I didn't go to dr. allam because i heard bad things, but my sister went to Dr. Mehta in Riverhead/patchogue (she has two offices). She was very happy. I went to Dr. Kazsmarski and Dr. Gabriel in smithtown and I am also very happy with them. If you having any questions about those doctors, just ask anytime.

Good luck with your diet. I think you will lose weight during this diet. I lost 9 pounds in one week doing this. You'll do just fine don't worry. Just stay focused. Food doesn't control you anymore. You control it.

Hello from Long Island, NY

Good Luck...I was banded recently. I'm from Long Island. What doctor are you seeing.? -
Approved but only for one surgeon to be in the room
mzanika03 replied to rmartone03's topic in Insurance & Financing
My surgeon had his partner who is the director of the bariatics department as his assistant during the surgery. When I asked why (pre-surgery), he said it's common practice for them to assist each other. It was very comforting to me, because both doctors came to see how I was the day after surgery (at different time of the day- one morning and one afternoon.) And my surgeon is very skilled. He has been doing it for over 20 year with over 1800 surgeries performed. So, just ask your surgeon all your questions...I'm sure their is a good explaination. -

I like doing arts and crafts and spending time with my nephew. I just began my weightloss journey. My surgery was 9/30...so I'm a newbie. I began my WLS at 250LBS and I hope to get down to atleast 140LBS. Thanks in advance to everyone for their support. You'll be seeing more of me....oh wait LESS of me. LOL:lol: -

Well, I'm going back to work tomorrow. I'm not to sure I'm ready to get back into the full swing of things, but I really don't have a choice. I was lucky to get the week off. I guess that's just how much they need me. lol. Anyway, I'm going prepared with Tylenol and heatpads for my back. I think I should be alright. Wish me luck.

Yes I am on full liquids. I really can't wait for soft food part of the diet. I have so many things in mind to eat. HA HA HA. My back still hurts, but I hope after the second week it will get better. I see my doctor on Wednesday, so I'll bring up the back pain issue and see what he says. Maybe it will shed some light on it for both of us.

Hey cyber world and banding friends. I'm now 4 days post op and can't wait to completely heal. I have gas that won't quit, but I have been making progress with that slowly. I still have an aggrevating gurgling in my stomach, but I think that will pass when I start making more bowel movements. I know....ewwwww sounds gross, but it's reality. Today I took my bandage off as my doctor had directed. I think the incision looks fantastic. I was really worried about scarring, but Dr. Kazcmarski and Dr. Gabriel did a great job. I'm back to work on Monday so wish me luck. I hope the back pain goes away too. Sleeping on my back is killing me.

I just added Apple Juice to my fluid diet and it helped me with the bowel movements.

We were banded on the same day....maybe we can keep in touch and get advice from each other, since we will be going through the same things

HELP! When can I sleep 'normal' again?
mzanika03 replied to Marcie1997's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I can completely identify with you because we were banded on the same day. Congratulations. I haven't sleep right either. I am sleeping in my bed though. I have about four pillow under my head and 2 under my back ...not to mention the ones on the side. I think the key po healing is movement. I have tried to walk alot around the house. Not to much though. (your body will tell you). My back is still killing me but it gets better each day. -
