I have been away for a few days. I fell of the wagon last week and did nothing. I should have ran then knowing I was going to have foot surgury this week. I am not suppose to doing any walking or running these next two weeks blah, blah. So I going to try and do the weight training during that time. I saw my Doctor today and told him the little successes I have been having and he said that he would run my first 5K with me. Needless to say I was surprised but that is just the way he is. I have finally started losing weight again and I credit that to the C25K and getting more protein in my deit. If I had not been reading this forum I don't know if I ever would have got kick started again. But I am on my way. WooHoo Kathy, way to go I love your pictures. Look forward to that being me in the future. Carol, at least something look came out of your bad experience. Suzanne, sorry to hear your feet are still paining you. Love you all, and thanks for being here. Mary

Well my husband is now running with me. He had been pushing me when I want to slow down. I got in 3 1/2 90 sec runs in my session today. I actually got through the first two with no problems. Not so much the last one. The backs of my thighs were tightening up so much I had to stop a couple times to stretch. I need to start warming up before I go out. It was tiring but it felt good getting it done and knowing I am that much further towards my goal.

You guys are such an insperation. I thought I was doing great because I was able to get through 2 run sequences of the 8 run sequence of the 1st wk. Now I feel really lame. But like I told my husband it is a step up from my sedentary lifestyle that I had before. I am suppose to see my doctor on 9/29 and I want to have made some progress in the weight department before I have to go back and see him. Thank you guys for putting your encouraging words and progress out there.

Well I am redoing week 1 again. I am going to keep doing it until I can get thru the whole workout like it is suppose to be done. This may not be the way it is to be done but at least I am out there shaking my tail. I sit all day so running is a stretch for me especially when I have never run before. I have lost 3 lbs so far and I have been really lazy at it, in my opinion. Like was said earlier in this thread I have been trying to weight lift on the off days. If I lose a few lbs at a time I am doing better than I was doing before.

I just finished my first day of the C25K. I thought it was going to kill me but I made it through. I am not a runner so this was a real challenge. I thought I could do it since it is interval training. I think it is going to take me a little longer on the first week so I can get up to running every time you are suppose to run. I have to do this. I am past my anniversary and havn't kept off the first 10 lbs. I was never a big eater so my eating habits havn't changed just what I eat. The Dr says I really need to get into some sweating exercise. The exercise I was doing before was to casual (his words) it did't feel that way. Well I am doing the sweating now. I have got to keep this up to get where I want to be. Any suggestions?

I am new at this. I do walk but never run unless it is after my grandchildren. But I need to start losing weight so I thought I would try this. I like the idea of walking and running for a short period of time then building up. I hope I can keep it up. No, I am going to keep it up. I have read alot of these posts and they are so encouraging. Well off I go.

:smile2:I had not heard about anyone else having gastrophoresis except my daughter when she was 18. She does not have diabetes has never had it. They kept asking us if we had diabetes in our family but we do not at her age. Now she has to watch her weight very carefully. She got it from taking narcotics for headaches when she was younger. When she has to she take Reglan as you have already been told helps. But she cannot take it all the time because it causes other complications. But she was able to take it when she was pregnant because it does not effect the fetus. She does have to be very careful with what she eats but not have to stick to soft foods. I guess everyone has different triggers. She has to avoid alot of greasy food. I don't know if this helps I just thought it was interesting to find someone else with gastrophoresis.

Well I am getting my walking in. I walked 30 min at lunch and 30 min after I cooked dinner for my family. I am going to try and keep it up. I need to try to make some sort of schedule I can keep to. I have to make some kind of change to get a change.

Thanks I'll try that. I have been wondering if I need to do that, but the doctor said he didn't want me to have to go back to that.

I am so frustrated. I am at my max as far as fills. It took me nine months to get there with very little weight loss. I just went and looked at what I weighed when I had my surgery and I have only lost 8 lbs in a year. I just recently started getting the sensation of things getting stuck. I know I probably have not exercised like I am suppose to. But I need some advice. My doctor just says don't eat anything soft or liquid and don't drink during meals. I do all that and nothing. Waah waah:confused:

I didnt have any trouble having Tricare covering mine. I did have a high BMI, but there is a seperate criteria if you have high blood pressure and or diabeties. Which I have both of them. I had mine done in Aug and they paid for everything. I had mine done at UNC Chapel Hill and they were wonderful.
