  1. My surgeon makes you wait for at least 6 weeks. He told me this is due to swelling around the new pouch and it takes weeks for it to reduce. I was not hungry for the first 4-5 weeks after and had a hard time just getting in the water and needed protien.
  2. HI

Hope your feeling better. I too, have crabby days--when I thought about it I was tired, sore, and hungry. So I am really keeping track and journaling my food--a pain but worth it. I purchased Whey protien powder at Whole Foods but they sell it at GNC, Target, etc. Mix it with skim milk, a little ice, and blend it in a blender. I also go some high protien mixes at Unjury.com. The chicken soup one can be added to broth or cram of chicken and really pumps up the protien. Hope this helps. I am still uncomfortable but do see an improvement in the past 2 days-- guess it all takes time. take care

    Just banded and really unsure

I was banded on 9/25 and still need some medication for the pain. It is a balance between pushing myself to move and recover and allowing myself to relax and heal. This is new for all of us. I that I agree with most of you--stay on top of the pain. Call your doctor if it gets worse or if meds do not help. I just keep thinking---in another month this will be just a fuzzy memory replaced by the feeling of setting and reaching new goals. take care and allow yourself to rest, restore, and recover. Linda
