TracyK---you can use the TUCKS pads (or the cheaper Walmart equivalent) to help clean Macy, since she is having the diarrhea, and they help a lot, keeping her little bottom from being too sore. We used them with Ali---my older granddaughter, when she ended up with Kawasaki Disease--thinking the same thing maybe Jennifer mentioned. I gave up understanding what the Dr. was saying at the hospital, and ask him to spell it out for me! Just like the motorcycle he tells me!!! Ends up it was named after an Asian Dr.!!! Anyway, she was so red, and chapped, she was bleeding! He gave us some cream, and had us use the TUCKS----they helped tons!!! Hope you don't get it either! Kat

Me too!!! YEA!!!! How's the girlie??? Kat -
Oh I hope I didn't jinx ya Pat!!! The 3rd day ALWAYS kicks my butt! I had a surgeon tell me that is what they expect. That anything they do inside you, the local anesthesia often used inside to control bleeding, will have wore off, and your body is fully awake. Therefore you feel all the pain, and the drugginess is wearing off....it will be your worst day he said, and he has been right on the money! I hope you have nothing but good days from here on! The worst is behind you! Ummmm....happy days are here again.....I cannot think of anymore cliches!!! Yeah Sherry, it was chaotic because Rick was off, and we had a granddaughters birthday party, and cows to brand, and a rental with frozen Water pipes, and the temperature had not been above freezing in days....and was dropping well below zero each night. So we were having to feed, they can't graze when the snow is frozen hard on top of the ground. And we have to make sure their water is not froze---which thankfully we have a couple of heated troughs, but we have to make sure they are functioning. Add to it, that we had made arrangements to meet up with friends to go out and eat, or catch a movie (which we did both!), and my Dad is still recovering from his surgery, so we are hauling wood for him, and my Mom has been sick! Hell girl-----the list goes on, and on, and on! It just didn't make for a real relaxing weekend!!! How about yours??? LOL Hoping like crazy I stay well!!! I am going to ask for the PS referral again this week at the Dr. Getting to a point it might not be a full TT---but some of this pannus has to go. I work out one day, and it irritates the skin in the fold, to where then I baby it for a day or 2----it is a crappy cycle! Time to get it fixed so I can work out regularly and get to goal! I am not in the market for a bikini bod----just one that resembles normal! Well off to watch the deer in the yard with Kinsey! TTYL~~ Kat

Found the best sweet tooth cure
Kat817 replied to LynneB's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wow, I wasn't allowed any of those things on mushies! My sheet from the Dr. listed cooked veggies, and things of that texture! I did find as soon as I could move on to regular food, that the chips Ahoy 100 calorie packs, the Cookies are more like graham crackers, and mushed up well, and eased my sweet tooth!!! Good Luck! Kat -
As for the batwings....If you need a size 14....look for a 14W. One of the biggest differences will be sleeve length. Anything in Womens sizes will have about 2 inches more in sleeve length. At least that is what they explained to my Mom, who has horrible issues with massive upper arms....while being of normal size most everywhere else, her legs and upper arms are enormous in comparison. When she wears clothing that covers it, you would never guess she weighs what she does. We do buy her all Womens clothes, rather than misses though for that reason. I am scared spitless, I am going to have (or already have) her arms. Escaped the leg issues (TY Dad for my chicken legs), but the arms....ooooooh they are bad! Kat

Jen my gall bladder attack did not hurt in the lower left. It was higher, and went all the way through, made my back ache! Maybe an ovarian cyst? Is it in that area? Sometimes they hurt bad as they grow, and they often times burst without issue, other than they really hurt when they do burst, but then it gets better. Are you drinking plenty? How is your son? Was his sore throat just a passing thing?? TracyK---how's the little Macy girl? Hope she is mending quickly! Judy---now is the time to try out all the new spikey hairdos you see!!! Spike it up, let it freeze, and check out whether you like it or not! You might be surprised by one!!! I said in the other thread we had a yard full of deer, and quail, as well as assorted other birds. Stupid neighbor getting his exercise---scared it all off! So not only did he scare it all off, he makes me feel guilty for not getting my own exercise in! LOL Kat

Terry--I may see about that since I could maybe save some of the $$$ it is going to cost to fly out of my home town airport. Will look at the prices tomorrow, and let you know!!! That is such a sweet offer! The first time I was in DFW and had to change planes, it did change airlines and I had to change terminals. Some worker told me to get on the train thing, hell I had no idea how to get off or where I was going! I was young, and traveling with a baby, and all the crap you carry with a baby. She was crying, I wanted to sit down and cry. Finally I ask this older man, he was sitting there looking so relaxed, like it was an everyday thing for him. He was so nice, he took me right to the waiting area for my connecting flight! I don't know what I would have done without him!!! Good thing I am not ashamed to ask for help like that!!! I would have still been wandering around the airport! Well I am off to watch deer with Kinsey, the back yard is full! There is even about a dozen little bobwhite quail out there.....think they are after the cracked corn I threw out to the birds!!! We have a wildlife zoo out there!!! Kat -
Last night while DH was watching the play off game, I went to our bedroom to watch something I wanted to on the TV in there. It got a little chilly, so I grabbed a small throw I use to cover the grandbabies when they sleep on my bed, and covered up. When the game ended he come in to the room, he walked in the door, and stopped, and smiled, and told me I looked little bitty in that bed (King size----of course!) As I lay there, I realized, I did in fact take up very little space on that bed as compared to before, and I fit under that little blanket with some to tuck in! So in the night I thought about it, and suddenly realized, I now simply roll over, in one fluid motion. Used to be a series of grunts, and rolls, and shifts, and more settling----it took a lot to turn me over!!! Now it is a non issue! Not the type of NSV's usually associated with bed------but they made me happy!!! Kat

I know I really miss some of those you mentioned (TOM, Carlene) just disappearing!! And Leatha! They could be counted on for straight forward, honest, but kind hearted responses. I know some mentioned WERE having familial problems--------hope all is well with them! For awhile when I first noticed them missing, I would check the other site, that spun when this one was used for a personal battle of wills....and I saw one of them a couple of times, then nothing....Like all of you, I miss them! It was not always a battle of the wills then. Kat

The motel we always stay at when we go for my Dads and my DH's medical check ups, has a similar breakfast...but they always have some yogurt, and some fruit---so I usually opt for that. Most of the time I will take the yogurt to eat for breakfast, and carry off a banana or an apple for snacking later!!! But back in the day---I would have had a bagel with a couple of donuts for dessert!!!! Kat

I won't be going to work a few hours later, but riding 6 hours on a motorcycle, and camping at the Grand Canyon that night, going on to Vegas the next day, spending a couple of days, then back towards home to the rally in Utah, then another day or so--anyway sometime Sunday and Monday heading home---which will be about 8 hours! Not real relaxing, but a blast anyway!!! OK, I am off to bed........see y'all tomorrow! Kat -

For an additional $200.00 I can leave locally. When I factor in gas, and parking....I am looking at probably a hundred bucks--think it is worth the stress free factor to pay it! Then my layover is in Denver as opposed to DFW. Denver is familiar at any rate, and if it is a long layover, I can have family meet me for brunch!! Or dinner!! It is on United.....So will be thinking and talking to Rick. Night All! Kat -

The flights I am looking at will hit similar times to Tracy's---I kind of used them as a guideline for scheduling. I think I will see what Tuesday holds, see if it does as was said, and makes any difference, if not, I will not have lost anything! My only issue is unless I leave fairly early on Monday, I am not going to get home until very late. The flight leaving SA at 3-ish---with layover, and time change etc, puts me landing in Albq, 8-9 PM---then I have a 3.5 hour drive home, and Rick is not happy about me driving the reservation alone after dark. Not to mention we are leaving out of here before 6 AM on Tuesday morning!! So I too may have to look into an earlier flight by a couple of hours anyway on Monday. I'll see. Stubborn husband! He keeps saying to just book it and he will drive me, then come back after me. That is crazy!!! I can park at the airport, and he should not have to drive for 14 hours for this!!! He will be doing all the "driving" to the rally!!! Oh well, we will figure it out! Games did not go to Ricks liking, but he was just cheering for the sake of cheering, since none of the teams he usually cheers for made it this far!!! Yep, plan on having a waterproof camera or 2 of my own with me for the adventure!!! We have some amazing pictures we took snorkeling in Hawaii, and funny face pictures we took of each other under water in Mexico. I look at those pictures, and I have a hard time remembering the great time we were having, or seeing the beauty of the fish and the coral reef, or the silliness in my own goofy cross eyed fun picture-----all I see is FAT! When I look at the pics of the others, I see them, and the places around them, I don't focus on their faults---only my own. Hope someday that changes! I figured most of the airlines have us going in to DFW---but thought I would wait to find out anyway!! What airline are you flying Pamela? I think my lowest fare is American Airlines. Going to continue to look around some, see what options I have! Well I am going to get ready to go to bed....talk to y'all tomorrow! Hugs~~ Kat -

I just looked into flights, and to get in around the same time as Tracy, I too would be changing in DFW---so we might even go in on the same flight. Both directions I can get layovers in Dallas ranging from just over an hour to over 3 hours.....not sure what my plan is right now!!! hmmmmmm......I am getting my best prices on American. Kat -

DFW airport is HUGE!!!! Even assuming you would land on time, I would personally want more time....I hope some who have more experience with that particular airport chime in! Hugs~~ Kat -
Tracy, ideally, you can get your Dr. to prescribe you somr phenergren, to help you avoid the puking, or suppositories---but it really knocks you out, so in your case where you are not only responsible for a young child, but an equally sick young child, I don't know what you would do. If the nausea continued, I would worry, but a few episodes, are surely not all that uncommon, I mean we are still people, and we still get sick. I managed with the phenergren to avoid all but one bout with nausea when Kinsey shared her virus that put her in the hospital. BUT---------I slept for 15 hours straight through! I sure hope you aren't getting sick! Did you get your flu shot? With Rick's heart issues we HAVE to have them. Hope you get a shower and a rest soon Hon!!! I wondered about Pamela too!!! Her signature says Pamela so that is what I always called her.... Half of those I know call me Kat....of the other half, it is either Sis, or Kathy!!! I answer to all of them!! Well first game went about as expected. This is the cold game he is watching now. Windchill is something like -26 I think I heard!!! It was actually -1 last I noticed them talking! DD and her DH come, he ate!!!!!!!!! Miracles DO happen! He in fact ate 2 entire cheese pizzas by himself! We made 2 other frozen pizzas--a Supreme and a Pepperoni and Sausage one, and with the 3 of us eating on the other ones, there is 4 slices left--basically a whole pizza!!!! So...he ate a lot of pizza!!! I ate a bite of Ricks, and ate salad.....oh yeah, and a hot wing, and some chips and salsa!! Oh well, I did drink good!!! My inlaws showed up with my DIL and grandson. My MIL was on a mission. I had told her about a new recipe I was going to make, that I thought Rick would like, but was afraid to try today with the kids coming and SIL's eating issues. Well she had a potluck at church today, and you guessed it, she made it and all but broke her damned neck getting over here to give him some....so then it can be referred to as her recipe. She is growing older, and much more immature as she goes!!! I had to just laugh! Her version was not too great!!! IMHO!!!!! DIL and grandson stayed with us and spent the afternoon, then when DD and SIL left, they dropped them at home...so it is quiet here again. Guess I will go clean up all the leftovers!! Will check with y'all later, gonna go see what's up on the other thread! Hugs~~ Kat

You have all heard the story!!! It sounds very dramatic--it was at the time, but before I say more---keep in mind, this is me winning the final round!!! I left SA with an armed guard for protection. My ex husband, was still at large, and wanted for my attempted murder, he had stabbed me 8 times! I flew from SA to Albq, with a police officer, at my side!! While in the air, Cody (the cop) read me the file on my ex----90% of it I had no idea of! He was not who I thought he was literally--his name ironically was! But from his birthdate---to his ex con status, was all news to me---when all of this went down. Cody and his wife, Chandi, and I still stay in contact. And there were some AMAZINGLY wonderful officers on duty that day. I was using my parents charge card to charge my ticket home---and unknown to us, they would not use it over the phone like that to purchase a kennel for me to bring my dog home. Jimmy (ex) had hurt her so many times, as she stepped between us trying to protect me! I was heart broken! One of the officers said he would take the dog----but in the end, they each pulled out their wallets, and together purchased the kennel! And my beloved Chelsea dog, come home with me....to live out the remainder of her 16 years! As soon as I got home, I sent the money back to Cody to give to the guys...they refused it! I never once got the attitude, I had received here---I told them my story, and they "got" it! I have nothing but good memories of my armed escort out of SA. My family and friends that lived through it with me though, are shocked beyond belief I am going back! It has been many years---he is still locked up----and this is my way of thumbing my nose at him in yet one more way.........I WIN!!!!!!!! End of story! Not a happy one in some ways but an AWESOME one in others!!! We WILL have a margarita in celebration of my newest win!! Cody is now a cop--a detective to be exact in Sacramento, which is where he grew up,and they have 5 kids!!! I will buy my ticket this week!!! I am going to see the Dr this week to find out about my blood---and I think I am going to ask for a referral again to the PS! Wish me luck!!! I am not at goal, but this belly is making it difficult, the skin irritates, so I work out one day, and hurt the next....so it is hampering my life. Will keep you posted. Going to go get ready for the kids to come over for the game---it is going to be so cold there!!! Hugs~~ Kat -
Hi girls~~ Been cleaning house, actually Rick did the LR, and I did the kitchen! We met in the bedroom, made the bed...each grabbed a bathroom--and got it done QUICK!!! Youngest DD, Abbey and her DH (the OCD germaphobic one) are coming over to watch the game, and have a late lunch. Her DH does not eat anything I make 99%....nope a full 100% of the time! So she said to buy him a frozen cheese pizza. We just got back from the store, with lots of frozen pizza. I will fix his cheese, but I also got 2 other kinds for the rest of us, and got things to put some hot wings on....and that is going to be lunch, combined with a big salad. Abbey, used to be a vegetarian---I finally quit trying to cook for them! But she has gradually been adding meat back in...not sure what prompted it, but I just let it be!!! Salad looks soooooo good, I almost had some, but then would be unable to eat when they get here!! Our son left to go back to ND for 2 weeks. He missed the party yesterday, which was too bad, my grandson, loved the water!!!! It is such a neat pool area!!! HUGE! A fair sized lazy river, where the current carries you around the outside of the other pool areas, and weaved in and around. It moves pretty quick actually! Then there are 2 big tube slides, all twisty, and a kids play area, full of Water about 12"-18" deep is all, and all kinds of things to turn to make water shoot out, bikes you pedal that pump water, and the shooting fountains, that pop up randomly, as well as steady fountains to play in. A hot tub area, with 3 tubs of varying temps, and one where no children are allowed---usually full of old men reading newspapers!!! An olympic size competition pool, laned off, with 4 diving boards, and a lap pool separate from the big one. In the same center is a full size gym---from exercise equipment, to track(in a loop on the top floor looking down on the place---way cool), to raquet ball courts, and tennis courts. A climbing wall, and game room with electronic games, and foosball, and air hockey tables. It is a really nice place Durango has built! Sits between the high school, and the senior citizens center--so it is frequented by all ages. We had a good time, wish I had had a suit! Instead Becky and I walked and talked! Tracy, glad to hear Macy is showing signs of improvement! Jen, hope your little one is not coming down with anything!! Well I am going to go see what else is in my email, and do some things before the kids show up---don't know if the other kids will show or not, they come and go like normal, with Abbey and Rhett, it requires planning and an invite, he is VERY formal....ay yi yi.....sometimes I wonder what my DD was thinking!!! I did not say that!! Hugs~~ Kat

The last time I was in SA--I was escorted out!!! By an ARMED police guard!!!! Yep! My DD gets it! She belonged to a pregnancy board, and was in with a group who all had their babies in a couple of months time. She has flown to NY to meet up with a couple of the girls, and one come here last summer. So she understands, as far as the idea of it goes, she is shocked I am going back to SA though!!! OK--Off to bed!! I did snack too much BTW!!! Kat -
We just finished playing....wanted to see if Tracy checked in with Macy's condition. Will check in tomorrow. Night all! Kat
-
Yep we always alternated too-------and in the hospital they ALWAYS gave Kinsey popsicles anytime she would eat them! Poor little thing---prayers are being sent! If she feels up to it, you can give her a bath....but don't make it cool, make it warm enough, not to shock her, it is the evaporation after the bath that reduces the temp. I also used to give my kids a wet washcloth to play with. And let the girls play with their Barbies in a basin of water, the water would cool, and help with the fever----and they loved it. Tracy, I will be thinking of you! If you get too concerned, take her to the ER---take no chances! Big Loves to all of you! Kat

Home from swimming....was a good day. Went to a local micro brewery for dinner, but I can honestly say I did good. IF my meal had tasted decent, I wouldn't have, but it was horrible!! I had enchiladas--and picked the chicken out, and ate a few bites of it, but after a few bites, the flavor of the cream sauce it was in, and the nasty tomato tortillas, was overwhelming....so I just sent it back! I had lost my appetite by then!!! Now Becky and Gary will be here any minute, we are going to play some dominoes----and we have Snacks. Since I did not eat---I will likely ruin my day snacking!! I also did not drink much at all--so will attempt to drink lots of tea tonight, and avoid eating!!! So buy my tickets on Tuesday huh Pamela? I will wait until you do yours on Monday to find out if you happen to come through Albq. I don't have time to hit the other thread--so will say it all here!! Tracy, I hope little Macy is much better, I thought about her several times through the day! Poor little thing! They have a lazy river running through the aquatic area of the rec center today--and everyone is shocked that I am going to do that when I go to TX with y'all---so I cannot believe I am saying this but someone has to get a picture of me tubing!!! I have never requested someone take my picture, especially in a swimming suit!! No wonder everyone is freaking out over me going--well that and me going back to SA!!!! I am impressing people right and left!!! GO ME!!!! OK gotta get things finished before they show up. Will try to check back before going to bed tonight!!! Hugs~~ Kat -

Jen-you go girl!!! I think you are making a great start for 2008---you have a whole new attitude to go with your new look! I think in a matter of months, by the time we take off for SA---know one will know what to expect out of you!!! They will be seeing a new, strong, take no crap Jennifer. I also predict, it will be an awesome thing for your DD to watch, and while it may confuse and even irritate some, it will only impress her!!! Get 'Em Girl!! Denise---you definitely don't look anything like my Grandma's looked when I was a kid!!! Quite often even I get confused for Kinsey's Mom, I bet you end up getting that ALL the time!! I am a shopper, through and through.....but I have hit some of the upscale outlet malls---and often even they are too rich for my pocketbook!! I have found occasional deals, but---a $500.00 outfit half off, is still more than I care to spend--ya know? The artisan fair, now that interests me!!! OK it ALL interests me!!! Especially in that part of the country---I do a lot of eclectic collecting of wierd country antiques....and art fairs or craft fairs offer one of a kind off the wall things that go with or compliment the things I like! I got up planning to research a few more flights---but ended up here instead! Rick kept telling me to book the flight last night, but I wanted to look around at costs. I think he is worried I will back out if I don't bookit now! I am not backing out...his fears are unwarranted! Terry, I am not afraid of a little walk to wherever we need to be! I am used to walking....a lot! I have no issue with a plain jane room somewhere. I agree it would be fun to be right in the middle of the fun----but----I can walk to the middle of the fun with no issue! And if you have a choice of smoking rooms and non smoking rooms and TracyK would rather stay in a smoking room, I will understand....now I might cry myself to sleep feeling unwanted but I will understand!!! J/K---I have no issues with who I room with! I told Tracy I have no problem with her being a smoker...but seriously, if you prefer a room where you are comfortable smoking, with another smoker, don't think I will be offended! I loves ya all!!!! Well, I am going to go see what else in is my email!!! Will check in later!!! Hugs~~ Kat
