day or we would not have had them!!! LOL Well I am heading to bed, 5 comes awful damn early!

    Election Issues

Everyone needs to quit with the language, and quit with the pointing fingers, and either get on with the topic at hand or let the thread die a natural death. The arguing gets nowhere, and ends up causing many problems. Politics is a subject that causes emotion to run high, and one that is obviously divided naturally. This thread IS in Rants and Raves, and off topic of lap band, no one has problem with that. It is the language, when referring to other people and actions such as that that have to stop. Let's get back to topic.

Oh Man guys---it was one helluva night. Ended up with Rick being fine, totally confused, and somewhat (more than that really) embarrassed by the hoopla. And in the end the dispatcher no longer has a job. It began yesterday afternoon, they had 2 jobs going in Colorado---one above Dolores, and one in Dove Creek. Both needing mechanics. These jobs are being done out of the main office in Grand Junction, who is the parent and wheels of our local yard. Well their mechanic was MIA---he too will likely be on the cutting block. So the dispatcher called Rick---rather than a back up in Grand Junction. Rick questioned it, but was told he was supposed to go, so he went. he was told to go to Dolores. He did. He called me at 3:30 from a small town near there---all was fine, but from there he goes off paved road etc. I didn't talk to him long as my brother had just walked in. And my brother, with his mental state takes offense very easily over things such as being ignored. So now we fast forward to 7:30 ish, and his co worker calls me because they cannot contact Rick and the job supervisor is saying he never showed up. So locally they began calling him, work cell, personal cell ( a friend had the #) and the truck phone---all went unanswered. So they communicate back and forth with the location boss and determine he has not been on location, he never signed in. So they log on to locate his black box in the truck----and there is no signal at all. No GPS signal----nothing. Black box is dead. So....they make the decision to send out search and rescue---and locally they leave heading to the little town I talked to him at then, they plan to split up and go in several directions. They would not allow me to ride along, but promised me a ride as soon as they knew anything. Them taking this as serious as calling search and rescue scared me to death! There is new snow, and very muddy roads, so I was figuring a simple slide off the road and stuck, without phone service. I know I let it panic me last night, but I still felt SURE I would know if it was dire, but....maybe that is hind sight!! Well they get headed up there, and a Colorado hiway patrol calls in that he has been located, and is fine. He has no cell service in the roads he is on. So his coworkers hopped in together---two of them---and head on up to where he is at, because they think at this time he is in deep doo-doo. They get to the road the cop told them, and there is Rick with a tow truck driver, helping to hook up a big Halliburton iron truck. He has no idea what is going on! They ask him why he didn't sign in, he says he did. They tell him the boss claims he never showed up, He was livid! He told them the location is less than 8 miles ahead, go check on him. Well one of the guys IS his boss, so they go up, and there bigger than Dallas is Rick signed in, hours charged, notations on the paperwork etc. So they call dispatch back----and get the big wheels involved, and come to find out, dispatch sent Rick to Dolores, when he checked in , they logged him as the Grand Junction mechanic, and were waiting for Rick to show up in Dove Creek. He didn't even know there were problems in Dove Creek. So then they got to the black box. 6 different write ups have been made on it not working, and the electronic techs have ignored it. The dispatcher when he couldn't find it, lied about suddenly losing contact with it. So it was a series of screw ups due to the dispatcher---but I tell ya, they had us here totally scared to death! Rick was working, he had no clue! Now that all is fine, it just embarrasses him, because everyone was looking for him, thinking he had screwed up! Just glad he is ok. He is already out there again today, the tow truck was not heavy duty enough to tow with iron on the truck, so they dropped the trailer, and he has to go pick it up today. So another day off for me that he is working. He will have probably 180+ hours on his paycheck. Can you believe that??? Uncle Sam will love it! Anyway, he was home, and therefor I slept ok! Was stressful as hell. And Manda was upset and wanted to be here, I was not up to putting on a front for Kinsey, so her feelings are hurt, I need to mend that fence today. I mean I know she understands, but she was scared too. So....laundry today. Need clean pants after last night. Plan to grill out......IF he makes it home at a decent time. We'll see. Supposed to drop off again temperature wise here this week---so plan to go walk the dog at the river again. I want to ride so bad, but there is so much mud, and cleaning hooves sucks!!!! We'll see. Sorry so much drama!!! Thank you all for being there......I needed to vent without scaring anyone else ---Mom, son etc. without knowing anything yet. Glad I didn't bother them. Thank you so much!

good news is, we did find out there is absolutely NO cell service up there, which may play into things---but there are several men headed his way regardless. And the leader of the job is out of a job it sounds like......it is his responsibility in these cases to check each employee dispatched there in and out, and report any who have not shown up. He did nothing. Hoping an irresponsible employee and no service are the answer. Still not comfortable with that, but hoping. Thanks Ashley....appreciated more than I know to say.

hey y'all, I am here because I don't know what else to do with myself. Rick is missing.......his coworker called me to see if I had heard from him, which I haven't since 3:33PM---he called from the bottom of the hill he was headed to for the location...he called from a town called Mancos, he had another 40 miles to go or so. I didn't talk to him, my brother had just walked up so I told him I would call him back----I tried, and no answer. I tried several times, no answer. I figured he was out of the truck working on the problem. A little while ago, the co worker called, and said they were concerned because he never checked in, he never made it to location. The best they can tell, since it is a Colorado crew, not all of them even know Rick, or know he is coming, and the connection to speak with them is through a dispatcher. But no one thinks Rick made it there. He has not responded to either his work cell phone, personal cell phone or truck radio. I am scared. I was figuring he was going to be late, so changed my mind was going to keep Kinsey---cancelled that. Waiting to hear from the district manager, to see who is going looking for him to see if I can go with them or if I need to leave on my own. I am not sitting here wondering if he is off the side of an embankment, or hit elk, or what is wrong with him. I want to go find him. This is TOTALLY unlike him. I am seriously scared. Tears keep falling, unchecked. I almost feel afraid to be afraid---if that makes any sense. Manda keeps calling, she wants to come stay with me, I don't want the distraction, don't want Kinsey seeing me freak out unless we know there is reason to freak out. Please add him to my Mom and pray he is ok. I love him.

Michelle, have Teagan, lay with her head in your lap and her eyes CLOSED! Tip her head slightly one direction and like to the left for the right eye----and place the drops in the closed inside corner of her eye, by the bridge of her nose. Then tell her to open her eye as you ever so slightly roll her head back to the right. It will make a pool of meds in the corner and they will roll right into her eye as she opens it and the medication rolls in. Works for adults too who miss when trying to drop the drops into an open eye. It will not be a sudden splash, it will just wash into the eye. Then do the other side. Sounds much more complicated thinking which direction, than it is to just do it----you'll see!! About 10 minutes before I got off, Rick called me, and he was called in to work. Kicker is, he has to go waaaaaay into Colorado. The Grand Junction crew cannot get ahold of their mechanic on call, so they called Rick out. It is a 4 hour drive, then to check the equipment, and repair, then 4 hours home. it is snowing in CO, so it could be much longer. Another Saturday night spent alone........grrrrrrrrr Gonna be one helluva paycheck he says. Not caring much about that right now! The weekend in the field last week, threw him into this week being entirely OT. We had planned to go to a movie. Manda would like us to babysit, but thinking I am pretty grouchy about him being at work again, Kinsey would be better off if I didn't. Besides Manda left her last Saturday......and she is the Mommy not me! I need to clean house----guess I will get that done, then will feel better maybe. See y'all in awhile..................

"dog snacks" eeeewwww!! But SO common with dogs, we laughed ourselves silly over a friend commenting that her dog was eating "kitty cookies"---so gross!!!! LOL When Manda was little we were in a restaurant, and she freaked out, had everyone in the place laughing---a Village Inn family if you will---because she screeched at a man "don't eat that!!!" Then turned to me and told me "that man is eating cat poopies".....he had picked up a link sausage and was attempting to eat it......not sure if he ever did eat it!! I apologized, he was very nice, I was very embarassed that I had a kid old enough to know not to eat cat poopies and still did not recognize link sausage!!! LOL She was the same child who had to be taught at 12 on the 4th of July how to light a match!!! Sheltered? jus' a little!! I am off to work shortly---Rick has already been called in. Fixed some breakfast, ate part of an egg, but breakfast is just a hard time for me to eat. So picked a bit, will be fine til I get off at 2. Tracy, if all they had out for us to choose from was pumpkin stuff I could lose weight like mad this time of year, I don't care for pumpkin.....anything. Well the PB reeces SHAPED like pumpkins I like!!! LOL Maybe you can remember the feeling of regret next time, and just share a little one with Macy or something. Used to be Kinsey and I could get a kiddie size, share and have left overs for Rick. she does not eat anymore ice cream than she ever did, a few spoonfuls and she is done. Unfortunately Granny has increased her ice cream intake. My weight is stable. It is not stable where I would like it so much(!) but it remains right in a 2 pound range no matter what it seems! But I am not stressing it.....will do my best to make some good decisions, and allow it to drop....but seriously focus more on health than the #. Wish me luck with this. Would you all be so kind as to remember my Mom in your prayers. she is not doing good at all. She is losing the will to fight the pain she is in, and she is giving up hope. It is scaring me, and she is for all intents and purposes ready to move to a wheelchair. She sees a surgeon next month to discuss removing the tumor on her parathyroid, they are thinking perhaps it is causing enough of an imbalance in her electrolites, and leaching enough calcium to be the cause of the increased pain. The risks to the surgery are pretty difficult for her to accept. The risk of facial muscle damage is high. But she just needs to feel hope again. Thanks in advance my friends. Gotta run! Time to go!

Angela---go to the top of the page, almost all the way to the right, there is a tab called "Quick Links" click it, then go down to "Edit Options", then on the left hand side "change user name is all the way to the bottom. You will choose a name, and then when it is checked against already used names, they will email you with it, and when it is changed, all your former posts will change with it. Went to Outback with Becky & Gary. Was a nice night, but the service sucked, our food was not great, the steak was tuff. And Gary could not quit talking politics---I get it ALL day and we have differing opinions, so it was not a good thing! Becky and I had a great time! she had her hair cut and colored today it looked so good, made me jealous!!! I have to work tomorrow 10-2. Was supposed to be off, but the other woman who works that was scheduled is out of town for a family funeral. So it is me! Rick has to work part of a day too, so it will be ok. Then I think we will go to a movie! Do not choke on this, but he wants to see Jackass!!! LOL The guys at work are laughing about things he now wants to see for himself! Thank goodness there will be popcorn!!! LOL Tracy, I am with the others, any loss is good! Besides, once a week weighing is very difficult, if you ate anything salty, your fluid retention could account for several pounds! If I eat a single handful of sunflower seeds, I will put on 5 pounds.....seriously! I will go away quickly, but it is there none the less! Salt affects me. Well I am headed to bed, I am so sleepy!!! See y'all tomorrow. Hey Angela, maybe you should be "Mikeylikesit"!!!! Remember the old Life cereal commercials....you are probably too young!!!

You guys should go look at Chokecherry Canyon Rock crawling ---I am sure there are pictures. It hosts several HUGE rock crawling events, TV publicized events. Chokecherry is about 20 minutes from us. Sandstone rocks abound around here. It is a very popular hobby. We are heading out to walk the dog at the river. No second dog, we called about him, but have not got a call back. BBL

yes she does Trey. She is actually addicted to chasing the laser light, she is hilarious. This last weekend my 5 year old granddaughter spent the night, and they were inseperable, they rolled on the floor in a blanket, and played for hours, she is as gentle as can be. Fate intervened when she chose us!

OMG Trey---it truly has been a shitty year for you. I am so terribly sorry for your loss of your dogs. My heart finally healed enough from the loss of mine to get a new fur child. Izzy is (why do I always want to type Izzy iz....?) settling in really well, someone worked with her a lot! She is housebroke, leash trained, stays off the furniture, loves other dogs, and thinks cats are fun things to chase, but it is with a wagging tail! She sits and shakes on command. We found out last night she has a brother, still up for adoption in Farmington---a town 12 miles away. He looks just like her! I was not planning on 1 dog this size let alone 2, but not sure I can keep my husband from bringing home the other! LOL I will cope with it if it happens. I know they would be happy. Anyway she is a "boxador" 1/2 boxer and 1/2 labrador. So far it has been a wonderful time with her. Ashley sorry about the delay in introducing myself. I am Kat---banded in 2006. Got to goal weight, regained during a trying time, and have about 30 to go again! I am married to Rick, happily no less! Together we have 3 kids, and 6 grandkids. We live in the NW corner of New Mexico, about 12 miles from the Colorado border. We are about 50 miles from the 4 corners. Our DD's live locally, and our son moved to Louisiana last summer taking 2 of my grandsons with them.....sad, sad time. I am currently working, for early voting, following election, I will again be a housewife. OMG guys it is hailing HARD---HUGE! gonna shut down bbl

Michelle, until you get the eye drops try warm saline compresses, ---- warm---almost hot, salt water, soak a washrag and let it lie on her eye---it will also help to loosen the gunk come morning. Simalson puts out an OTC pink eye relief----it is for itch and gunk relief only, it is not antibiotic. bbl.....headed shopping!

LOL Trey, you are sooooo abused. Aren't ya glad you like that!!?? Welcome Ashley, this is a good group of people, very diverse, very honest, and supportive without being cheerleaders!!! LOL Made spaghetti for dinner.....why? I cannot eat much of it, it is a hard thing for me, the pasta is. But ate a couple of meatballs, and some pasta, about 2 hours ago, it feels like I ate 2 minutes ago. grrrrrr Went out to my inlaws. My FIL trapped a skunk. Not in a humane trap...it got caught in a coyote trap. It is near the house, and not in an ideal place to be shot---so he is in a quandry what to do. Rick is lettin ghim deal with it, he is not stepping in to this one. Could be interesting. Good thing I cut his hair today, he may not smell good tomorrow!!! I should not laugh, but it was stupid. I know the coyotes were getting his cats, and he thought the cats would never go to the area, but the skunk did, and now he has to deal with it!! My knee is hurting. I think it is the work shoes---the heels, or flats, but nothing with real support. Possibly the weather change, it is raining here. One more day of the shoes, then Fri. & Sat I can wear jeans so have full intentions of wearing my good walking shoes---they are really supportive. I wanted to walk the river tonight, but missed my chance with Rick's brother being in town tonight, the rain will change the leaves. In the morning it will be awesome the wet leaves, and dark wet bark.....but I have to be at work before the sun even thinks about coming up. So........not gonna happen!! Rick is in the backyard with the dog and the laser light, I hear him laughing! Well, I am going to get in the tub.....listen to the rain.....in the dark....totally relax. See ya tomorrow!

Michelle, a few years ago we had a miller/moth invasion. EVERYWHERE you went they were there, the night was horrid---they flew in your face, and your hair--which totally freaks me out! Before they hatch they are like a small caterpillar, wormy looking thing, and Rick said location would look like the ground was moving, it was so thick with them. One of the guys told him you could not kill them hardly, so he showed them, he took a ziplock filled it with a handful of the larvae---and took it to work and put it in the freezer. A couple of days later they took it out, let it thaw and the things began moving!!! GROSS!!!! One year on a trip we drove through upper Utah, and there were so many beetles on the road, they were using blades to clear the hiway, you could hear them crunching under the tires. There were flashing signs warning motorcylcists to not travel the roads! It was the grossest thing I have ever seen bug wise!!! Have fun at Chuck E. Cheese! I don't mind the place myself---play with the kids, it is ok. Food is not the greatest, which keeps me from gorging! Saw Terri at work this morning----she has done her civic duty and voted!!! LOL Just come home, having some left over ham for lunch, then off to give both Dads haircuts. I really want to do nothing, but.....life beckons! Suzie, I really want to take Izzy down to the river walk and walk there while it is so pretty, and I want to go riding....but working 6 days a week right now cramps those wanna do things! Well I want to get the boys Halloween box ready to send---I will talk to all of you in awhile!

Deb, I will PM you my name and info for Facebook. We took the dog walking again tonight, did a couple of miles, it is really dropping off temperature wise, it is supposed to start raining tomorrow, snow down to 8500 feet.....so in the mountains around us.....yuck! Leaves are still in the trees here, beautifully colored, but still in the trees, so no snow hopefully. Has happened before, broke all kinds of limbs and such. Today I was driving home, and crossed the river, and the trees are gorgeous, bright, bright yellow and gold, and vivid red---and just at the time I was looking at them a large V formation of Canadian geese flew over....guess there is no denying winter is coming! We got chilled on our walk, come home and made us each one of the Carrot Cake drinks we discovered on our trip to Sturgis. Warmed up, and now I am pleasantly sleepy and headed to bed! I will be going to cut both Dads hair after work tomorrow, so will check in when I can!

Hey Terri---call me and after election we will get together! Angela, doncha know we look forward to drunk postings, it gives us something to giggle about for months!! Kids that age are so hard, they HAVE to be hard edged enough to fit in without being the target of ridicule or bullying, but where to draw that line, and even when you do draw it, it gets erased and redrawn the next day! You just have to pick your battles. It may make you cringe, but in the overall view of things it is a non issue. My DD did all the things they refer to as a cowardly rebellion. Back when the girls were shaving the lower half of their hair, she was all over it...I let her cut it short---she could put it up and school and fit in, and let it down and go to dinner with the grandparents, and not look strange to them! Then she pierced her tongue---same thing, unless she was flashign it, no one knew---that was one of our serious battles, the guy who pierced her did so on a minor! I did not close him down which was my first inclination. She admitted to lying to him....like he did not know? But.....we agreed, she kept the ring a silicone ball, and small guaged---oddly enough she loved it while we were at odds over it, then when we reached an agreement over it, she took it out within the month! I seriously disliked some of her friends, some just because they were snobby---I kept my mouth shut over them. Then when the bad news ones come along, it wasn't like I had been complaining of everyone she hung with! She did great in school, and I had no complaints whatsoever from teachers. She graduated a year early, with honors----it was just me she gave grief to apparantly! Good Luck, teen years are challenging! But they are also lots of fun, and you occasionally get to see the lessons you worked so hard to teach them show through! Debbie, if they gave your friend 600 mg Motrin, it is just Ibuprofin. She can get it OTC. I know Ricks last pain Rx was 800mg. Motrin, which was going to be $15.00 co pay. Uh....he just took 4 OTC, and when he told his PCP that, he said it was fine, she should probably ask her Dr. to be on the safe side, I am not a Doc, but know what we took!! LOL My Mom is much better today, actually come out and voted, walked in. Then they went to town, and saw Dad's Dr. the biopsy he had done is clear----they were concerned he may have cancer of the tongue---but it wasn't. Thank You God! Then they went and bought Mom a new chair!! LOL Well I better get busy. Rick wants breakfast for dinner.....so going to get some potatoes cooked to make hasbrowns easier!! See y'all in awhile....

Oh cindy, I am so so sorry you are dealing with Alzheimers in your Mom. We lost my Grandma to it after MANY years, much longer than normal. Perhaps your Dad could check into the local college, many students are looking for night time jobs, that is what we used for years. We have a strong nursing program here, and worked through them, it was not cheap, but it was much better than the $4K you are looking at. Even if he just has someone come in now a couple of nights a week so he could seriously sleep. There is nothing worse than when they realize something is wrong, it rips at your heart. I will keep you, and your family in my prayers, it is a hard road to travel on. My heart goes out to you all. It is official, my granddaughter hears too many political ads on my TV in the morning. I leave the TV on the news, because to put on cartoons, she is too distracted. They do not have cable at home, so it is only here ---- and today when Manda picked her up, manda and I were not really arguing, we were on the same side, but getting the conversation heated up in how some money here was missing from the Navajo Fair. Kinsey tells us "Enough arguing already, they spend too much money, my name is Kinsey J.........and I approve this message"!!!!! Had to share that.

Home from another day at the polls, another busy day! My Mom is doing some better, I made her sit on the sofa and stay out of her broke down chair!!! I think IT is a big part of her problem. She hurts, partly FROM that chair, so what does she do? Sits, IN that chair and gets worse. So yesterday I used one of infamous Grandma sayings on her and told her that in order to change something, she had to change something. So change the chair, or her exercise routine, or whatever, but unless she made a change, not to expect anything to change. She has not sat in her chair for almost 24 hours now, and can actually walk without the walker......seems like a positive step to me.....yeah pun intended!!! Angela, we did some paver bricks, and I swear that was so much harder than making and pouring cement!!! I smashed my finger to the point of losing my nail---was NOT pretty for almost a year! Everytime we powerwashed we had to resand......so while I like ours....cement worked best for us. And girl, I am a cement mixing fool!!! LOL, we have a mixer, and we go get the truck filled with sand/gravel mix, then buy the bags of portland cement. I add Water, and only I know where to add it to!!! Then 1 can of cement mix----large 3 lb coffee cans---then 12 cans of sand and gravel, then 2 -3 more of cement, and add more water! The guys all guess with the shovel----and theirs crumbled!!! I have issue with the shovel, so I use cans, and I mix while they pour and skreet --- I ama filthy mess---but I keep telling myself, each stretch each bend, what GREAT exercise it is!!! I know much more fun exercise, btw......cementing is not fun!!! And even with all that it was easier than the bricks. I feel for you!!! Have you seen the solar motion lights? We use them in our woodshed, and on the shop. They have a solar panel, then at night motion lights up LED lights. No electricity. So if you have problems like we did with the neighbors cats, it does not raise the bill a lot! Tracy---I hope Frank's family does not dissappoint him again. Will hope for all good things. Did you get my text? My new phone is up and going....if, make that a big IF I ever figure it all out. Too much junk on it, all because Rick wants to stream music at work! I got the same phone, because I will have to figure his out anyway!! LOL Michelle, you not knitting away for Christmas this year already?? Debbie, hope your friends foot is ok, sprains seem to take forever to heal, people treat them like they are nothing, but they sure hurt! Trey---good to have you around again. Although you do make me rethink some things before I say them, because you tend to catch me on things that sound not too nice.....and we know you like the not to nice!!! Being the idiotic person I am, I am getting things ready for Kinsey to make Cookies when she gets here----my lack of control should not affect her fun I guess, will just have to try harder! See y'all in awhile!

My Mom has fibromyalgia, and it is exacerbated by stress, among other things. She began an acupuncture program recently and it has only gotten worse, seriously worse since. She is stressing over my Dads biopsy, but no idea why it has flared so badly. Especially one hip, she stood up from her chair, and that hip did not want to move like to walk, and she kind of staggered, then hit the chair which swivelled right out from under her, leaving her on the floor, it was a slow slide, so she did not hurt herself, but her hip would not allow her to put any weight on it to get up. Nor could she crawl for the same reason, so she just sat there til Dad come in from church..... I have no idea how to help. I have no idea how things are going to go in the morning, she has been coming and staying with Kinsey for the 15 minute crossover time that I have to leave for work before Kinsey gets on the bus. My Dad is coming in the morning. We have until the 28th or 29th...so 2 more weeks of this to figure out......ugh! Tracy your mini vacay sounds so much fun!!! Glad you won! Suzie, the fall days outside are so wonderful, glad you saw your family!! Michelle, soon you will be covering Teagan in the leaves, we always have fun doing that. I have pictures of only the kids faces peeking out---you cannot tell the difference between Manda and Kinsey only in the age of the picture!! Well I am off to watch Desperate Housewives, and pay real attention!!! See you tomorrow!!!
