Trainer thinks my cals are too low...

Cherrybomb, I apologize for the misunderstanding, I was under the impression that you meant you were burning 3000 calories a day just exercising with your trainer. You should go by what your doctor tells you without a doubt. Technically as Personal Trainers we are only allowed to help you with exercise for the purpose of weight loss and muscle strength unless the trainer is a nutritionist as well, they really should not give advice on caloric intake. I am sure your trainer is just trying to be helpful = ) Paula

Trainer thinks my cals are too low...

First of all, Being a Personal Trainer and a Bandster I feel like I need to respond to this. I find it personally insulting in Jachut's comment. "They all talk the same talk, it takes nothing to become qualified as a trainer" This statement is extremely ignorant and inaccurate. Jachut- Do you know what it takes to become a Personal Trainer and have you ever worked with one? We are not all the same just as in any profession. I suggest you put a little more time and effort into research before making such ridiculous statements. As far as the calories being to low.... I would be very surprised if you are burning 3000 calories per day. That is extremely hard to do. Are you sure it is not per week? Paula

One week post op and sooo tired

Hi Molly, I was just banded on April 7th and was really tired up until the 1 week mark and then when I woke up on the 8th morning I couldn't believe how good I felt. I finally felt like "me" again. Hang in there it is almost over. I would call the doctors to see about increasing your caloric in take..that may help you too. PS: Maybe you should buy a new scale if yours say error or check the weight limit some scales only go up to a certain weight Good Luck! Paula Banded 04/07/2006 312/297.6/170

It went down fine. I really have no interest in eating now it is weird. My only concern is that once I want to and do start eating again I will gain back the little I am losing now. I am experiencing a bit of pain on my right side. I am thinking it is where the port is. Have you experienced this?? I was banded in Salem, Ma by Dr. Kastrinakis. I have heard that Dr. Ortiz is great! I was lucky and my insurance covered it. Oh yeh, My post op diet included mashed potatoes and mashed carrots. 2nd Day Post-Op and Needing Advise

Thank you for the advice. I have been actually feeling a lot better. I guess my body is getting used to the hunger pains. I have tried to eat mashed potatoes and can only eat a couple of tablespoons at one sitting. But that is fine with me I will take it = ) It is just a hard adjustment to go from eating anything and everything to eating hardly anything. But, that is the point of this right? I must say that I have found this web site extrememly helpful. Thanks again, Paula Banded 04/07/2006 312/302/170

I am getting rather frustrated with the feelings of hunger and not being able to eat anything with substance. My stomach is growling and feels nauseas from hunger all day long. It feels like when you get over from having the flu and all you want to do is eat a piece of toast to settle that "feeling" in your stomach. Does anyone know what I am talking about? Also, It says I can eat Mashed Potatoes...What do they mean by that? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. :hungry: Thanks, Paula Banded 04/07/2006 </TD></TR><TR UNSELECTABLE="on" hb_tag="1"><TD style="FONT-SIZE: 1pt" height=1 UNSELECTABLE="on"> </TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>

    scared...should I be?

Hi Everyone, This is my first thread. I am going in for my band tomorrow at noon. Yikes . I am extremely nervous. I had some blood work done on Tuesday 4/4 and told the nurse that i was nervous. She told me she would put a note in my chart to have them give a sedative as soon as I get to the Hospital. Maybe that is an option for you future banders as well. I am more excited about feeling better about myself ...FINALLY! I have three children 4,2,and 1. I have not been able to play with them like I want to for a long time due to my weight. Life is too short to be unhappy! Good luck all, Paula :clap2: 312/312/170
