I had never had a weight problem until I got pregnant. When I was pregnant, I could not eat. I lost 36 pounds. I was so sick. They had to put me on meds to help me eat. Then he came and all I could do was eat. I was so afraid that I would never eat again. So food became my friend. Post Pardium and food, what a combo. Seemed like I always had something in my mouth. 4 years later I took a look at myself and didn't know who I was. I miss the old me, I am hoping the band will get me back where I was. Control is a huge issue. I always feel bad that I did not finish my dinner. I am having to learn all over again that it is ok to say I am done and put the food away. I also am learning about better choices in what I eat. The band is a huge learning experience. I feel like a skinny person in a fat body, it is very strange.:thumbup:

I have some things, but I am not sure if there is anyone out there my size. right now, I think I am still 18-20 I am not sure. I have some things that are 16 but maybe I should keep those just in case. I know I have some things I dream of getting into. I can't wait to go through my closet.

This is exactly why I went to mexico and got it done. The critera is so much easier and there is only a week or two waiting. Unfortunately I had to pay for it myself but $8000 was not a bad price for the excellent care I received. Now paying the loan off is a bummer but my insurance wanted me to wait some 6 month thing, forget it. I am fat and time is wasting. If they keep denying you, check out your options, trust me. I did and it was the best thing I ever did.

The get together is Nov 8th Sat at 1:00 pm. Anita's Diamondback Grill, Clackamas, Oregon For those who are coming my sister is thinking about putting out a buffett and a salad bar at her restraurant. How does everyone feel about that. She would have several options of what everyone could have. She will put together a menu and then we can chose what we want from 5 to 6 difference Entrees. How does that sound? She wants to know how you all feel about that, cause then you could decide what portion you would want. She doesnt want people to feel pressured to eat alot or spend alot on food they wont eat. She would think about $7.50 for each person. She will give discount on soda or ice tea. If you dont like the idea, let me know but we thought this would be fun to put together and then you would have the control of how much you eat. Let me know what you think.

I have not heard of that dr. I used Dr Ortiz and he was great. If you use this guy, I would get some references before you pay down any money. See if anyone else used him or if they can give you some names of some people to call and check him out.

Those Gas X strips saved me. You gotta have them. They made my gas almost gone. I would highly recommend you get a box of them, they saved my life. I had hardly any pain. Also the sour stomach, I used chicken broth with a little bit of water added on the first day or so, that was good too. I hope it helps. It does get better.

My husband and I were banded at the OCC in TJ by Dr. Ortiz. They treated us so good. They picked us up at airport, took us to hotel. Picked us up and had us stay at their clinic the night of the surgery and then took us back to the hotel. It was excellent medical care and I would recommend the Obesity Control Center in TJ to anyone. Dr Ortiz in my opinion is the best! Also, he is a total hunk and I loved even talking to him, he is a kick in the pants. He had me laughing about the whole thing. We had no pain what so ever. I have to say the care I got in Mexico is better than I have recieved in the US.:grouphug:

I have that too, I was banded on 09/19/08 and everything is fine. It just is weird. When I go get my fill under flouro, I am going to ask if they can tell me what it is, I figured it was where they sewed the tube in but what do I know. I have no clue. If you find out, let us know ok?

I was banded with my husband on the 19th of Sept.:thumbup: I am still in the liquid phase but I really have no idea when to tell if I am full.:tt2: I get this feeling, like I am starting to not feel well, so I guess that would be it. Or sometimes a tightness in my chest. But I figured since it was liquid it wouldnt be like that. I guess I have to learn to set a limit because my body is confused. I dont want to hurt the band. I have 6 more days and then I can eat and that scarres me too. Will I then know I am full? Will I get food stuck? I really dont want to go through that at all. I think I may start out with mashed potatos and gravy and see what happens. So far I have lost 8 pounds since surgery. That is not much for 3 weeks. I sure hope I start losing me, or I will be totally disappointed.

I know, I am on another site too and I have got lots of support. I will never think of food the same way again.

Hello, I am new. I was banded on 09/19/08 at the OCC in Tijuana. So far so good. Hubby was banded same day with me. I am on the other site too but thought I would come here to see what else I can learn from others. It has been an interesting time. I am still on the liquid diet and I have 6 days left. God I can't wait to eat. I want some chicken maybe even a salad. I know I have to be careful. Anyhow, just wanted to say hello. Thanks:thumbup:
