I am having a tuff time with the whole eating and drinking fluids at the same time any suggetions please. have not lossed weight since the 2 month of banding. lost 25lbs banded 4/1/09 -
I am supposed to get my first fill on may 5th but the doctor told me i should wait until i get back from vacation. I dont leave until may 16th and i was wondering if i should just ask him to give me a fill. He suggested i wait because of possible complications. Any suggestions????

Hello April bandsters, I have a date of April 1st for my surgery. The only issue that I am having is that I am going on vacation May 16th to Dominican Republic for a week and I was wondering if it is to soon to fly and what type of restrictions will I have with food and alcohol intake. Is 6 weeks enough rest time and will I be able to go into pool that soon with the incisions??? My Dr. said I can wait till after I got back from vacation but that would have set me back into the summer and I didnt think I can wait any longer. Any suggestions from anyone???? Did anyone swim 5 to 6 weeks after surgery? very confused. -

Awesome blog! It sounds like the band is really working for you. I am getting banded on April 1st if all goes to plan. I keep getting cold feet because its so close. All I keep saying to myself is that I will never be able to eat things that I love to eat and it keeps making me second quess the surgery. After reading your blog it puts things into perspective. -

Congratulations on getting your date. I also got the approval for the surgery today, I have been waiting so long for the approval now I am having second thoughts. Has anyone felt the same way when they waited so long. I was so into getting the surgery now they kind of put a damper on things???? -
Ok thanks for the response. I am still waiting to here from my Insurance co. They said its going to take any where from 30-90 days I am keeping my fingers crossed.

Hello, I am currently waiting for my insurance co. for authorization for my surgery date with Dr.Pucci. How did you like the way everything went with him and his staff, and what insurance did u have and how long did u have to wait

Anyone out there been banded in the New York area and has GHI insurance. I was wondering how long you had to wait until insurance gave the go ahead with the surgery after Doctor submitted file??

My Doctor tentively put me in his schedule for Jan. 28th but I havent heard anything back from my insurance. they told me it could take up to 90 days. I don't understand why this is such along process especially after I was required by the insurance co. to see a nutritionist for 6 months. -

I just finished with my 6th visit with the doctor that my insurance required before I could submit for my surgery approval. My Dr. sent in the preauthorization today and I got a tentative surgery date for January 28th. I am almost here. I have mixed feelings with the long term wait before the surgery approval. I think that it is good for the reason it give u time to think if you really want to go this route to lose weight. My negative outlook was that I gained weight from the first visit to the last. The holidays and all the football games and wings LOL. Hang in there it goes by very very fast. -

I wouldnt give up. Everyone has there ups and downs in life. Just get back on track and forget about the past. Start over like u just got banded and get the motivation to get to the gym. If you workout for 20 minutes a day its better than not at all. Pickup a health/exercise magazine. I find that it helps with motivation and new ideas for dieting and exercising

First thing is you need to figure out how much you want to spend. Alot of times people purchase gym equipment and it ends up becoming a clothing rack. You should look in the want ads or newpaper there is usally alot of items for sale and for a good price. -
I am currently on my way to get the lapband. I am going for my 5th visit with the Doctor. I am hoping to get banded in January. I was wondering what is the time frame until I would be able to eat solid foods and possibly consume a alcholic beverage, and no I am not a alcoholic. LOL
