It didn't take any longer than completing the paperwork; since I'm a cash patient I don't have any insurance qualifications or special testing needed.

Hi all, I've made the decision to have the lap band, discovered my insurance pays for ZERO towards the cost so I have a great brother who agreed today to be my bank! Now I need to get to the doctor. I've attended seminars and selected the doctor - no, I'm not going to Mexico. I hope to get pre-surgery tests out of the way in October and then ???? I've heard about diet restrictions-which should not be an issue since I have to make myself eat-but what I haven't found much info on is the recovery/pain/hassle/problems of doing the band. I think I created my weight problem by up/down diets over the years and the absolute sedate physical environment I'm living - up until now that is... I have an appointment at the newly opened LA Fitness just down the street from where I live - they have a swimming pool that I"l actually use. I just cant make myself walk, knees extremelly painful. Your thoughts?
