OMG, I am so sorry this happen to you! I would be talking to a lawyer!! You will likely not get anything financially out of them, but at least the hospital, and oral surgeon will be going after THEM for payment and not you. I am an animal lover, but dogs like that need to be humanely (sp?) put down before they kill an innocent child. Get well soon! Kat ooooh just thought of something....you will not be able to eat!! Sneaky you!!! j/k, it isn't funny, was just a lame attempt to lighten up a bad situation....get well!

I think it is just the bodies sympathetic reaction. Same as my nose runs when I cry. Sliming, is an over production of saliva...thick saliva, the body is sending to try to help slide whatever is stuck on through. Usually tho the pouch is full, and there is nowhere for the excess saliva (slime) to go...so it gets spit out and spit out and spit out! Anyway that is my guess!!! Kat

Blood thinning injections before and after surgery??
Kat817 replied to DGM's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I was given 2 injections of Lovenox following surgery. My Dr. here recommended it as well since I would be flying so soon following surgery. My DH has been taking the Lovenox shots along with coumadin, to deal with a blood clot he has. With something this serious, (blood thinners are not to be taken lightly) I would be asking some major questions! And they always warn you about cutting yourself, but the cardiologist told my DH the biggest thing to be careful of, is not banging your head...it can cause sudden serious brain bleeds...so BE CAREFUL!!! And avoid the heat he was told. I think you really need to have a talk with your Dr. before doing this! HE should have your answers, much better than us here...we WANT to help, but some things are beyond us! GOOD LUCK!! Kat -
Donna I so know how you feel. We rented our old home, when we moved, and we had so many problems, it was horrible. A big part of it we decided was the emotional attachment to the home. So in the end we sold the home, and bought a smaller house, and 2 mobile homes that we now rent out. We still get the occasional bad eggs, but the emotion is gone out of it. I don't know if that will make sense to anyone else. It is easier to rent someone a house you own rather than your home. Good luck, I hope he documented everything with pictures, etc. Poor guy, he has had a rough week hasn't he? Better buy you some massage oil to take to San Antonio!!! Relax one another!! So sorry about the house! Kat

I'm not sure how much of a fill you received, but most Dr.'s tend to go slowly, so as not to cause problems. Just as your band was tight when it was originally put in place, and loosened as you lost weight, I understand that continues to happen. That as you lose, it loosens more, so requires more saline. I have also heard that in some people it does dissipate. One LBT member, I cannot recall who, said her Dr. told her fevers will cause dissipation of the fluid, I had never heard that before! And there is also the issue with restriction being related to the time of the month. So don't be surprised if it suddenly kicks in again!! I just recently had my first fill, so I am not very experienced at this either!! Are you scheduled for another fill? I am interested in reading what the others have to say!!! Good Luck!! Kat

I too come from a family with strong medical backgrounds. When my insurance turned me down a 2nd time, I opened up to a couple of family members that I felt would be brutally honest, yet equally fair minded with me. I had an Aunt who is an Oncologist tell me NO WAY to going to Mexico. Then I had an Uncle tell me, that the diabetes I was dealing with was as dangerous as any surgery I could think of having. He took the name of the hospital, and the Dr. and he did some looking into things, and come back to me with the news that he would support it. he even offered to go with me. He looked around and found the same cost prohibitions that I had. There are some in the US that are becoming comparable price wise, but they are newer, less experienced. And a long distance from where I am at. He also checked out the Dr. I was considering for follow up, and suggested someone else...ironically a girl on here used the one I had thought about and has had to have her port removed among other things due to infection, she too had been banded over a year ago by another MX Dr., it was unrelated to the surgery, the fill became infected. After my Uncle helped my research, I presented it to my own Dr. who then had a look at everything, and called me back with his approval. My PCP's wife will be having surgery by the same Dr. next month. I felt blessed to have someone who cared about me enough that also had the ways and means of checking these things for me! My surgery and recovery have been smooth, my aftercare Dr. also has done my first fill, and all has gone well. I believe you can find good stories and bad, from ALL locations. It is you having the surgery, so you have to make that choice, based on serious research, and your own comfort with it being in or out of the USA. As a side note, I live in a rural area in New Mexico, just about 15 miles from the Colorado border. When we go to the hospital here in NM, we find an abundance of CO patients, they all say they hate the local CO hospital. But when we go to the CO hospital, we see all kinds of people we know from the NM side, because they hate the local NM hospital!!! Go figure!!! Regardless of where you decide to go, take care of yourself and look deeply into the choices you make. Imagine that you were sending your Mother, or your child....you are just as important to them as they are to you. Good Luck to all! Kat

Amy, I am so sorry you are having to go through this. There are no words, I can come up with to make it instantly better, or believe me I would. I have been divorced...it was devastating, it hurt for the actual loss of the marriage, but also the loss of the dream of what I had thought marriage would be. My divorce was a first for our family... My Grandma used to tell me that in order to make anything change you had to change something. She told me this as I complained of issues around my own divorce. But slowly I began to understand. So I started changing small things. Things as simple at the time, as changing where I ate fast food. We always did BK together, so I wouldn't go there, I went elsewhere. We always bought groceries at a certain place, or had the car serviced at a certain place, I changed that. Our Christmas tree had always had the same color coordinated decorations...I did it MY way...in my places. It was a conscious decision, to CHANGE things, no matter how small. I slept on PINK sheets, he hated pink! I searched for ways to make my life happy. I took some non credit community courses at the college, I made an effort to visit friends and family. Not go to dinner, or anything other than to just spend time visiting with them. I kept busy. It was hard at first finding things to do, but they are out there. One of the first things I got involved in was with a group who were working to save and restore an older park in our town. I met a lot of people, and count many of them as friends to this day. A good friend who had been divorced herself told me "the best revenge you can get is to have a good, happy life, without him." She was so right. I no longer feel a need for revenge, or to "show" him, but can't help but be pleased with myself when I compare the lives we now have. He went for many years with the new, young, thin wife, bigger house, kids....but now, he is divorced yet again, living with a fellow alcoholic, and has nothing to call his own....he lives in her small trailer, drives her car, is just somewhat pathetic. I know all of this because the fellow alcholic he lives with was one of my best friends for years until her drinking was just too much for me. I look back and feel lucky that I was given a chance to have a better life, and I took that chance. I hope you do too. Give yourself time to grieve, but keep in mind, that someone who would do this to you, is not someone you really want to spend the rest of your life with. You deserve better, and you will find it. Work your band, and work your life to suit YOU....you will survive and be a better person than you could have ever been with him dragging you down. Good Luck, and don't forget when you need to cry, whine, moan or just plain bi#$h about life, we are here, and will offer any support we can! Kat

I too have had both knee surgeries, and lap band surgery. Several years ago I had open surgery on my left knee to repair an ACL tear, they could not get done arthroscopically. A kid down the road ran into me on his bicycle!! Following that, I had a lateral release of the patella, on the other knee, my kneecap (patella) was being pulled off of the correct position, and I had no movement in it. Then last November they repaired several meniscal tears in the right knee again. The last 2 were done with arthroscopic surgery. I agree that my lap band was even easier than the last 2 knee surgeries. And not even comparable to the open surgery! I am 45 with bad knees, a bad back, an occasional bad attitude....and other assorted health issues, and survived the banding without issue, so while we may not bounce back like we would have 20 years ago, we CAN do it!! Give yourself a little time, and take care not to push too hard too fast with either surgery!!! It is not a race! Doing too much too fast can cause many more problems than it helps! Enjoy being taken care of by your kids!! Aren't you glad you raised them to be so caring! Good Luck as you heal and prepare for the next surgery, I will be thinking of you! Kat

Happy Saturday everyone...it is finally raining here!! Wish in some ways it wasn't, but, in others, yeehaw!!! A good reason to sit at home and do nothing! We are in a massive draught, so this is welcome! We were to the point of being put on watering restrictions, so my yard is happy! Betty--I agree with Sherry, if you don't get your foot fixed, you are gonna mess up the rest of your body! Favoring it is just putting pressure elsewhere. When I had my last knee surgery finally done last November, my whole body was hurting, some parts I think worse than the knee! Hope the weekend resting it helps! Darcy--I am SOOO proud of you! A canoe trip? I would never, in a million years have the courage to do that! And someone lazily floating by on an innertube laughing at me??? I'd have thrown a fish at them or something! I so agree with you about friends on here! None of you know how much I appreciate the fact that I can come here, to you, and laugh or cry or whine, and know it is ok.... Cindy-- is right you are all the greatest group! And Cindy make my fried pie out of something gross...worms maybe! If it is ANYthing palatable I WILL eat it!!! You are such a good Mom. I miss my kids being young sometimes. We had sleepovers, and did so many fun things. Soon the grandkids will be ready for that!! Eileen--I ended up here by a clicking mistake the first time, then Trish told me about you all!! I was looking to see if anything had ever been typed in the NM room, and WOW there was people actually there!!! Oops, it was the NJ room!!! Thank heaven for my clumsy fingers!!! I always invert letters when I type, so I say I have dyslexia of the fingers! As for our son moving back...I think the #1 reason was shock over his Dad's health. He had been thinking about it, but that finalized his decision. Both he and his wife are from this area...and he is self employeed, so that helped. He is an independent welder, does most of his work on oilfield equipment, and pipeline welding, so he already has work lined up for awhile, and just got here! They were living about 60 miles north of us prior to the move. They heard from the sellers of the house they bought last night, they are back from Seattle (where they had to go to their sons funeral) and said they should be out in a few days, he told them it was not a hurry, and is in fact going to go help them load the appliances when they are ready. Yes, I am proud of him, he has become a good man! Dianne--I would love a get together, however NM is a loooong way from y'all! I would do everything in my power to get there tho!!! Beannie--I am hoping my DIL finishes off the brownies today...or I might help her! If it were just DH & I, I would toss them, he would not care, but the kids are slowly eating them, so guess I will just have to be strong...:cry Sherry--my POS computer was a Compaq. Now my DD has one she loves, mine was apparently a lemon.....it was always one thing or another! DH laughs that when he heard me start saying bad words and slamming things in the office, he knew to call the former SIL (who was our resident geek at the time!!!)! Have since bought both desk top and laptop HP's and are happy again!! Donna--Enjoy the riverwalk!! I lived in San Antonio for awhile, it was not a good time in my life, but I loved the riverwalk!!! But mostly enjoy seeing son in a good place in his life! Have fun with your "me time"....someday... even just me & hubby time would be nice!! Patty--we are all here...we love ya, and know this is tough! Ok enough already!!! Off to do some shopping!! Kat

Back pain or stress after weight loss?
Kat817 replied to princess_n_thep's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Thanks to both of you , Jenna & Terry, for doing not 1 but 2 very important jobs!!! I have had a L4-L5, S1 station disc herniation for several years now. Losing some weight has definitely helped. But getting some of the just plain ol' flab out from under the skin on my stomach, I can see how poor the muscles really are. I am going to try to begin, carefully gaining some muscle control. I would appreciate any advice on how not to do this in a way that would make it worse! I will be watching your thread to see what you learn! I will say if the Dr. gives you any stretching exercises...DO THEM!! It is all that keeps me upright I think. If I miss as much as one day, I am miserable! But they aren't much for rebuilding or even exercising the muscles. Great question, I too wish a poll had worked!! Kat -
Go to User CP in the upper left of the LBT banner, and click on edit signature, it will allow you to add your stats etc. To get the weight loss ticker, you can go to several different sites, I used www.tickerfactory.com it will walk you through creating it, choosing what you want it to look like, what you want it to keep track of. For instance, you can have it show weight loss, or how much to go to get to your goal, or how long til your surgery date...Once you configure your ticker, you will be given 3 options for transferring it to LBT. I cannot remember what it is called, but at this site it is the first option. Highlight it, right click, then click copy. Come back to LBT, go back to User CP, open edit signature again, go down to where you want your ticker to be, and click your mouse there, then right click, and hit paste. When you open User CP again, it should show in the preview signature window at the top, so you can check it. I am not very computer savvy, but if you have problems let me know and I can at least try to help!! Good Luck!! Kat

Hello.....I was banded on 6-19-06
Kat817 replied to rodeomom06's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
That sounds similar to what I was losing while on liquids. Right now your body is trying to heal. You may gain some back when advancing to mushies, and on to solids. Just try to make the food choices healthy ones, and when you begin the fill process, after you have healed it will all start back down again. Just don't go too low when it comes to calories. And make sure your protein stays up, you want to stay as healthy as possible! Good Luck and congrats on the weight you have lost! Kat -
Don't compare ourselves to other people losing weight
Kat817 replied to juliegeraci's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Nannette I can so understand the knee issues. I have had both of mine operated on. The right one 3 years ago I had a lateral release of the patella...my knee cap was pulling due to pressure on it, so they cut the muscle and let some of the tension out. Then last November I had my left knee cleaned up, they repaired several meniscal (sp?) tears. Both have healed great, and getting even the 30 pounds off has helped wonders! I also have a herniation of L-5 & L-6 at a S-1 station, so have days that the sciatic pain ( I call it my psychotic nerve, not my sciatic nerve!) is too bad to do much, but I think it too is improving. But yes walking is about all I am doing at this point. Some days I go further than others, and some days I walk more shopping!! I do like they said, park further away. I take my grandkids out in their strollers, and pull them in a wagon in the yard (not easy!!!). I bought extra yard plants this year, and make myself get out and water everyday. I make small "games" with myself. When I wash laundry, I will fold it here on the couch, and make 4-5 trips around putting it away rather than loading my arms and doing it all at once. I haven't got out a stair stepper...yet! But I do try to make myself get up and put away 3 things during each commercial. That way things get done, and I move some. I don't have depression issues, but at this time i have some pretty heavy stress. My husband is awaiting open heart surgery. We had it scheduled, but he developed a blood clot, so it is on hold until Aug. 2. The waiting, and the worry....can be overwhelming, and I used to always eat then! I have also had adult kids moving in and out! My daughter and granddaughter were with us for a few months, following her divorce, as she and DH revamped a home she bought. Now son, DIL, and grandson are here, waiting a delay in the closing of their new home. I love them, but chaos reigns!!! Anytime you need a kick in the pants to get up and get moving, let me know...and keep your ears open I may be hollering at you to do the same!! for me!! And btw, I am in the 4 corners area of New Mexico....only wish for CA, and pools, and hot tubs....!!! I am soooo jealous!!! No, I love where we live, one hour north and we are in massive mountains, one hour to the south and we are in the desert....we have a huge lake nearby....it is no ocean tho!!! Oh well, it is home! Kat -
I was self pay in Mexico, my SIL and I went together and had it done, we each paid about $7500.00, which included all surgical costs, would cover 1 year of fills, Dr. fees, pre-op testing of bloodwork, EKG,& Xrays, and 1/2 of the cost of our airfare. As for paperwork, we had to have medical records, and forms filled out for the Dr. that they sent to us online. There was a questionairre that I thought was likely ignored, that was done as a psych evaluation, but they questioned one of my SIL's answers and called to talk it over with her. Ends up she was being sarcastic, and with the language barrier, they didn't get it!!! Kat

Don't compare ourselves to other people losing weight
Kat817 replied to juliegeraci's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Noone has ever mentioned anything to me about emptying my band to fly, I have not had any problems like that at all. As for bread and rice....bread, is difficult for me. If it is small amounts, and a part of something, it is fine, but as in a sandwich, it is usually too much, and is hard to digest. Remember when you were a kid in the lunchroom and you would ball up the roll off of your lunch tray? Bread tends to do that in your stomach, it balls up, and blocks everything from passing. Rice has not been a problem, I do not eat much of it, because it is high in carbs, and not high in much nutrition! But I can eat it without issue. Back to the unfilling and going on liquids. When you get a fill, whether it be maintenance fill, or refilling after it being removed for some reason, yes you do go back on liquids, my Dr. has me on clear liquids for 24 hours following a fill, full liquids, for another 12, then mushies, then regualr diet again. Sometimes the fill irritates the stomach and you swell, so the liquids keep the tummy calm as it adapts, and avoids the pattern of PB...swell...PB....swell. The fill itself is not "irritating" but the change of the pressure they told me sometimes irritates it. I am pretty new to all of this myself, but my aftercare Dr. is great at giving me lots of information!! This is a great site for getting answers! Some amazingly smart people around here!!! Good Luck in your WL journey! Kat -
Sounds like listening to all the stories gave you more than hope, looks like it gave you inspriation to lose 9 pounds!!! There are several people on LBT who are working the band plan, without a band. And from what I see, most are succesful!! If it is support you need to do it, we are all here! Nothing much we can do to sway a Dr.'s principles....but we can do our best to help you make wise eating choices, and listen when you need to vent your frustrations, rather than doing like I always did and eat my frustration away! I am sorry for the disappointment, I too would have been crushed. But, it sounds to me like you may be able to do this on your own with some moral support! You have made a wonderful start!! I would be proud! Good Luck to you, and if you need that support, stick around...feel free to PM me if you need to talk, stress, dissapointment, and 3 kids, are a lot to handle. Kat

Don't compare ourselves to other people losing weight
Kat817 replied to juliegeraci's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My SIL and I were banded at the same time, so I have been really cautious about the comparing!! I made the decision, that while this may take me longer than it does some of the others, it has to be done in a way I am happy living my life in. I would be horribly unhappy living a life that denied me cake at my grandchilds birthday party, or did not allow me to enjoy dinner out with friends on occasion. Doing these things might slow my weight loss, but I need them. I do know when I have that much smaller piece of cake, it is still a vast improvement of how I would have chowed down prior to banding. I walk most days, plus I do things simply because of the exercise value of them now. For instance, helping my DH unload firewood the other day...he usually does it, but for a change, I saw it as an opportunity to do something we needed done and get some calories burned in the process. I do not have any desire to spend 3 hours a day for the remainder of my life exercising, so I am not doing that now. I am not breaking any weight loss records, but it is steady, my habits are changing, but they are habits I hope to have from this point on in my life. It might just be that those who are exercising for 3 hours a day will be the future marathoners, or triathletes, and wouldn't that be amazing!!! From fat to fit enough to do that!!?? But personally I don't care to do that! So I am doing my best to develop habits, both eating wise, and physically that I can live with in harmony! And so far so good!! Best of Luck to you in your weightloss too!! Kat -
You guys have me laughing!!! Back many (make that many, many) years ago, my Mom got tired of my brother and I using towels and leaving them wadded up on the floor. She did not have a problem with us using a fresh towel for our shower, however she wanted me to re-use one for a couple of times for my hair. As kids tend to do we ignored her. Come in one night, ready to shower, and found the linen closet locked with a cable like bicycle lock! If we wanted a towel, the only ones available to us were the damp, yucky ones. The biggest surprise of all was Mom stuck to her guns....she would NOT give in, and she always caved!! We thought surely the next day she would give in, but nope...she held strong! Later that night Dad had to cut the lock off, she found it in the garage, locked it on, and no one knew the combination! No wonder she was feeling so unbendable!!! Years later, my own made me want to lock the cabinets!!! To this day, I have a fresh bath towel daily, but use a towel for my hair 2-3 times between washings. Maybe I should call and tell her! Think I will call and razz her about the lock just for a good laugh with her!! Kat

The only thing I think you need to check with your Dr. about is the lifting limiton weight. I provide care for my granddaughter, she was about 16 1/2 months old when I had my band surgery, and my Dr. did not want me lifting anything over 5-10 pounds max for 2 weeks. I tried very hard to adhere to that, and would hold her hand and let her climb into my lap etc. But I had my DH home to help me the first few days, when I think the worst problem with lifting would be. The surgery itself was a breeze for me. I had it done in MX, and flew home 5 hours, and drove another 5 hours on the 3rd day, and was out and shopping for some remodeling things the next day.I had IV pid meds following surgery that day, then nothing, until a dose of liquid Tylenol on the plane ride home. I really would check on the lifting, they stitch your port in place, and also attach the lower stomach up with stitches, which are all internal, so even if your Dr. glues or stapeles the outside incisions, you still have stitches inside needing to heal. It would be a shame to spend this much time and money getting the band done, only to rip something inadvertantly....better to check and be safe! Best of Luck to you , you will do fine!!! Kat

starting new in Southern California
Kat817 replied to GotGlock21's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Welcome Carl, you have come across a wonderful site, there is so much information, and support to be gained here, I am ever thankful I found it, I think you will be too! I agree with Zoe, anytime I have any doubts, I hit the before & after pics....how inspiring!!! I am about 10 weeks post op, and have had no problems. I have had the golfball pressure in my chest a couple of times from eating too fast, I keep hoping to learn to slow down more!! It is enough to convince me it is in there working on keeping me in line!! It is an awesome thing to feel in control of my eating finally, I truly never thought I ever would again. I wish I had done this years ago! I had my surgery in Mexico, my insurance denied me twice, and in order to qualify with them I would have been required to be on a medically supervised diet with bi monthly meetings with a nutritionist, for 12 consecutive months. She told me they were so strict with this clause that if I were to miss an appointment, my 12 months would be required to be started over. I figured there would always be a catch, so I went to Mexico as a self pay. I have not had a single problem, have a Dr. here for aftercare and fills. However or where ever you have your surgery, I wish you luck, it is am amazing journey!! Welcome to LBT! Kat -
Dianne--will lift you both in my prayers tonight...situations like you and DH are in right now seems to affect every aspect of life. The stress is so hard. My DH had a job offer the other day, one he has wanted for several years. One he would have jumped at so fast our heads would have been spinning...but with us awaiting his surgery, there is no way we can change insurance companies right now...so we will go on waiting and hoping it is offered again someday! I hope you have good news concerning a new job locally for DH very soon. Meanwhile, the best thing you can do is vent a little, and doing it here, will release some of your tension, so you can help with his!!! I do it all the time!!! We have big shoulders, especially when they are all huddled together in one big group hug for you!!! Kat

I would suggest getting folder, and as you come across articles you feel helped you understand the procedure, or brought questions to mind, or just interested you in some way, print them and include them in your folder. I would imagine at your consultation, you will receive booklets, and information, you can then add it. When you get your medical records together, you can keep them with your info folder, and can take both with you to all appointments, with the Dr., the nutritionist, the psych. ALL of it. If you want to share certain aspects of the information you have found with those you are telling about the banding, having the numbers, or a picture of the band, or a story by someone already banded, may help them understand it better, and they will also feel that if you have all this research, that you are making an informed decision. In my folder, I can see at a glance how my blood work numbers have improved! I added a page that has my measurements...I can see at a glance I have now lost 2 feet!!! I also have all of my post op instructions, the Inamed band numbers, all info concerning my surgery, phone numbers for anyone and everyone I have spoke with regarding it. If you are trying to get insurance coverage, keeping detailed notes will be VERY important. I personally told most everyone, and my DH shared with everyone as well. I did however withold the fact that I was having it done in Mexico until after it was done and no problems arose. I knew coming from a family with many medically backgrounded members, this would be a sticking point! I feel like I now have some people watching me very closely, ironically these are the other ones that likely need it themselves! But only a couple have actually said anything much to me about it. Most are curious, and supportive. I felt like I could use the extra motivation of knowing that "they" knew. If that makes any sense!!! As for negative feedback, I have not really had any, one friend insisted I did NOT need the surgery. I however knew my co-morbidities, were several, and getting more serious as my weight increased steadily. So I just don't talk to her much about it. YOU know you better than they EVER will....so you will know if it is the right decision for you! Best of luck to you as you start this awesome WL journey!!! Kat

Omg!!! I Never Thought I Would Make It! Update On Me!
Kat817 replied to coyotegirl's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
You know I'll bet you have people all over town wondering what that big smile was about!! Congratulations!!!! What an inspiration you are!! While feet really do nothing "for" me...if you don't like yours, do like the others have said, treat yourself to a pedicure...I have not made it to Onderland, nor lost anywhere near 100 lbs...yet...but still treat myself to a pedi every month or so!! We know you are worth it!! Continuing good luck on your awesome WL journey!!!:clap2: Kat -
Awww Patty, I'm sorry it is being such a hassle, but you are right, it will happen when it is supposed to happen. You are right about the temperature, and maybe you need to be up and able bodied for your kids this summer, and will have some quiet recovery time while they are in school this fall. Our prayers for this to work out will be continued! BIG BIG HUG!! Cindy--One of those BIG BIG HUGS:girl_hug: to you too, tomorrow will be rough, but I am glad you have family to gather with Dad. Will be thinking of you. Diane-hope DH's headache is better, that sounds horrible, scary even! Beannie--if you won't kick me will you at least get these damn brownies outta here??? Betty--so glad DB is improving. Hope you get equally good reports back on the Aunts. So was that trolly scary? I have seen them, and wondered if I would be brave enough to ride one!!! I have been on big ones...trams...but not little ones! Sounds like a fun time you had! Take it easy on the foot for a few days now! Mary--sorry the damned ex took the kids when you had something fun planned, doesn't it just figure? So did you ever find the body of the suicidal fish? Donna--big hug for DH, sorry about his Aunt, glad you had a way to get him back to see the family. I agree about that being the way to go. Long life, go to sleep...no pain. Eileen--ewww spending money on tires is no fun!!! We put them on our truck before going to TX last time, and the final cost took my breath away!! And now you can't even hope to win the lottery to help buy them!!! Well everything here is pretty good. We got DD moved out and into her house. She is loving it. We celebrated being alone again, for a whole 36 hours or so. Then our son, his wife and 4 month old son moved in, for the next 2 weeks! They sold their house in Colorado, and are buying one here, but the couple they are buying it from, their son was killed in a car accident, and they ask to move the closing date back so they could travel back. Well how horrible, of course they said ok. Luckily my DIL has a family connection to the Mayflower rental truck they have their stuff in, so it is parked out at the farm, and they are living here. It is fun having the grandson!! And his parents are ok too!! It could all be for the best, it is keeping DH's mind occupied some so he isn't dwelling on his health. He is tiring much quicker these days, has begun shortening his work days. And is going to take next week off in vacation. Normally he works 14 days straight and has 7 off (paid for 40 hrs). But the 14 day run is just too much for him right now. So if he takes a vacation week, it will follow with his off week, and then it will be almost time to finally get him fixed! We are ready for the recuperation rather than the anticipation...it is nerve wracking! Well the above mentioned grandson, is awake, and she is trying to rock him to sleep, so guess I will shut down and let her have some quiet. Everyone have a great day tomorrow! Kat Well
