  1. I live in Austin and have access to HEB, Central Market, Whole Foods, and WalMart. I read a lot of people on here that are having Greek yogurt and am wondering where I can buy some...it must be good. Is it different/better than regular yogurt? I am not a real yogurt fan...sometimes I find it to be too tart/tangy. But if this many people are eating it, it can't be all that bad.

Do older women lose weight slower?

I agree with everything everyone said to some degree, even though the posts differed a bit. I applaud all of you for your weight loss and dedication to getting healthier and appreciate all of the input. After all, I'm in this for the long haul and I know it won't take the 15 years it took to put it on, to take it off. Thanks everyone!!!

I hate it when people post just to post.....

I am also a newbie with only a few posts. Just remember that we were all newbies at one point, so while our posts may ramble it is probably because we are hungry, tired, and desperate for info that our too-busy surgeons office couldn't answer in a timely manner, so we find ourselves on here seeking the experience of those who have gone before us. I sure all of you that have had your bands for awhile once had the same silly questions we (newbies) have.

    Portion Size

This question has plaqued me as well. I am only 3 weeks out so I know my portion size will change (hopefully) after my first fill on 10/22. I just don't quite get how to get the right amount of protein in such small portion sizes.

    Ready for 1st fill!!!!!

After one week of liquids, my doc moved me on to things like applesauce, runny mashed potatoes and runny refried Beans. But I definitely called and asked first, told him I was starving. Oh....also sf popsicles and fugesicles.
  6. I don't officially start soft foods till tomorrow (3 wks out) but I made some really mushy mac and cheese tonight for my lunch tomorrow and snuck 1 bite. Did anyone else experience ecstasy over their first bite of semi real food....still licking lips....lol!!!

OMG.....in ecstasy over mushy mac&cheese after 3 weeks

Oh I will.....I have been forewarned by many people. Plus I have no restriction right now at all, but I will take it verrrrrry slowly.

    Ready for 1st fill!!!!!

I too am due for first fill on Oct 22 and am experiencing ever increasing appetite....its almost scary, like there is no band at all. Hopefully we will have maybe a tiny bit of restriction after that.....hope so anyway. Good luck!!
  9. I know my question has probably been asked on here before, but I am new (surgery Sept 22) and I am hungry. I actually have tons of questions and am thoroughly annoyed at my surgeons office for their lack of getting back to me with answers. They eagerly took my money (self-pay) beforehand but their interest in my welfare has definitely waned since surgery. I am in the pureed stage for 1 week and am tired of mashed potatoes and fat free refried beans. I cannot stomach even the thought of pureed meat much less the actual taste and am in dire need of some suggestions on what to eat during this stage. Thanks so much!
