I'm a realizebander! I was banded 12/08. I have done really well. I have had two fills. I really am due for another one. I have lost a total of 81 pounds. (counting pre diet) I am sooooo glad that I was banded. I feel sooo much better. More energy and all. It has been a psychological roller coaster though. The people that you think will support you don't always. And people that you never dreamed would, do. Strangers comment on how good I look. But never, never my husband. Not sure what gives. Any one else have this problem?

Glad all is going well with you. I'll keep prayin for you. I am having surgery in a few hours. It is encouraging to read thru all the posts. We are all in this together. right? I guess it's like childbirth, you have to experience it to understand it. May you continue to do well!

Hi, Pleased to meet you. I am on the MO AR border. I will be banded by Dr Gibbs on 12/10 in Little Rock. A little nervous but soooooo ready. :thumbup:

:confused:I checked into using a facility close to home only to find that the Dr was in my network. But the facility wasn't. When I called the facility and asked if they took my insurance I was told "sure, we work with them all the time" Then my insurance rep called and said that the facility that I wanted to use charges $68K for an over night stay not counting the Dr fees. I couldn't believe it so I called the facility back. Sure enough, $68K for the facility $22K for the Dr fee, Since I had insurance. But get this, only $17,500 if I paid cash. Let's see my Momma didn't raise me a fool. 25% of $68K would be .,.,. let's see ..... About the cash price .. But then you have the 25% of the Dr fees. What a racket!!!! Be careful & ask lots of questions and then ask again. If my insurance co hadn't of protected me I would be bankrupt..You don't find out the large fee until after the surgery thinking it would be one amount and then it is another. Buyer Beware!!

Hello, I see that you are from MO. Me too. I also will be banded in Dec. The 10th. I am sooooo excited. A little worried. We have a large family and I have to start pre op diet just before Thanksgiving. It will be difficult but not impossible. Do the protein drinks come in egg nog flavor? Guess we will have to figure out how to pull that one off. I'm excited. I feel like I found a friend.

Hello, guess we'll be holiday buddies. My surgery date is set for Dec 10th. I am soooo excited. Have you discovered that you find out who your real friends are? Some are already jelous and I haven't even had surgery. I really wish I would've just kept it to my self. Good luck! You are not alone!!!!!!!!

So Did you use Dr Gibbs? How have things gone for you ?

Hello, Just wanted to introduce myself. I have been approved by insurance but I live in Hicksville and am awaiting an agreement between the hospital and Insurance. Just waiting.
