Anyone know of Dr De Bruyne Chris
Eleonora replied to susanlondon's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
Hi, Thanks, I was hoping to be a bit lighter by now but I have just had my first fill so.... When I first contacted Dr Chris, he told me to check an e mail I would get from his team, to be honest, I thought I wasnt willing to pay people to drive me around, so I went on taking care of everything with Dr Chris. ( Im not saying the extra service provided is not good, but I didnt miss it at all) Im using the money I saved on my fills, I wasnt fat before so I have lots of great clothes I cant wait to start wearing again. If I can help with anything else... -

Hi, For those you have not booked anything yet I would like to say, you can arrange everything with Dr Chris like I did, no Tula no Fredrick... I payed 3400€. If you book the hotel yourself and call your own taxis, which is not hard, you will end up saving some good money. Aftercare after the surgery is not a problem either, you get dr Chris´s cell phone and you can call him like I did from the hotel if you are having problems. (He called me too and offered to pass by to check on me before my flight) best luck for everyone Ele -

Ladies, again I come to ask for your help- I had my surgery a bit over a month and I am not travelling to Belgium for my first fills. Hubby is not going with me this time, and I am a bit nervous. What happens during the fills? Some of you were kind enough to post here all the surgery details, even the fact that we could keep our underwear  and that helped me a lot. I'm afraid of doctors, and specially of not knowing what is going to happen to me. Also, do we have to pay for the fills in cash too? Travelling alone with lots of cash scares me too... How much money should I take? thank you and good luck Ele -

Hi, Im glad everything is fine and you are back home, I was starving 3 days after surgery, and I thought that was strange and somethng was wrong. I asked Dr Chris and here is his answer, I hope it helps. In black my question in blue his answer) - I can eat a small bowl of Soup, with no problem, ( I dont feel full but my stomach feels a bit heavier, with 2,5 or 3 dls of light soup, eaten very slowly with a coffee spoon) but after 2 hours Im so starving I could eat the paper from the walls, (which I havent, yet) is this normal? yes because the postoperative oedeama is already gone. Maybe you need a quicker first fill. I afraid of eating too much and stretching my little stomach.... this is not possible all the best  Ele -

I think something is wrong with me. I was banded 3 weeks ago and Im only 4 kilos down. I see you all losing pound after pound and I dont. I eat solid food, but Im sure I dont over eat, and I dont eat fat or sweet things. I have never thrown up so I dont think Im doing anything wrong. Anyone else with the same problem? Thank you for helping. Ele -

Hi, I was banded 2 weeks ago and I have some doubts, maybe those of you with more experience can help me out. I started eating some fish in my Soup, and other soft solid food. Sometimes I swallow too fast ans it hurts awfully on my back. Is this normal? I'm very afraid of stretching my small stomach, Dr Chris told me I just couldn't do it, but I read here that it sometimes happens. Do the bands Dr Chris use help prevent the band from moving? My tummy is still very swollen and hard, I can feel the port under my skin, will it always be like this? How much do you eat? I can have 3 dls of soup with no problem or pain. thank you everyone. And good luck for those travelling to Belgium soon. Im sure you wont regret it. I hate doctors and hospitals and I was so afraid I cried my eyes out the day before surgery. In the end I had nothing to be afraid of, everyone is so nice and sweet the only thing I regret is not having had the courage to do this sooner. -

I am not worried about this at all. The only reason I decided to have surgery in Belgium and not here was because I do not feel like waiting for 2 years using the public health system. I was informed about all the risks, in a private meeting with Dr Chris, I did not pay a cent above the surgery cost. During the time I was in Belgium Dr Chris was very careful checking on how I was feeling, he called me 2 days after surgery to be sure everything was fine and kindly offered to visit me at my hotel before me flying home. It amazes me that, with all the information we get, people can get to the point when they cant swallow water! We are told 100 times to drink and contact a doctor imedialty if we cant swallow anymore, and this woman does nothing till she cant swallow her own saliva? We are adults here, this is an alarmist and unfair article. -

Hi, I'm back from Brussels, everything you have been posting here is true. Dr Chris is very nice and all the staff at the clinic is the best I have ever met, we couldn't ask sweeter nurses. I have some doubts, maybe some of you with more experience can help me out: - for how long did you use the socks? - did anyone have problems with the stitches? - how much do you really eat during your liquid period? ( I read all the information we get but I'm a bit confused....do we still have 3 meals or are we supposed to just keep sipping liquids all day? Can we have jello and pureed fruit and soup?) thank you all so much and best of luck for everyone. Ele -
