If you count my milk I am getting enough Water. Other wise its about six cups a day. I am most definalty not getting too much sodium. I hate salt. I know sodium is in other things but still I am positive I am good on sodium. And yes I have been tracking like crazy. After the first week I had my phone coaching and I had lost a pound so she showed me well this is how many calories you burned and this is how many calories you probably ate. Opened my eyes and I was like OK I have to write down EVERYTHING. So I have.

She pretty much just showed me around the site. It only lasted half an hour. I am glad I did it. But I hadn't done a lot of looking around on the site because I knew I was going to get the phone coaching. If you have the time to spare I would do it. Just to make sure you are getting to take advantage of all the things available. One thing she showed me that really opened my eyes was where it takes how many calories you burned and how much weight you lost (for the week) and shows you how many calories (on average) you probably really ate during the day. I only lost a pound this week so it showed me I really have to be careful with putting my calories in.

I had my phone coaching on Friday. She told me to wear it for the first week to bed which I did. Then after that she said I could just wear it once a week to bed.

How long do you have to wait to get PG after the band..?
tiffanye replied to Kristen80's topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
I had my my band placed in Jan of 09. I asked my doctor how long she wanted me to wait in August and she said I could conceive anytime. -
I got mine at costco.com for 179. with the 12 month activaion. I am not a member of costco so i had to pay nine dollars extra plus 11 for tax so I ended up spending 200 for mine! This deal ends at the end of the month. they do have some good deals!
-
I ordered one today too! Where did you get yours? I got my from Costco.com

Oh I am not saying it doesn't hurt for woman who haven't had children. I am sure there is a little pain. But wait until you give birth and you will understand.

I GUARANTEE you that it felt nothing like a "mild labor".

tiffanye replied to msampson's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have lost 48 pounds. Its has been real slow since July. I have only had to fills for a total of 1.5 cc if I remember correctly. I need more fills but they are so expensive. I am getting another in Jan. though. I have another 52 pounds to get to my initial goal of 150. -
For the low-carb, low-fat pre-op dieters!!!
tiffanye replied to ccweeks's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i like ground turkey that is 97% fat free grill it. it is pretty good i eat it with a little bit of ketchup. turkey breast slices are also pretty good on the grill. -
when i had mine inserted i didn't feel anything other then a regular exam but after it was put in I went to walmart and it felt like something was poking me for a day or two. but now i don't feel anything. My doctor told me i don't need to check my string and she said she cut them short. I have had it for a about two and half years (can't believe my baby is that old!) and i have never checked it.
-
I eat the walmart fat free vanilla ice cream it really isn't bad. 1/2 cup is 70 cals i would think you wouldn't put more then a 1/4 of a cup of ice cream in so that would be 35 cals total! mmmm forgot about rootbeer floats....

anyone else have BCBS for Fed employees in Ohio?
tiffanye replied to abbylamb's topic in Insurance & Financing
I have the basic I had a BMI over 40 i think it was 43. I didn't have to do any special diet before to be approved and after my psych eval i was approved in like three days. I had to pay a 100 dollar copay for the surgeon. there was a co-surgeon but she didn't count. So I just had to pay the 100. Although i did stay over night because my hospital was too far way my doc wanted me to stay over night. if i hadn't been an inpaitent i would have had to pay for the supplies in the operating room including the band. So since it was inpaitent i only paid the copay. i don't remember where I saw this in the book. its tricky to find and i had to show the insurace people at my hospital because they had never came across it. i think it was like in with the general surgery info. -

how much are you guys paying for fills? mine are $100. -
I have BCBS of IL my husband works for the Post Office so I can't remember if it was different or not (its amazing how much you forget after you have had your surgery) But anyway here is just some FYI that you will have to check into...If I was doing outpatient surgery I was going to have to pay for all the medical supplies during surgery but if it was outpatient I would just pay my $100 copay. I had mine done in Indy since that was so far away the doc wanted me to stay the night so tada inpatient. And all of my fills are $100 just a heads up (ouch I didn't know that when I had the surgery and it stops me from getting fills sometimes.) I didn't have to do a 5 year or 6 month diet. I met the requirements and was approved a week later.

I think it means like as a meal replacement..its one of the proteins that my doctor recommends. its not that bad but I think it kind of leaves an after taste.

I have the same problem....my jeweler has a sizer that is metal that fits in the inside of your ring you can't really tell its there and it was like 5 dollars for them to put it in.

I was banded on Jan 28th and I have lost 46 lbs. I get about 1000-1200 cals a day. I eat about a cup of food at each sitting. This summer i was HORRIBLE at watching what I ate but i did work out about five days a week (walking three days water aerobics two days) So over the summer I only lost four pounds. This week I have been trying to get back on track and really watch what I am eating. I don't feel like I need a fill because I can eat a cup of food and it will keep me satisfied for a few hours.

I am surprised to see so many of you say you PB at least once a week or so. I have NEVER PB and I THINK I have been stuck before (felt like something was kinda stuck in my chest but it was very short lived) I don't take small bits and I don't chew chew. I asked my doctor about not PB'ing or getting stuck and she said thats a good thing....I am not to tight. So I guess I don't understand why you guys do have those problems and I don't.

I am down 45 lbs with 55 more to go....I have 4 cc in my Realize Band. I have only lost five pounds over the summer. But I wasn't really working toward it. Starting today I am going to start really start watching what I eat again. I have been exercising at least five days a week.

Since its Saturday I can't call the doctor but I thought I would ask here first. Today I was just thinking about my surgery and went to find my port. It use to be right on my incision. Now its about an inch and half above it. I have no pain and its not bothering me. I have been doing ab exercises and noticed Thursday night they were starting to become easier. So I know its attached to my muscle I was just wondering if it moved because my muscles are tightening up?

Weight watchers and the Band I cannot believe this!!!!
tiffanye replied to BubblyBandit's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I am a member of Babyfit. where i talk to moms who had babies the same month as me. and we are all real supportive and friends. so when i started WW a couple of years ago i got on the WW board and they were HORRIBLE. i posted once about something and all i got was mean responses too. so i never posted there again. its weird that it is that way because although i am not "close" with anyone on these boards i have found everyone on to be nice and supportive like my babyfit board. -
I don't have a ticker yet...I need to get on the ball. But I was banded on the 28th and I was just checking in to see how all you were doing. I haven't needed a fill yet. The doctor said I could cancel my april appointment if I still felt like I didn't need a fill. That is in two weeks and I am still feeling pretty good. As of today I am down 31 pounds! Only 11 pounds away from 199. I am just so excited. I was worried this wouldn't work and everyone would know I had the lap band and I was failing at it but so far so good!

How do you take in enough calories?
tiffanye replied to BearSpiritGuide's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i used UNJURY protein mix in my crystal light. It really helped curve the hungry.
