From the album: Below goal weight!
Up a bit from my lowest weight here, but I was VERY Happy at this weight! (I think I was 155-160) -
-
Hey everyone!!! I haven't been on here in way too long! I got married on May 20th! I'll try to post a picture..... Our honeymoon was amazing--we went to Maui for 9 days. Wish we could have stayed for a month! Overall, doing well! Taking just one summer class right now. Chemisty. ICK! I hate it!! Only 2 weeks to go, then I'll have a break until August 23rd. I've been SUCKING at working out!!! I really wanted to get in shape this summer since I'm swamped with school/studying all Fall/Spring. (Nice excuses Amy....) But I've yet to do more than several couple mile walks in the evenings. My body is "loose!" I need some accountability.... My eating hasn't been "horrible" but I know I've lacked on fruits/veggies. Weight is holding steady, for right now. Anyway--Better get some work done. I just got here from class. Just checking in with you all!
-
I'm not sure? LOL...I've done it before, a long time ago, but I can't remember how?
-
LOL, It looks like just a blank post in that one post. :-) So true, I can see myself getting attached, so I'll have to work on that! All I could think of if that baby is being ignored at the hospital, what is going to happen to him at home? :-(
-
Thanks!! The hospital I job shadowed at has a lot of young moms (like a lot of 14-16 year olds) :-( and moms with substance abuse issues, which of course effects the babies. :-( I got to spend several of the 12 hours I was there just holding and feeding one little one that had drugs in his system who's mom was too busy on her phone to do it. It's so sad, but I need to realize not everyone has that instant instinct or desire to "mother" her baby.
-
I'm so happy for you Lisa! So glad things are going so much better for you now!! That just shows you're IN CONTROL and nothing can stop you!! We've all got this!! Labor/Delivery, NICU is right where I'd LOVE to be someday!! :-) I got to job shadow with a friend in that unit. I got to see a baby be born, it was amazing. (I've had 4 kids of my own, but it's different watching someone else!) And then that same baby ended up in the NICU so I got to see that whole process too. I only needed 2 hours of shadowing for the class I was doing, but I was having so much fun and learning so much, I stayed her whole 12 hours shift. I can't wait until I can actually be "doing" stuff! :-) Off to work I go, have a great day!!
-
So glad you were able to talk to someone and get that all out in the open!! I've heard a lot of Gastric bypass patients end up having issues with alcohol. :-( I honestly can't drink more than about 1/2 glass of wine or I get sick. I'm too busy with work/nursing school/ kids to fit drinking in there, LOL. That's probably a good thing! Wednesday nights are my only evening I "allow" myself to not do homework/studying and I usually will have 1/2 glass of wine too. It's like my treat for getting through classes for the week. Then Saturday evenings we typically go on a date (if you call going to church and then grocery shopping a date!) You can "talk" to us anytime!! It's never too much info for me. :-) Gotta run! I'll try and check in more often!
-
Hey!! I never saw this post back in December!? I'm so happy for you that you're doing well!!! But be careful with that drinking girl! :-) You don't want to drink your calories, especially alcohol since it's chocked full of sugar. I find myself wishing I still got "sick" easily, LOL!! Although, I just ate half of a cookie from Panera and I'm totally nauseous, so I'll take that--now I'll be turned off from eating those Cookies, at least for a while! :-) I had a breast lift 4 weeks ago and am VERY happy!! Congrats on your surgeries too!! I didn't have implants done (much to my fiancé's dismay, LOL) so I'm actually a little smaller than I was before. I'm a 34, large C, small D right not. I used to be a 42DDD!! I wouldn't "mind" a tummy tuck someday, but I'm not set on it. Only one person sees my belly besides me, and he's totally ok with it. He was ok with my boobs too, but wow--I didn't realize how much the way they were affecting my self-esteem/ confidence. I'm not fully healed yet, so I'm anxious to really see the final result. I've creeped up a bit more since the last time I posted. I'm at about 155-157 now. But honestly, if I could tone some areas up, I'd be pretty happy. I'd still love to lost about 6-8 pounds before my wedding (May 20th) but I can't exercise, other than walking (and it's too cold out for me now!) for another month I think.... I've really been watching my food choices and being really careful, since I can't exercise right now. But I can really tell my hips/stomach/thigh area is getting "loose" :-( Dang it! My blood work all came back normal. My B12 was just a tad low, but she said I'm absorbing it, so that was good. I wasn't taking any B12, so I take 1, every other day now. Be careful with your iron levels!! If you're too low for too long, it can do permanent damage!! :-( My typical food daily is: Breakfast, wheat toast with Peanut Butter, or 2 eggs with cheese/ veggies. Lunch: Either a sandwich on whole grain with turkey, cheese, veggies...or a salad with turkey & ham, or grilled chicken and tons of veggies. Dinner: Some kind of meat, veggie and small amount of carb(Potato, rice, etc.) Snacks are typically string cheese, hard boiled egg, pop corn, dried fruit/ nuts, yogurt, fruit, raw veggies....those are my go to's. :-) Not to say I don't have an occasional glass of wine, a few cookies here and there....I can handle about 4 pieces of candy (like starbursts) then I'm sick, LOL. Absolutely no ice cream. I get VERY sick, quickly. NOT WORTH IT! :-) I have developed being hypoglycemic. Ended up in the ER twice before we figured out what it was. I just really need to make sure I eat enough, often enough and don't get low on my Water. I'm so sorry you and your hubby are not doing so well. :-( That makes me so sad. Would he/you be open to counseling? I am so thankful for the man I'm marrying!! He is my rock, for sure. I'm in nursing school and he has pretty much taken on all my "duties" at home, LOL. He "makes" me go sit down and study while he makes dinner, does laundry, etc. Plus, we work together, so while I'm at school, he does my stuff at work too. He's truly a gem. And I wish everyone was as blessed as I am. ♥ On that note---I'd better get off my behind and do something!!

Hey there!! I'm doing pretty good. I'm starting to worry just a little bit....I was at 146 for over a year---and then I decided to try this 21 day fix program to increase my activity and make sure I was eating the right portions. I gained 3 pounds! I realize it was some muscle weight, but it's like it messed with my head!? And now I've creeped up to 151. I know they say there's the 18-24 month "honeymoon" period with this surgery, but it TERRIFIES me that I will gain. There are some things that I've gotten slack on, so I need to just pull up my big girl panties and address these things. I've also been EXTREMELY lazy in the workouts!! During that 21 day fix, I got up at 5:40 every morning and worked out, felt great, had a ton of energy---my body responded great, I could see a difference in toning, etc. Then...once that 21 days were up, I pretty much quit exercising again. UGH! I'm working full time and going to college (taking 5 classes this semester) raising kids.....so I know I'm busy--but if I could get up at 5:40 for 21 days straight, why don't I continue to do that?! I just got a letter from my surgeon and I need to get my labs done and schedule my 2 year check up. I just really wanted to get back down to 145-146 before I went, LOL.... (not that 151 is a "bad" number, but the fact I literally stayed the same weight for over a year and now it's creeping up!?) Anyway--how is everyone else doing?!!
-
@layknee--Nice to "see" you! Sorry about all of the surgeries. :-( I finally just figured out after a trip to the ER Monday night that I am now hypoglycemic!? Really??!! I'd had several "episodes" and of course after researching on the internet, I figured that's what it was. I had asked my family Dr. about it about a month ago and all she said was, "Well, if it happens again and you happen to have a glucose monitor handy, you could check your blood sugar level and see what it is. That would indicate for sure what it is..." Yeah, thanks--cuz I just happen to have a glucose monitor handy! All the times it had happened, up until Monday night... I was able to eat something quickly (sugar/carb/protein) but I after 45 minutes Monday night I still wasn't coming out of it and my whole body was shaking uncontrollably, so we headed to the ER. And OF COURSE by the time we get there, I'm coming out of it...and by the time the nurse came in, Dr. came in....then they got a glucose monitor---I was in normal range by then, LOL! Brett sat there at 12:30AM on his phone ordering a glucose monitor on amazon. But the Dr. did diagnose it with me telling him symptoms, etc... Not really anything you can do about it, other than make sure I eat enough, frequently enough. And I'll have some glucose tablets on me now. :-) So anyway--I'm still hanging out at about 147-149. I've been really upping my exercising this last couple months and can really see a difference in getting more toned. My arms are still a bit jiggly, but getting better. :-) I know once my Fall classes start, I'm going to be exhausted and won't be able to work out as much, so trying to get as much in now as I can! Better get back to work I suppose....talk to you all later!!

@PinkPolkadot619 Thank you!!! :-)

Here's one more with my 4 kids. :-)

Hopefully these pictures post correctly!! I usually do it from my phone....

Hey Beni! Glad to see you're doing well! Looks to me like you're at a really good spot! :-) I am right with you. I've tried a mini blizzard ice cream treat and can eat just about 1/2 of it. THat's my limit, otherwise I get sick. I'm more inclined to just take 1 or 2 bites of one of my kids' ice cream treats and that seems to hit the spot well. So my honey wanted to try this 21 Day Fix workout/ meal plan along with a Protein shake deal. (Shakeology) I love it, I've really toned up a lot of my loose skin in the 21 days. HOWEVER....get this: From last August/ September until 1 week before we started this program, I weighed 146. Only swayed up or down maybe .5-.8 of a pound THAT WHOLE TIME!! THEN: one week before we started this, I gain 3 pounds?! WTH?? AND....I haven't lost that 3 pounds in this whole 21 days. I do KNOW I've gained muscle, so I get muscle weighs more than fat. But geeesshhh! I stay at the same weight for 10 months and then gain 3 off the fly?! I don't get it. It's almost like it's a mind game... So today I'm just going to eat when I'm hungry....keep working out...and stay off the dang scale for a while. Physically I fee good, so there is that.... :-) My FITBIT keeps telling me I'm not eating enough in comparison to my working out--but I honestly can't really eat much more than I am. Still focusing on protein, protein, protein...and I do LOVE the shakes, they're great overall for me. So I'll continue those too. (Just not as a meal) So anyway---we finally set a wedding date!! May 20th, 2017. Honeymoon in Maui. :-) Just a small wedding, about 80 people, all family. No need to spend $ on a huge wedding this time around. I'd rather spend it on the honeymoon! :-) Brett's daughter got married a couple weeks ago too, so that was super exciting!! I'll have to see if I can post a picture. We had such a blast and I feel awesome in my dress too. :-) Ok, I'd better get some work done I suppose!! :-) Hope everyone is doing well!!

Hey there! I'm doing well....I've been at 145-148 for several months now. I'm happy at the number though. I definitely have lost a lot of muscle though. I need to be working out, it just hasn't been a priority. With warmer weather coming, it will be easier though. I have a lot of jiggly stuff going on, LOL! We went on a cruise last week! It was nice, but a lot of food, I had a glass of wine each day as well. I was glad I was able to enjoy a little and not get sick actually. I didn't over do it, and we did ALOT of walking. I didn't gain/ lose anything during the cruise, so I was alright with that! I'm going to try and post a current picture...let's see if I can get this to work.

Update on me: I'm maintaining at 145. I'm happy there. I'm happy being in a size 7/8 too! I did gain a couple pounds over the holiday, but lost that once I got rid of all that junk laying around home/work! My main goals right now are to get back into a workout routine to tone my body up. I've let "life" halt my workouts. I honestly don't know how I can squeeze in a workout into my schedule right now. I'm trying not to make excuses, but it's just so insane right now.... My poor tush, which has always been HUGE, is gone....and like, "fallen?!" Poor saggy butt... I know working out will tone up some of that sagginess, I just need to find time. Right now we have 1 son in basketball, so 2 games a week. (typically Tuesdays and Fridays) Another son in wrestling, so 2 meets a week. (Thursday and Saturdays) I have class all day Mondays and Wednesdays. Wednesdays I don't get home until 7pm. And then of course working whenever I'm not at class. So Monday evening is usually open, and Sunday...(after church and grocery shopping) This last Saturday I did homework/studying from 3pm-10pm....then yesterday, I did 2 more hours of homework/studying. No class today because of Martin Luther Kind Day...so working all day today. My dear sweet fiancé did laundry all evening last night for me (he does this often!) and got supper on the table. LOVE HIM! He told me last night he knows "our time" will be limited. We'll make it quality time instead of quantity! He said he fully supports me and whatever he needs to do to help me, he's willing to do. Excitement for me: We leave on Feb 26th for a 7 day cruise with some friends! I cannot wait!!! I would have loved to be more toned by then, but it's just not gonna happen! Temps here the last several days are about -29 with the wind chill. About -8 without wind chill. SO flipping cold!! I need some warm sun!! And Vitamin D! Ok, I'd better get some work done!! I've been meaning to check in for a while now!!

I don't seem to have this problem. I'm able to eat more at a meal than I used to, which concerns me. Do you journal your meals? Sometimes I try and journal ahead of time, plan out what I'm going to eat for the day...then be sure I've either packed those things for the day, or if I'm at home, have them on hand and handy so I don't veer off the plan. :-) I do see this happen often when we eat out. I'll end up eating too fast,(because I'm chatting with everyone and don't pay attention to chewing..) and maybe get in 1/3 of my meal and have to stop eating. Then...like you, an hour later I'm ready to eat again. Something we'll probably always have to work on, eating slowly.

@Bronxmerci--So sorry for your loss. You do look amazing girl!! You must not have a lot of extra skin? You sure don't look like it from your pictures! I don't have a lot, but more than I'd like!! Maybe that's the difference between 25 year skin and 43 year old skin, Haha! :-) So you're a teacher? That's awesome. Your son is so adorable, and getting so big!!

Nice job Beni!! I had my Subway flatbread for breakfast Was on the run for lunch time--so I grabbed Noodles & Company 420 calories, but I ate about 3/4 of it, so not quite the whole 420... Raw carrots for snack dinner will be on the run also...wrestling meet tonight. People have told me my face is too thin, but I think it's alright. I do feel like the dark circles under my eyes are worse than they used to be. But I am prone to them anyway. :-( My biggest "too skinny" issue is my dang armpits! It's SO flipping hard to shave them now! they're too deep or something. Does that make sense to anyone? LOL...so silly. I need to do some major rear end lifting exercises too, wowzers. I'm like you though....hate to be picky, but.....

Counseling REALLY helps me!! I am definitely a self sabotage! But I've gotten SO much better with counseling. We have all come SO far. I just love you all and all of the support here. I know we can do this friends! I have not worked out in over a month! I am making a promise to you all that I will get back at it. I seem to have lots of excuses, and some truly are legit. I started college (on break now), work full time, and our 2 15 year old boys are in wrestling and basketball, so most evenings are FULL with games/ meets and homework. Jan. 11th I start classes again, and I'm taking one more than I did last semester. But I know I need to be doing "something." I will have an hour between a couple classes this next semester and I have free access to an amazing gym at school, so I plan on at least walking during that time! By the way, I got a 4.0 my first semester!! Yay!

@wildGoose--I say, yes--let yourself suffer. That's what I do, and it truly does deter me from eating whatever made me sick. It sucks, but it works! I'm able to drink some "higher end" beer. :-) No wine, or anything fruity. But I do get tipsy quickly.....although it also doesn't last long, LOL.
