Hi JoannMarie, I already send for those 2 books you reffering to. I'm still waiting for my date. I realize that the time God was giving me was to prepare myself psychologicaly for that big event. It's going to be a completely different way of living and I'm sure the book you were saying is going to help me a lot. Thanks again, clempier

Hi Nancy, Right now, I don't know what to think. I got in just two days 4 differents versions. 1st one: He is going to start with the lapband in January 2nd one: He's only going to start in March 3rd one: My friend's friend got his date for a while now 4th one: My friend who works at that hospital told me they were still waiting for some equipment. I think the best thing to do is wait patiently for a letter from the hospital with our date. This way, we won't put our hope up and then down because we get different stories. As soon as I get mine, I'll let you know right away. Talk to you soon -
To all, Thank you so much for your support and for the informations. I will sure look for that book you're talking about. clempier

Dear Ladyroz, Thank you so much for your encouragment. I thank God for this christian bandsters. I don't know any christian sisters or brothers who when through a lapband. It's new around here. I don't even know if Dr. Savoie started his surgery yet. My sister-in-law heard that Dr. Savoie is just suppose to start his surgeries in March only. I think, we're going to hear different story. So the best thing to do is to wait for my date and pray God to prepare me for that new life who's ahead of me. Thanks again. clempier, Beresford Canada

Hi tutornmom, Thank you for posting today. That's exactly what I needed. I'm explaining myself. I've been waiting for my date for 4 months now and I have been having all kinds of thoughts these days. At church, we're having a week fast and prayer week. I thought, since I'm diabetic, I can't skip a meal but I sure can not eat after supper. I did 3 evenings and I had a hard time. I couldn't anymore on the 4th evening. I woke up hungry, had my breakfast, still hungry and even after my meals and my snack at 10h, I was still hungry. It was like that all day long so by 20h, I couldn't anymore and I ate. I'm trying to lose weight by doing Weight Watchers by myself. I wasn't proud of myself at all. I then realized It was my days before my period and usually those days are the hardest days of the month, I can eat and eat and still be hungry. I'm scare for the futur even if my head says God is there and He's going to help me but there's a part of me who says How am I going to do when I'll have my surgery? Are you hungry? I was sure it was God's will for me to have that surgery and right now I'm not so sure, it's as if I don't know anymore. Is it because I'm expecting my period that I'm like that. I say to myself it just a feeling not God's will. I think I just need a but a encouragment. clempier

Hi Nancy, I was thinking, it would be funny if we had our surgery the same day. I would think, he's able to do at least 5 to 6 surgery per day. I just called someone who knows someone who already got his date. He had his date for a while now. He had to go to "Simply for Life" program for a couple of months before his surgery. That's what Dr. Savoie asked him. I know he is scheduled for January but I don't know the exact date. My friend is not at home right now. I left a message and he'll probably call me later. If I know something else, I'll let you know. clempier -

Hi Nancy, I haven't heard from Dr. Savoie other than he said to my friend he was starting his surgeries in January and it was the Lapband his was planning to do first. Are you one of Dr. Savoie patient? clempier -
For those waiting for Dr. Savoie, Good news, my friend who's going for the sleeve went to see Dr. Savoie who told her he was planning to do the lap band surgery first. He will start after the Holiday's. I'm really anxious to have my date on paper. It's like seeing a light at the end of the tunnel. clempier

Mama_eve_78, Your Dr. has to make a refferal to the Dr. you want. If you're diabetic or any sickness and the Lapband would help or even completely take it away (like me, I'm diabetic), I don't have to pay anything for the surgery. clempier

Dear Mama_eve_78, I know Dr. Savoie is suppose to start his surgeries in January and he's new. So, maybe, his list is not as long as Dr. Beausoleil because he is new on the field. I'm just guessing here. Or you can call both and ask if they have a long list. Hope it'll work for you. clempier

Hi Missy123, I'm going through all those questions myself. I'm like you, the waiting is killing me. I was talking to my husband on the phone and I was asking him if he had check the mail . . . he didn't. He stayed in Beresford and my daughter and I are in Saint John at my Mom & Dad's place. No, I didn't hear anything from them or from someone else regarding any surgery or if they got all the equipment they were waiting for. I hope we're going to hear from them pretty soon. I hope you're going to have a great Christmas and a Happy New Years and my wish for you is for you to receive your date soon . . . REALLY SOON. clempier -

For those who are waiting like me, Right now I'm in Saint John at my Mom & Dad's place for Christmas. I was thinking, next year at this time, I'm going to be band and it's going to be really different from this year. Hopefully, less weight on my body. It's funny but it seems like a dream. I have a hard time to see it real. clempier -

Professor Peter, Thank you, now I know how to use loose, lose and lost. They say French is hard to learn but sometimes, English is too. Learning a new language is a chalenge but it has it's reward. Learning is a lifetime processing. clempier -

Hi Missy123, I don't know if it's true about once a week and I'm like you I'm pretty anxious too. Like fousilly was saying, in one day they can do at least 5 or 6 lap band surgeries. I was at the hospital today for blood test and I almost went and ask if they had a date schedule for my surgery on their computer but I didn't. I'm wondering if we call they would tell us? clempier -

Dear Missy123, What I heard is that the maximum of surgery he can do in a weed is one because they have a schedule for all the surgeons so they can each have their turn. The new operating rooms are not ready yet. That's what I've heard the last time I was at the hospital. I'm going to Saint John for part of the Holidays, hope I'll behave. Right now, I'm having a really hard time to lose weight. Here, I have a stupid question. For me if I write loose it's in the present and if I write lose, it's in the past but for some reason some people use both for the present. So what's the right way to write it in the present and the right way to write it in the past? Thank you for the answer. . . clempier Beresford, NB -

Hi inuit, Dr. Savoie didn't say anything about losing weight before the 2 weeks on SlimFast. I thing, he said different things to different people. Dr. Savoie asked the guy who already got his date to go to Fit for Life and lose weight before. For me it was only the 2 weeks prior the surgery and I have one of my friend who's going to have the lapband surgery plus the duodenal switch, he didn't say anything to her before going for the surgery. Not even the 2 weeks on SlimFast. Maybe we're going to receive some pre-op paper and it will say otherwise, I don't know. I hope they're going to receive all the equipement they need soon. clempier, NB Canada -

Hello Missy123, I chose the regular lap band surgery for different reasons. The main ones are: I'm 49 years old, not a little bup even if I don't feel my age, I have a 10 years old daughter, I can't be away from my work for a long period of time (I'm a ressource teacher), the lap band is the less invasive procedure and finaly I'm diabetic and the less they cut, better is for me because the healling process is slower and the possibility of an infection is higher. I don't know if you're like me but I've been trying to lose weight because less fat you have around your organs better it is for him during surgery but let say I'm not please with the results at all. I don't even know if I can say results, I should say a trying. Kind of hard with Christmas coming, and all. I took something similar to SlimFast, worked for the first week and than the second week didn't work at all. Probably because I was just doing it during the week and not the weekend. Sometimes it doesn't take much to undo what you're trying to do. I don't know, maybe when I'll know my date it's going to give me a good kick in the butt. A friend and I are planning to do like what we use to do went we were going to WWatchers, put 2$ every week in a pot and boost one another. . . after the Holiday's. How about you, have you try to lose some weight? clempier Beresford, NB Canada -

Dear fousilly, Dr. Savoie does it with the lap band, not with the sleeve. That's what I understood. I don't know if it's call Duodenal Switch, sorry! clempier, N.B. Canada -

Hi Missy123, I haven't got my date yet but I can tell you last time I was in Dr. Khan's office they told me they were still waiting for some equipment. I heard one guy got his surgery date. He's suppose to go in January so, me too, I'm waiting impatiently for my date. I use to go to the post office everyday (even use to walk when I didn't have the car) but when they told me that, I stop going everyday. I think we're going to hear from him pretty soon. I would think sometime it January. The sleeve's procedure is to stapple you stomack and make it as if it was tube like this ||. I did a lot of research on the internet and I already knew what I wanted before meeting Dr. Savoie. I'm going for the lap band surgery. The sleeve was my second choice and if he would of tell me that It would of been better for me the have the lap band with part of your intestine cut and plug on your stomack, I don't know what I've would of choose. I don't regret in any way my decision to have the lap band surgery done on me. One of my friend is going for that procedure and she's really happy about her decision. She's going to loose faster but I think maybe she'll have to get more plastic surgery than me . . . even if she's younger than me hi! hi! Let me know if you heard about your date yet. It's nice to know people in your erea who's going through the same thing as you. clempier, Beresford, N.B. -

Dear ancasterpheonix, Maybe I don't have the right term because I'm French but I'm going to try to explain what I mean by re-route. They do a regular lap band but what they add is they cut your small intestine and replug where they cut near your stomach. I think they do that for the stapple surgery. I know the part they cut is where your small intestine digest your fat so if it's not there anymore, the fat can't stick on you. I'm not a surgeon so I can't explain it the way Dr. Savoie explained it to me. clempier, N.B. Canada -
Dear NeverB4, Thank you so much for sending me this verse. I seem to forget that I'm not alone in this. I know God is giving me time to work things in my mind before the surgery. He's the one who knows when I'll be really ready for it. Thank you so much to reminding me. clempier, New-Brunswick Canada

Hi to all, I'm still waiting for the letter in the mail who's going to tell me the date of my surgery. My cousin, who's a nurse at the hospital where I'm going to have my surgery told me that they were still waiting for medical supplies or machinery. But then, someone told me that his best friend got his date so mine should arrive pretty soon. I know God when I'll be ready physicaly and emotionnaly for the surgery. Right now, I'm following a course for people who suffer from different kind of abus in their life. He really showed me that I felt I had no voice and therefor I ate my emotions. I couldn't say how I felt, it was like if what I felt and what I was thinking was not important. I'm like that as long as I can't put a name on my problem I can't change it or ask God to change something I'm not aware of. Bless our Lord for his wisdom and his love for us. clempier, New-Brunswick Canada:wub:

Hi again dear Long2bThin, You can't imagine how it helps me to hear from christians who are going through the same as me. I check every day to see if anyone send me anything. The more I talk to christians and I pray, the more I'm at peace and I know God will help me when the time will come. My husband is overweight too and he likes to eat. He said he's going to support me but I think he's going to find it hard. Right now, there's a lot of things in our life who's "on hold". We're waiting for a loan, we're suppose to sign the papers this Friday coming up, I'm waiting for the surgery, and we're also waiting for a job in Fort McMurray for my husband. We really need him to go there and have a salary that would help us to pay all our depts (he's a cook/baker) so guess who cooks at home???? hi!hi! I would appreciate some prayers. clempier N.B. Dear JoannMarie, Thank you so much for the info. I'm going to try to find the book you're talking about. I really don't want to mess that last chance God is giving me to be the vase He wants me to be. I want to be able to do things for Him but right now because of my weight, I have no energy, I'm diabetic. I'm praying God to set me free. clempier, N.B. Canada
