Any complications?? The reason I ask is that at my pre-op appointment today, my surgeon spend an hour with me making sure I was aware of the complications having the revision done. Now, mine is a little different because I had the band out last Dec. That's his concern...that the stomach tissue has been "messed with" twice now...and this would be a third. He said I'd most likely have to have a feeding tube in place for 2 weeks to make sure that tissue heals very good before food/ liquid is introduced to it. I'd also most likely have 2-3 drains, to prevent any infections. He is willing to still do the surgery---but he is suggesting I possibly consider the sleeve instead. I have to call them Friday AM and give them my final decision. I asked him, " What about if I say the bypass, but if you get in there and see that's it's not a safe option (in regards to the stomach tissue) you go ahead and do the sleeve?" He said he doesn't like to go down that road because if he's biased towards the sleeve and then does the sleeve---I could be pissed and say,"You only did the sleeve because that's what you wanted, not what I wanted." *sigh* I was NOT expecting this today!!!

I didn't buy the low sodium kind. But I think either option would be fine.

Auri--Remind me, did you have the revision done? From Band to Bypass? I know someone on here did...

Having my pre-op lesson right now. Well, I should say just had it, now waiting for some labs to be done. OMG! I have to also do the bowel prep! And my drain will be in for 7 days. Catheter for 24 hours. And I have to be at the hospital at 4:45 am. oh my..

Welcome all the new ladies to the group!! Beni has a spreadsheet of when everyone is having surgery and gives us a daily update. Who's next Beni? I just finished up day 9 on my liquid diet. I filled out my food journal through Sunday night. I've pretty much had the same exact thing (with popsicles and Jello varying each day, lol) every day! I have a real hard time getting in all 1000 calories, which is just crazy to me! But getting in a lot of Protein, so it keeps my full. I had an amazing massage tonight. Aahhhhhhh. I need to see if I can sneak in a pedicure before Monday!! Tomorrow morning at 8AM is my pre-op consultation appointment, then I see my surgeon at 9:30. Getting closer!!

Oh! I forgot about the itchiness! I had that too at my last surgery. From the anesthesia, right?

Someone on this site mentioned GENEPRO Protein. It's tasteless and totally dissolves. I put it in broth. I can also have v-8 veggie juice, so I mix that and the protein with broth and it's like tomato Soup. The protein is 98 calories and 30grams of protein. Can't taste it at all!!

Yay!!! So glad everything went pretty good!! So did the meds they give you work for nausea then? I love that your surgeon played "Roar" for you!! Hopefully that darn gas works itself out soon! It sounds like from everyone that's had their surgery, we should expect the gas discomfort. Darn! Oh my gosh--your view is amazing!!

Good for you!!! That's what I did last night while my family ate taco pizza.

I just turned 42, we are NOT too old for one of those!! My 21 yr old daughter will be so jealous!

Mine called me the same day I got approved. It wouldn't hurt to call and just check. My pre-surgery appointment was booked about a week after that.

OR...when you start to lose weight and they say, "Wow, you're losing weight--your face is really skinny!!" Well, what about my ass??

Friends! Look what I did for my co-workers today! We don't have a Panera in our town and I was at a Dr. Appointment in a nearby town and offered to pick them all up lunch. Whew! That was a good test! I got unsweetened tea for myself.

I found your new post Beni! So my family had taco pizza tonight. I hid out in my bedroom and spent about an hour talking to my BFF on the phone. Left over pizza was still sitting in the kitchen when I came down. I had to get it out to the garbage right away!! Another favorite I didn't eat "before."

I can't wait to cross over here! :D Auri--My family had taco freaking pizza tonight!!! :angry: But you know what, we're going to look SO amazing very soon and we won't care about what foods we're missing out on!!

Oh no Smiley! You're going to be miserable. I don't have to do one either. Well, that's what a friend told me who had the sleeve done about 1 1/2 yrs ago. I asked her because back in 2008 when I had my lapband done, I did have to do what. Drink this thick, clear, nasty stuff--You'd think after I'd done Clear liquids for 2 weeks, I would have been cleaned out! Guess not! But my friend said they're not making us do those anymore. I'll know 100% on Wednesday when I go for my pre-surgery appointment. My pre-op physical was so stupid. I had to see a Dr. I've never seen before. All he did was listen to my heart/ lungs. That's it. He said he'd send an "all clear" note to my surgeon. Ok. Fine with me I guess. But what a wasted trip!

Oh, applesauce and pudding sounds amazing!! I'm getting ready to go to my pre-op physical. I'm so scared someone is going to say, "Nope, sorry...not gonna happen."

Karen--So glad you popped in! I was wondering how you were doing.21 pounds down?! That's awesome girl!!! Whoohoo!!! I wonder what's up with your enhanced smelling. I have not heard of that before. So at 2 weeks, what are you eating? How much are you able to eat at a time? Are you having a hard time getting in your Water to stay hydrated. I became dehydrated after my lap band surgery back in 2008. That was a horrible feeling. Got 2 bags of Fluid put in and felt like a new person.

Maybe if I turn the phone, lol. Sorry, I'll quit posting pics now! Heehee.
