After being heavy nearly all my life, I thought it was about time I took drastic measures to ensure that I was going to be available to my children. I never had energy to do anything. Then started the blood pressure and cholesterol issues. We moved to Isarel to help with my husbands family. Being unfamiliar with this country, the people or anything else for that matter, all I did was eat, eat and eat some more. My son took a picture of me one day and I saw it and thought "no way is that me". That is the day I decided to go to the doctor. She sent me to talk to the surgeon, he said I would be a great candidate......within 3 months I was being wheeled into surgery. It was something that was really needed and wanted. Recovery was painfree, except for the ride home, 3 hours over bumpy roads....ouch. I exercised, and watched what I ate....most of the time, and now am below what my goal was.....18 months later. I couldn't be happier with my decision, surgeon, and band. Even though it was a scary thought, I am soooo thankful that I went a head with it. Now I am looking forward to plastic surgery to tighten things up a bit.
