    Protein bullets?? Help

can someone give me some links and the best protein bullets out there??:rolleyes2: also i read that our bodies can only absorb 20-25 grams of protein in a sitting?? how much time between each serving!!??? is any of this true?? why would they sell 42gm protein drinks? does this mean im not getting all those grams of protein from my 32gm piece of chicken?? do i need a predigested protein bullet drink...?? i am looking to down some protein fast each day.... sometimes i miss lunch or breakfast (never both, never everyday) when i am busy... and i can feel the loss the next day... tired!! so anyone have any good advice??
  5. ok so AFTER my surgery(surgery only took 45 minutes...because he said the band was so easy to place) he said that my stomach was smaller than expected....which would make it hard for me right now .....and that i was going to have to tough it out... and schedule my first fill for 5 weeks rather than at 6 weeks. i figured that meant around week 4 i would start to get really hungry....NOT STARTING YESTERDAY!! OH MY GOD... I AM DYING FOR WEEK 2 TO START JUST SO I CAN GET SOME RELIFE FROM SUGAR FREE PUDDING AND CREAMY SOUP.!!! is this normal? is there something else i should be doing?? i am getting all my protein and drinking fluids alllllllllll daaaaaayyyy looooong... help... ......at night ive been getting a little anxious... feeling like... oh my god... what did i do... im starving... im never going to get to eat again... i do some meditation to relax and im fine... my guts feel a mess i feel like i cant get a burp out... and i havent had a bowl movement since 9/28 in the morning! .......HELP ....SUPPORT....SOMETHING...:smile2::crying:
  6. just an informal update... i am doing great and excited for fish.. i am also noticing increased hunger and less restriction...increasing everyday...im currently eating about 1/3 to 1/2 of what i used to eat in a sitting... so im incredibly happy!! it is so weird i feel totally full and satisfied on so much less than before...its like a no brainer diet... make the appropriate food choices and win win win!! so i cant wait for my first fill november 5th... also... im going to stick with dr. weiner for my first fill... he was my surgeon and is fabulous so far... even called me personally when i left a msg about acid reflux with the coordinator... great dr... great place to have the surgery!! but yes... make sure you are well informed before you go... on everything!! and question everything you think may be wrong...
  7. sooo... is there a specific reason you have to wait 4 weeks to have sex after getting the band?? i mean if im able to be on an elliptical machine for 30 minutes why cant i romp for just a sec?? just a light one??

ok... see!! 16lbs!! you will never see those pounds again...unless of course you start downing the milkshakes and what not... think about this.... you would have already gained back 10 of those 16lbs in this last week had you not gotten this band!!.... you are fine... !!! you are not failing... !!! i drink the EAS ready made shakes and to tell you the truth... i f-ing hate them... i hate all liquids right now... hahaha..... i hate my unjury... i hate it all... (though i prefer my unjury just because i can get in 70g of protein in 2.5 drinks... rather than choking down 4-5 EAS ready made drinks)... i cant wait for fish!! ive been singing a song all day about crab legs... because they are only 8 days away... hahahahaha

just wondering... were you doing clear liquids all this past week?? aside from your protein drinks?? and also did you lose much weight during your pre-op diet?? i really think you should call your dr's office and ask for some advice on monday... ...i know that weight loss during this healing period is supposed to be seen as a bonus... so you have to consider that... also... if you already lost some weight pre-op maybe this is your stalling period... you shouldnt be worrying too much about the weightloss right now... i lost 13lbs the first week... however i only had to do the preop diet for 5 days on which i lost nothing... so consider the differences in bodies... ....though the peanut butter maybe helping you choke down your protein drinks right now... (and you really do need the protein)... peanut butter has a decent amount of fat...especially if you are scooping it in to your drinks all day long... you should really see what your nutrionist has to offer in terms of help... ....... and just to remind you how different everyone is... during my first week... it took me 2 hours to finish a protein drink... there is no way i could have tolerated peanut butter... even water was hard to drink... .........dont be afraid to make the call to your dr....they gave you the tool... they can help you use it best...

    surgery 9/29/08 ....NOW IM HUNGRY!!

I am doing better, but I still feel hungry. I cant wait until I can eat normal food. I dont care if it's less than I used to eat, just something I can chew. For now you just have to relax and focus on TODAY. I get those same "never be normal again" feelings. That's when I jump on this website and get some inspiration from people who have "returned to normal" haha. Yesterday was sort of hard for me too. I was more sore than previously. Lots of abdominal pain last night, but gone this morning. On top of that, nothing was keeping me full for very long. When I added it up still only 570 calories. My weight loss has stopped but really I dont care right now. As I've read on here this is "the healing period" and any weight loss now is sort of like a bonus. I can't wait to be allowed to workout for real, because it will help get my mind off wanting to eat; and make me feel like I am being proactive towards my goal. Instead of just sitting around miserable.:wink2: Just know, that what we are going through right now is probably the hardest part. Hugs!:cursing:

listen i was banded on the 9/29 and freaked out much like you. in fact my fat and on a diet husband ate 2 sausage egg mcmuffins in front of me today and ive been angry ever since. i cried all the first week... go to unjury.com and order the vanilla... or try the atkins shakes... you just have to choke them down until you eat normal food again... hang in there... you will make it in just a couple weeks!! ....i agree i was in more pain than after childbirth... however if you have been vomitting your protien drinks you need to call your dr.
  14. I was banded on 9/29/08 by the wonderful Dr. Weiner; of GREAT LAKES WEIGHT LOSS. So far, so good. I would say however that their follow up care (to date) is not for someone who is not self motivated. (THANK GOD I AM) I would love for them to add a nutritionist to their staff. Also, when I arrived on the floor after surgery. The nurse I had didnt seem to know whether or not I was allowed Water or ice. My mouth and throat was burning and dry from surgery. My clear liquid diet arrived with (broth, minute maid lemonade, and jello) she says..."there have that"... I took a gulp of the minute maid and nearly died from it "not going down". FIVE HOURS later, the dietitian shows up. Tells me..."oh no!! hands me a 1oz cup and says sips of water and suck on ice only for now!!"... ridiculous.!!! I also was sent home with Lovenox, and just happend upon a post on this board about a woman who wasn't supposed to be sent home with the meds (from great lakes weight loss as well) ...I called to check on my status with them, and I also was told not to continue the injections. Also, after spending $60 for them at the Harper Pharmacy. She received a direct call from the DR. apologizing; I did not. So... be prepared to do alot of your own research and reading before and after surgery ON YOUR OWN, if you go with Great Lakes Weight Loss. (As you should anyway) While Dr. Weiner is wonderful, seriously knowledgable, and so comfortable to talk to; some of the staff is seriously lacking. Hopefully in the future they will spend as much time involving themselves with aftercare, as they do marketing their self-pay plan. With all of that said; I would most certainly chose Dr. Weiner, if I had to do it all over again. He is the greatest!
