chunky chick replied to Perfect Ten's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
just want to say i had my band fitted in nottingham with the hospital group and everything was brilliant and i received very good treatment and after care the only pain is going to bromsgrove for the fills but it has been worth it i have had 7 fills and have 8.25ml in a 10ml band and have lost 60lbs in just over a year FANTASTIC am so happy with the experiance. At one point it was a little too full i rang bromsgrove and i had an appointment that day for the next morning and they were very understanding and the care was excellent. -
hi Nataflee have just read your bit about your dr and the problems that you are having you say that you were gonna take another look at the hospital group but had heard not too good things about them. I had my band fitted at the hospital group in july 2007 and they have been brilliant i know that its 7500 pounds but i couldnt of had better care the op has been sucessful and i have lost 60lbs (just over 4 stone) in a year and am now the lightest i have been in ten years. Befor my op i had heard some pretty grim things about the hospital group so was a little nervous but i needn't have been so have another look and ask all the questions and bug them for the answers or you can contact me. hope all goes well chunky:smile2:

hi I had the same problem with my g.p and had exhausted all avenues all the nasty pills that make you poop and send you on a high etc and in the end i was told to eat less well if i could do that on my own i wouldnt of had a problem. so last year hubby and i decided to remortgage the house not an easy decision and not an option that we all have i know but it was made and i went private and it was the best thing i have ever done 60lbs in a year i have lost and although its gonna take me 9 years to pay for it it has been worth it every penny i just wish like you that the nhs took into consideration the affect that being severly over weight has on your life and take it seriously, unfortunatly the general public make out that having a band is the easy option but its not its just a tool to stop you over eating, binging, comfort eating etc as i still comfort eat but after a mouth full your stuffed. We all have bad days even with a band. So just hang in there it will all be worth it. sorry for waffling on its just that i love my band his my best mate:smile2:
