back to square one - band slip fixed - back on liquids

I also have had that lava feeling--for me that was reflux and bad reflux. I take prescription pills twice a day and still get reflux with some foods. Thanks to all who responded to my post. My nausea is much better. I think I had irritated my band through eating too fast and not chewing well enough and at times pding. Hopefully I learned something from this. I was private pay and it would be financially devastating to have to pay again.

How did your doctor figure out your band had slipped? I am nauseated a lot but seem to get better in the evenings. I was self pay and am very scared that I have slipped
  3. I was banded in June. Since the beginning my loss has been rather slow but somewhat steady. About 3 months after surgery I took myself off my estrogen replacement therapy-premarin, because someone told me it would cause you to retain fluid. I dropped 10 pounds in 2 weeks. I lasted two months without the premarin but the hot flashes and lack of sleep were killing me. Now I am back on premarin and again the scale is not moving. Anyone have suggestions. I am going crazy.

14 cc band and not losing

Thanks for the help. I know this too will pass, but it helps to hear from others
  5. I was banded at the end of JUne. My weight loss was going along fine but since the first of September I have been at a plateau. I have lost one pound in five weeks. I am walking 5 days a week for about 20 minutes and started keeping a food journal. That only made things more frustrating because I saw what I was eating and still not losing weight. I have the 14 cc band and even though I have about 9 ccs of saline, I am still not feeling any restriction. So I am relying on willpower and to be truthful if I had been good with willpower I wouldn't have needed the LAP Band. I am confident in my doctor but I am definitely sad and disappointed. I just want to know has anyone else had this experience. When do you get restriction with the 14 cc band--I know we are all different but just to give me an idea. Help:blushing:

    Frustrated

I am new to this...so bear with me. I was banded June 25th. By the first of September I had about 40 pounds. Then I hit a brick wall. I have now lost 1 pound in five weeks. I am exercising, keeping a journal, and am very frustrated. I have been getting fills every two weeks. I have the 14 cc band. I have been filled to 9.5 and am still feeling no restriction. This sheer willpower crap sucks...if I had been good at willpower I wouldn't have had the LAP BAND. Does anyone else have the 14 cc band? I know we are all different but I would be interested in finding out if anyone else has had this experience.

    Plateau

Hi All I too am having trouble with a plateau. I have fluctuated up and down, only to wind up losing only one pound in five weeks. I got banded June 25th and have lost 40 pounds total. To be frank I am rather frustrated. Wishing your wife the best of luck. I would love to hear from some who have made it through a plateau, especially with some tips to share!!!
