    baltimore area?

Lilith, I did a lot of research and Hopkins seemed like a good program. My PCP recommended them or Sinai and I had a two friends that have gone to Sinai for RNY with mixed results. The Dr.'s at Bayview have all been there for quite a while and it is a Center of Excellence so those things count. I would say trust your instincts. Good Luck! Let me know where you decide to go.

Anyone Start with a BMI of 50+?

Heath1840 - I do have diabetes, which is why my DR. would prefer me to go RNY, but insurance wise I should be OK with either. Good Luck!

I'm just curious - did you they give you a pretty hard time about choosing the band over RNY? Dr. Steele was pretty negative about me getting the band at 288. Congrats on the approval! I hope you get your date.

Thanks so much everyone!! I know the Dr. was just trying to be tough with me to give me realistic expectations, but it did throw me for a loop. I will definately check out the forum for high BMIer's. I really did just need a pep talk! Thanks again, Linda
