In the middle of the night, I somehow rolled over to my stomach. I woke up with this really sharp pain around my port. Now, I am not sure if I had been sleeping on my stomach for a long time or if I had just rolled over, but I woke up yelling, turned over and slept propped up on pillows on my back for the rest of the night. It has been just over a month since I have had my surgery. In the beginning I had the regular soreness, but then slowly started being able to sleep on both sides. Even prior to my sharp port pain last night, I would wake up on my stomach with more of like a muscular pain, or bruise type feeling. Does anyone still get pain where their port is. Can some of you describe the pain that you might feel even after 1 month out from surgery? I just do not know why I woke up with such a sharp pain. I also thought that maybe I was dreaming, but I can remember feeling the pain. Thanks guys!

You know...you make it sound like Obama is a complete idiot and has no brain in his head. If anything, no experience or not...I feel like he would be a wonderful president. He seems like a person who will really dig into issues and think through tough situations. I have confidence in his intelligent mind and compassionate heart. he has great family values and an amazingly intellegent wife. He is young yes...but he is not a baby and I feel like he is at an age where he is young enough and old enough to be able to relate to more Americans. I believe that he would like to start bringing new ideas to us. If Obama becomes president, I think that he is going to do a wonderful job. There have been olther presidents with no experience before too. Trust me Obama is not clueless.

I was watching Nat Geo Taboo and discovered that in some cultures there are up to 5 different genders. It was pretty interesting.

This was a new term for me too, so I found the definition on wiki: Pansexuality, anthrosexuality (anthro- literally meaning human, human sexual), or omnisexuality[1] is a sexual orientation characterized by the potential for aesthetic attraction, romantic love, or sexual desire for people, regardless of their gender identity or biological sex. Thus, pansexuality includes potential attraction to people who do not fit into the gender binary of male/female. Some pansexuals suggest that they are gender-blind; that gender and sex are insignificant or irrelevant in determining whether they will be sexually attracted to others.[2] The word pansexual is derived from the Greek prefix pan-, meaning "all". "All" is specifically in reference to human genders. In its simplest form, pansexuality denotes the potential of sexual attraction to all genders. It is intended to negate the idea of two genders (as expressed by bi-). Because pan- refers only to human genders, and not to sexual practices or people in general, pansexuality does not signify automatic attraction to all people. Similarly, it also does not signify acceptance of all sexual behaviors, such as paraphilias (for example, incest, bestiality, or necrophilia) or fetishes. As with more common sexual identities such as homosexuality and heterosexuality, pansexuality refers to the role of gender in sexual attraction, and not to the role of sexual acts and behaviors. The adjective pansexual may also be applied to organizations or events. In this context, the term usually indicates an openness to the involvement of people of all genders and sexual orientations in said organization/event, and not to the pansexual sexual identity. Contents [hide] 1 Pansexuality versus bisexuality 2 Controversies 3 See also 4 References [edit] Pansexuality versus bisexuality Bisexuality is a sexual orientation characterized by attraction to both men and women. Unlike pansexuality, it does not specifically include people who fall outside the gender binary. However, many people who identify as bisexual are actually attracted to people who fall outside the gender binary. These people, who could be described as pansexual, have a variety of reasons for identifying as bisexual, including widespread unfamiliarity with the term "pansexual" as well as its negative connotations for some people. [edit] Controversies In the widespread sociological community, pansexuality is used as a synonym for bisexuality; due to the lack of physical or neurological proof for genders outside the gender binary.

omg...this was posted by a friend of mine on a different board who is sick of hearing about Yes on 8 (I did not write this...I just thought that it was funny): Date: Nov 3, 2008 3:49 PM Subject: If you don't like gay marriage... Body: blame the straight people... they're the ones that keep having gay babies! lol
-
Whether being gay is a choice, or genetic or a combination of both...what does it matter? We are all different and we all have to come together here on earth. Gay, straight, green, blue, black white or polka dotted...what in the world does it matter? Aren't our differences what makes this world a beautiful place? You know what is kind of sad to me? My really really dear friend (and old roommate) whom I have known for almost 20 years (John Doe) shared something with a common friend of ours. My friend "John Doe" who is a strict Catholic, Republican, traditional and conservative has been struggling with being gay. He has never acted upon it, he feels sad that he feels this way and is scared to share with his friends and family. He feels trapped and like people are going to judge that he is wrong for feeling the way that he does. When I heard this news, I was so incredibly sad that he has been hiding in shame and holding back from the person that he truly is. It is so sad to me having known him for so many years and he has not even had the courage to tell me. I am so worried that he may never be able to come out and remain trapped for the rest of his life. As a friend of his, I want to encourage him to be himself. I wish more than anything that he will somehow find it ok to come out and be who he is. More importantly, I hope that people are not going to be so cruel to him. I can't even imagine what he must be going through inside. He has now moved to Spain and we are in contact via emails and I am really hoping that he is far enough away from home that he feels comfortable opening up some. I just want my friend to be freeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! I wonder how he is going to vote this year...I have no clue.

OMG...that is horrible! Oh nooooooooo, that is really too sad. My father passed away a couple of years ago...I think that he would be shocked and so proud to see Obama running for President. If Obama wins...I certainly hope that my dad somehow is able to see our country's first African-American President.

Nanook...funny post! I know a handful of people in your situation...voting differently from their spouse. Here is something I found...it is long but sweet (no name calling, I promise!): I Didn't Vote For Obama by Kentucky Scott Mon Oct 20, 2008 at 01:24:08 PM PDT I'm a middle-class white guy living in Jacksonville, Florida. I've got a wife and two kids. Because the kids had no school today, I took a vacation day from work, and took the kids downtown to vote early. Fifty-nine minutes later, two smiling children and I proudly sported "I Voted" stickers. But I didn't vote for Obama. I voted for my ancestors, who believed in the promise of this country and came with nothing as immigrants. I voted for my parents, who taught in the public schools for decades. I voted for Steve, an acquaintance of mine from Kentucky. (Killed by an IED two years ago in Iraq). I voted for Shawn, another who's been to Iraq twice, and Afghanistan once, and who'll be going back to Afghanistan again soon -- and whose family earned eleven bucks a month too much to qualify for food stamps when the war started. I voted for April, the only African-American girl in my high school -- it was years before it occurred to me how different her experience of our school must have been. I voted for my college friends who are Christian, Jewish, Mormon, and yes -- Muslim. I voted for my grandfathers, who worked hard in factories and died too young. I voted for the plumber who worked on my house, because I want him to get a REAL tax break. I voted for four little angels from Birmingham. I voted for a bunch of dead white men who, although personally flawed, were willing to pledge their lives, fortunes, and sacred honor, and used a time of great crisis to expand freedom rather than suspend it. I voted for all those people and more, and I voted for all of you, too. But mostly, I voted selfishly. I vote for two little kids, one who has ballet in an hour, and once who has baseball practice at the same time. I voted for a world where they can be confident that their government will represent the best that is in this country, and that will in turn demand the best of them. I voted for a government that will be respected in the world. I voted for an economy that will reward work above guile. I voted for everything I believe in. Sure, I filled in the circle next to the name Obama, but it wasn't him I was voting for -- it was every single one of us, and those I love most of all. Who else is there to vote for?

"Well, now we know why Barack Obama’s been so reluctant to have symbols of this country associated with his campaign. No flags on his airplane. Nix to pins on his lapel. Not inclined to put his hand over his heart during the national anthem. After all, it turns out he has a problem with that other slightly more significant representation of our nation, the United States Constitution. Just as he tried to prove to everyone that his patriotism was demonstrated by the lack of symbols of the United States, so he is now arguing that his passion for the Constitution is demonstrated by his commitment to shredding it." Well duuuuuuuuuuuhhh...it's cuz he's a terrorist! Anyone with any sense could see that...geesh people! And on top of everything else...he hates America...I am sure of it. NOT! Ok, so to be patriotic we all must have flags and pins and red, white and blue and place our right hands over our hearts? Sooooo, if I pray with my eyes open and head raised, or hands not folded...does that mean that I am not Christian...or wait, maybe it means I am Muslim...that makes a lot of sense to me.

I am SURE he won't be affected...I am sure he makes no where near enough money...LOL!

Did Joe the plumber ever pay the taxes that he owed from back whenever?

I was just reading a political article and found this post...kind of not related, but I never even thought of it this way...think about it! (I just found the post, it is not something that I wrote). I guess it just struck me. Not sure if I am being super hyper sensitive right now, but I was at a wine tasting with some friends (dem and rep) and the owner sat down with us. He bought us all drinks and somehow politics comes up. The owner is from Afganistan (name Bob let's say) and we start talking about his country. I told him that I really did not know much about his country, but that I admired how close and loving people from Afganistan are (at least from what I had seen in a friend of mine from there as well...I do admit, I am completely ignorant of the culture in that part of the world). I saw the Kite Runner and loved the movie, spoke to my friend and she told me stories of her people and family and how things were prior to Taliban taking over...her stories just fascinated me. Bob suggested that the book was much better, so I told him that I would pick it up. I love learning about other people and cultures. Anyways, out of the blue the owner (Bob) leans over to my Caucasion friend who is rep. (let's say Dave) and asks him (as though he already knew what Dave's reply was going to be), who he is voting for...my friend simply says McCain and leaves it at that. So I am thinking nothing of it but then thought "oh no, I hope that this doesn't turn into some yelling political scene". So I was just kind of smiling at Bob as he is talking to our entire table at this point, and listening to him, thinking that it was just going to be 1 question and then end, or that we would simply change subjects. Then Bob gives Dave high 5's and said "Me too, I love McCain...alright, I knew you were voting for him too. Most of my Afgan family is voting for Obama. But not me...Gosh, I hate black people!" My heart just stopped for a second, did I really hear him just say that while staring me in the face. (fyi, my mom is white and my dad is black...my skin color a few shades lighter than Bob's). Yes, he did just say that to me in the face of a black/white girl. I was thinking isn't it obvious to him what I am? Maybe not...my hair was straight that night...my friend Dave's gf actually thought that I was latina earlier. But trust me, people know that I am black by looking at me usually. OMG...what was I going to say. So my husband (who is from Finland whiter than snow), says "this is ridiculous...Let's go!" So before we go I told bob that i thought his comments were rude and I told him that he seems racist and just afraid that an intelligent black man with what seems like a wonderful family and has a good head on his shoulders may be our next pres. I proceeded to tell him that I am also black and white and then he says our favoite thing. Oh I have friends that are black...I like black people...don't get me wrong...", enough was enough, so we got up to leave and then bob says...see that is how YOU people are, you get mad and walk away...you can't have an argument, blah blah blah and whatever else he was blabbing. I guess his ignorance and hatred got to me...I had to leave his presence. Here is that post that I had found...it just made me think. It was something that I had not thought of before, but it is true...what if the lives and the candidates were reversed... DMOCRATICAN 05:10 PMOct 24 2008 Could racism be the culprit? Ponder the following:What if the Obamas had paraded five children across the stage, including a three month old infant and an unwed, pregnant teenagedaughter? What if John McCain was a former president of the Harvard LawReview? What if Barack Obama finished fifth from the bottom of hisgraduating class? What if McCain had only married once, and Obama was a divorcee? What if Obama was the candidate who left his first wife after asevere disfiguring car accident, when she no longer measured up to hisstandards? What if Obama had met his second wife in a bar and had a longaffair while he was still married? What if Michelle Obama was the wife who not only became addictedto pain killers but also acquired them illegally through hercharitable organization? Hmmm..that's all. Not trying to start a fight here...just thought this was interesting.

i think it is so weird for people to claim that they know that obama and bill ayers are such "good friends". I did not know that you knew the obama family so well. i feel like obama is being honest about his relationship with ayers...people are just adding their own fabrications about what a close relationship he has with ayers. scare tactics...is all

you probably think he is a terrorist too...

Luluc...thanks for your posts! I was just about to thank you for saying that you thought that Michelle would make a fantastic first lady as if she was my mom or relative. or something. hehehe.
