when you say eggs, beans, white fish etc, are you having them in puree form ? I am given paperwork that says until 2 months post op , its puree only , no solids. Is your paperwork the same? I miss sausage rolls, and no I do know that they are made in hell, but I miss savory. -

oh, and watch out for the UK catering teams, they dont care that you have had a sleeve and will offer you the wrong food. make sure post op that you have water and milk until your are ready to make valid choices for yourself. -

Gastric Sleeve, with a hernia fixed while he was in there, as I seemed to have climbed into my own oesophagus the hernia fix means that I have more to repair and a VERY small food pipe. When I woke up - the pain cleared up relatively fast and honestly - it wont hurt after that - you have made the right choice. By the end of the day, you will feel better and ready to start seeing your scales again without fear. -

I had mine 2 weeks ago tomorrow. Trying to adjust in a world that throws TV adverts for food at you non stop. -

Regarding the preop diet and dizziness, yeah , its your liver kicking in , good stuff, persevere. Ive been forcibly reminded that post op , I need to stay on liquids only for a whole month, so back on milk and broth for me Each of us seems to have a different answer to that issue depending on who is helping us. Regarding liquids post op, try adding some lemon to the water (in the UK , Robinsons zero cal Lemon cordial) it really helped me. -

Phew - had it Thursday, only a 12 hour wait on the ward (first in , last operated on ). The NHS is clearly still overloaded in the UK, but still , it went well and a hernia was stitched Im told too , so thats good even if I am slower on the recovery now. I was home the next day (another 12 hour wait for my bag of drugs, glad Im an avid reader). I have strange pains in my left wrist which was a surprise - normally alleviated by raising my wrist or a heat pack. Fading today, so CO2 or canula related I guess. I am still on water , coffee, and actimel drinks, will try puree on monday. No hunger - instead a hard belly and only some grumbles in my head when my kids eat crisps beside me. For people to go through it - dont be a fool like me and try and pull 27 stone up into the standing position without going slow and careful . And dont dwell on what happens when you wake up , its not long and its over fast. -
Thank you

I have 8 days to go until my GS and am beginning to really struggle with headaches, tension, dizzyness and flushes. I have called the NHS hospital that I going to's bariatric ward, but no response to my message... I am really finding 2 litres of milk a day + 1 litre of water (coffee!) hard. I never drank much before and this is a quantum shift for me, never mind the grumbly tummy

Im a 51 year old, 183 kg male and have an op on the 29th. I do hope this helps me , as all I can see at the minute is a growing hate for milk and worries about how I will eat during the recovery phases. Also worried as my NHS trust in the UK is in the headlines for being overwhelmed..
