    Why don't y'all see?

The people he hangs with and has hung with are not a right-wing conspiracy, those are facts. Put aside the connections some call more tenuous: Franklin Raines: Former Chairman and CEO of Fannie Mae, Franklin Raines was an adviser to Obama on mortgage and housing policy. Antonin Tony Rezko: Real-estate developer and broker Rezko has been convicted of wire and mail fraud, money laundering and bribery. Obama is a longtime associate of Rezko, and bought some property from him in 2006. Bill Ayers: Ayers was a member of the radical Weathermen organization in the 1960s and '70s. He and Obama have met on several occasions and were both on the board of directors of the Woods Fund of Chicago. What we DO know for sure was that he was a member of a church for 20 years led by a racist, America-hating, vile-spewing "pastor" who Obama said he could no sooner toss him aside than he could a member of his own family. Until it started affecting his run for office that is (if he really DID toss him aside). I don't know about y'all, but I have never EVER heard of a family being a member of a church for 20 years that did not espouse their own beliefs and views. That just doesn't happen. Then we have him with his "spread the wealth" comment. On tape he is caught stating that we need to become a more socialist nation than we already are. And when confronted about it, he defends this stance!! Why would anybody willingly and gladly go to the polls and vote for an America-hating socialist who acts as if this is a good thing? And if you are a white Obama voter, what will he do TO you? See here: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t7fi8STNlxM]YouTube - 1995 Obama Bizarre, Race Baiting Interview Found! HE MUST SAVE BLACKS SO HE CAN BE SAVED.[/ame] It's all out there in black and white, even barring the stuff some of y'all consider questionable and straw-grasping by the right.

    Blockage

I understand PBing, but what exactly is "slime production," or "sliming," as I have seen it mentioned?

And Texas. Don't forget Texas. Well, and California. I think California is like 75% illegals and legal Mexicans now. It's the Cross the Calitexizona Plan.

Openly Disgusting - Why Lose Weight?

I miss heels... as uncomfortable as they are even when you are normal size. But the fact that I can't wear those sexy shoes just bums me.
  5. I hope that works well for you. I just wanted NO input from anybody until I researched it myself and came to my own conclusion. By the time I told the few people I have, it was only to say I was getting it, not to ask for their advice. Even my mom doesn't know yet. Eventually I will tell her, but I just didn't want to confuse the issues with her input, good or bad.

Not if you've been hanging by them from trees other structures. Have you? Sorry, I just hadda.
  7. Maybe you can find out exactly WHY he's against it. If it's simply that he thinks you can lose like he did, to me, that's not a good enough reason. If that's all he has, I say do what you need to do. A BMI of 50 is nothing to mess around with -- and at 23! Omg, you have your whole life before you. I know it's too late for you, but hubby was the last of the three people I told. I wasn't sure what his reaction would be, and frankly, I wanted to choose to do it -- or not do it -- based on my own research and not due to anybody else's input on how THEY felt about it. Maybe he has other fears he's not communicating or doesn't know how to relate to you. I would offer him the chance to think it over and write them down if he can't come up with anything right off the bat. But if all his reasoning is, "Hey, I did it, so can you," frankly that's not good enough. And it's really not his decision to make.

    Just got Banded

I too was banded a few days ago, on teh 21st. Yesterday was pretty sore (even moreso than Saturday when I came home), but today was a lot better. I got no gas in the shoulder like so many have. I have at times had a gas bubble in my "breadbasket" area between the breasts, but other than that it's been fine. I haven't taken my bandages off yet to see how everything looks. Figure I'll take a shower tomorrow (I know, yuck, right? No shower since Friday). And it is hard to see all this food at the holidays, though for me it was harder during my week-long pre-op liquid diet. So far I haven't really been "hungry" in the traditional sense. I have had some short glimpses of head hunger -- like I SHOULD be hungry or that looks/smells good -- but once I take in a cup of Soup, I'm satiated. And I've been drinking a lot of Water. I can't tell how much I had at the hospital, but yesterday I took in 6 cups (plus tea, but I'm not counting that), and today I made the full 8 cup minimum. I hope all goes well for you. Remember that you'll get out of it what you put into it. We have to take control over food, not vice versa. Otherwise we will still be people who overeat -- just with a band on.

From what I can tell, no bruising yet. Then again, I haven't taken the bandages off yet. Yep, not shower since Friday. YUK! I'll take one tomorrow and see how everything looks.

Thank GAWD!! Whew, that took a lot of pressure off my shoulders. I mean, I don't always do so well when expectations are placed on me. Hell, I can hardly follow the rules in everyday life.

Hell, I wish EVERYBODY on those threads during the election were on vicodin!! I hate politics when things are good. But hey, I left them when the election ended, just like I said. And I won't tell anybody that you're rubbin' elbows with a conservative. I've got yer back. Don't want you humiliated in front of yer peeps. :cursing: :w00t:

Openly Disgusting - Why Lose Weight?

*takes deep breath and plunges in* 1. To be able to see certain body parts (no real reason, just cuz) without needing a mirror. 2. Wiping. Yeah, that one's a good one. I wasn't to the point where I couldn't reach, but I could see that happening... 3. Showering with my hubby again. 4. Sweating. Can anybody say butt-crack sweats when you get up from the pleather salon chair after getting your hair cut? Or any chair that shows sweat, for that matter... 5. Getting up from the couch in one graceful movement rather than moving and heaving and moving again and getting a rolling start. 6. Not getting winded after two minutes of lovemaking. 'Course that means I'll have to re-train the hubby, but hey... lol

Didn't you know? They have a built-in sensor that lets it know when the last payment was made. Then they go pfffftttt. That vicodin's not lookin' so bad about now, eh?

Some people don't rebound from the anesthesia very quickly. It's probably what you're experiencing, along with fatigue from probably not eating much. I was banded the 21st. I came home about 9pm on the 22nd, and almost all I did yesterday was sleep. And I was VERY sore. Then again, I barely slept a wink in the more than 24 hours I was at the hospital, but realize everybody recovers differently just like everybody loses differently.

YAAAY Froggi! Excited yet? You may have mentioned, but I don't remember -- what time is your surgery?
  21. Mine's under one of these five bandages somewhere. I'm not even sure which one it is yet.
  22. Oooh, I get to play now! Surgery date: 11/21/08 Highest known weight (before surgery): 289 Height: 5'7" Weight at time of surgery: 279.5 Goal weight: 140 Is that it?

I've joined the band too! Just got home about two hours ago (stayed overnight), and I'm on oxycodone right now. Didn't sleep at ALL last night and had numerous issues with the hospital that had nothing to do with my operation. Docs said my liver was fantastic, and everything went well. I was scheduled for 2:30 but they didn't wheel me out until 3:00. Hubby got beeped at 4:30 to meet with the doctors, and by the time they woke me up in the operating room to be sure I was still living, the clock in front of me said 5:00. So I'm guessing mine lasted about an hour and a half or so. Didn't get to my room until after 6:30pm. Have absolutely NO shoulder pain/gas, and only twice have felt a slight gas twinge in the breadbasket area of my chest. Incisions are sore, but that's to be expected. And like everybody else, not really hungry. The little bits of clear liquids they had given me were more than plenty. Hope all are doing well!

I'm baaaa-ack! Everything went fine, my liver was the size of a deck of cards (lol), so I followed instructions perfectly enough to give the docs what they needed. A bit sore (obviously), though I had no morophine drip -- boo. I've done laps around the hospital about 5 times already, and haven't had terrible pain. But still taking advantage of the meds regardless. Anyway, got NO sleep, the staff was inept, and I had a lot of grief in that area. Long story that I'll get into later when I'm not so woozy. So I have OFFICIALLY JOINED THE BAND!!! WOOT WOOT!!! (ouch, that hurt)
