Auri--That is something good to mention. The Water weight gain. My friend came home from the hospital and didn't lose anything for a while--she was big time depressed, regretting having the surgery done. But once she started losing, she lost great. 99 pounds total I believe! We can't focus on that darn scale for a while!!

@kimodell69---Surgery is the 20th at 7AM!! When is yours?
-
Yay Beni!!!!!!!! Whoohooooo!!!!! Doing the happy dance for you!!!
-
@kimodell69--I'm feeling that same way today!! I don't know what it is--but I'm making lists of food I need to buy (for my family) and stuff I'll need....and lists of what I want to get done before surgery. It truly is like nesting while pregnant. And I am SO flipping excited and anxious about the surgery--like you, I feel like either laughing or crying or screaming or all of the above!!
-
Oh---note my 5 pound loss since Monday. Seriously my scale has literally NOT GONE DOWN in over a year!! I really this liquid diet process is extreme, but I was doing quite the happy dance in the bathroom when I saw it going down!!

Oh wow--I should have stayed up later last night to join in on the hilarious conversation!!!! Love it--LOVE this group!!! Thank you so much to those who have had their surgery, telling us all the little tid bits that will help us who are yet to go under the knife!! Beni--You're such a hoot girl! You need to put some pics on here though, so I can put a face to your beaming personality!! I used a CPAP also back before I had my lap band and I tell ya----it was the BEST thing to get rid of!! I used melatonin (and still do) to help sleep through the uncomfortableness (my made up word) of the stupid thing. I just recently started snoring again, and according to a recent sleep study, I only have mild apnea now, which didn't require the CPAP. YAY!!! Ok---I'd better go get some work done. Welcome back all of you gals who've had your surgeries! I hope everyone's pain get under control who needs that! (sorry, I can't remember names..) Day 4 of liquids....I've got this.
-
Ugh Beni....that's a long day with not even a sip of water!!
-
I had a hiatal hernia repaired when I had my lap band surgery back in 2008 and honestly, it felt SO much better after surgery. I had a anti-nausea patch with one of my surgeries, it was AMAZING! they had tried 3 different meds and none worked, except the patch. They put it behind your ear. Hopefully you won't have bad withdraw from the diet cokes! I've only had 1 headache and I was drinking 2-4 cups of coffee a day. I'm drinking decaf now.
-
@AuriP--glad you popped in! I was wondering how you were doing. Are you still on pain meds? The nausea can be from that maybe? I'm sure it'll get better. Don't listen to those horror stories. Focus on how good you're going to look girl!! Day 3 of liquids done. Only 11 more to go! Tonight the rest of the family had tatertot casserole. Oh wow, that was a hard one!! I didn't take a bite though! If I give in once, I'll keep giving in, so it's not even a choice for me. Got in 144oz of fluid--and 970 calories.
-
Oh no--that darn gas! I had a friend who said to get the gas x strips that dissolve in your mouth. I might grab some of those. Glad they got the bad reaction under control with Benadryl. Oh goodness! You'll be glad to get home I'm sure!!
-
@dc0520--You're looking great!! Good job on your walking, whoohoo!! I bet it'll be good to get home. :-)
-
@Alumace--Good idea to download some movies! I should do that. Hospital TV is usually pretty minimal. Congrats on your surgery date!! I'm the 20th. Karen--Welcome back! So glad to hear you're doing so well! and off pain meds, whoohoo!!! Are you still on a liquid diet then?
-
Whoohoo!! Good job!! Dang it, I keep forgetting to charge my fitbit up so I can be counting steps! I'll have to put a reminder in my phone or something, LOL. We went on about a 2 mile walk last night, felt great!! You've lost a lot already, way to go!!
-
@Jyoyonomore--Yep, same here. 7 days before, no ibuprofen. Luckily I haven't had another one. Hopefully I won't in the next week and a half. Wowzers, it was a nasty one!
-
Day 2 on liquids went well. Again, low on calories tonight, so I'll enjoy some regular Jello before bed. Over 130oz of liquid in and 952 calories. Not sick of any "food" yet. But...it's only day 2, LOL.
-
Day 2 So true! I doubt I'll be able to sleep anyway!! :-)
-
I had PPD too. It was horrible. Hopefully we won't have issues with Vitamins. That and hair loss are really a worry of mine. I'll be sure to do everything my Dr. says to minimize any kind of complications for sure!
-
Good luck!! My surgery is at 7AM! Which means I probalbly have to be at the hospital at 5am. SOOOO early!! :-)
-
@dc0520 Sorry you're in so much pain. Hope they can make sure you're comfortable!
-
I've "eatin/drank" 104oz already today. OIY, so many trips to the potty!! 64 of those are actual water. Tummy is growling right now, so I'm off to have a 100% juice popsicle.

Good read Beni! This is what my Dr. Recommends for Iron: Iron – For menstruating women or persons with anemia - take an additional 30 mg elemental Iron daily. Look for a chewable brand containing ferrous fumarate or ferrous gluconate. These are better absorbed and cause less stomach distress than ferrous sulfate. Do not take iron within 2 hours of taking calcium supplements. Calcium decreases iron absorption. However, I could not find that kind of iron in a store here, so I just ordered it online. It's especially for bariatric patients.

I'm finding myself obsessing also. It's all I can think about.... I did have a few of my favorite foods before I started my liquid diet. Like Chinese, Sushi, tacos, juicy cheeseburger, LOL! I did remember one thing I really wish I would have eaten though. Apple Crisp, I'm guessing with it being a sweet, sugary dessert, I won't be able to eat it at all after surgery. Oh well. Guess I won't die with not having it again! :-)
-
You'll do great!!! Can't wait to hear back from you!!!
-
Thoughts and prayers coming your way!! Planning ahead and exercising are my downfalls, but I know these two things are very necessary!! Something I know I will be working on!! So glad you have a friend to help you out close to you. I have several friends and family members that have had the surgery, so I have a great support also. :-)

Jyoyonomore--This is just day 2 of 14! :-)
