Wow, what in the world is the matter with me? I am 9 days post op and chewed on a piece of chicken enchilada. Of course I basically diluted it in my mouth, but now I'm so scared. Rightly so.

Hi, I wanted to pop in and say hi to ya. I also wanted to say you seem to be a christian in some of your wording of things... (I'm a christian, I'm currently a stay at home mommy) I wanted to encourage you along this journey, I was banded a week ago today... I'm doing great, I feel good, I slept in my bed and not the recliner for 2 night now, WOW, I'm happy. I have an amazing little 2yr old and keeping up with her requires energy... and I'm already starting to see a little more energy... maybe it's mindset, but I believe it to be God stepping in and carrying me & showing me how to use this tool.
Hang in there, the chest pain can cause alot of discomfort, but also know it's only temporary!

Dear Malvo12 and Cardinal55, What a comfort to know I'm not alone. Thank you for your response as it's so hard to be patient. Especially when each day feels like a week! I will give it another few days before jumping ahead in my thoughts. I know this surgery was a blessing and I want to do my very best at being successful. You are such an inspiration. Hi, I am so glad to have found this site. This has been a God-send. Reading all of your comments has helped me tremendously - Thanks. I am only 4 days post-op, but still feeling so tight in my chest. I burp all the time and occasionaly have shoulder pain. Is this all normal? I can barley drink liquid without feeling miserable. I think I'm drinking approx 2-3cups of Water a day, About 1/2 C sf Jello a day and am getting about 4-6 g protein(shake) a day. This is much tougher than I ever anticipated. I'm a mom of 3 kids, so I have to keep my energy levels up somehow to still be mommy. So far I've lost 13 lbs, but I'm sure it's all water weight. Please Help! Gratefully, DianaS

Hi Maranda, that's great news! I am only 4 days post op and still can barley tolerate liquids. In fact, I'm having a tough time with my Protein shakes and can't chew my Vitamins yet. But I think this will pass, right? Congratulations. Look forward to hearing more of your success, as it's such an encouragement for those of us right behind you. DianaS

Thank you for your answer - I was beginning to worry. Although the doctor assured me that it will pass in a few days, I am now on day 4 and still no sign this gas and swelling will ever go away. I am burping like a drunken sailor! It's annoying, painful and embarrassing. I can't seem to drink Protein shakes or take my Vitamins yet, because it feels like it gets stuck and hurts like crazy. Is this also normal? Thanks for your reply. DianaS
