I hate it when people post just to post.....

Interesting. Is it to see what others are getting, or do you find yourself "missing" or yearning for some items?

Do you mind if I ask: But do you go to a counselor that specializes in eating disorders? I would like to find one. I've used counselors before, but I thought if I got one that specifically deals with these issues along with the core problems that led to our obesity, it would be a definite bonus. I have to believe they exist -- I just haven't looked yet.

I honestly believe that for most of us, it won't be us. You have to figure, we have a device meant to help us with the hungries. If needed, you can get a fill. They have an operation that reroutes your insides and minimizes your stomach, but the stomach is an organ that can stretch -- just like we can stretch our pouches if we do bad things. I know I mentioned before, but I had a friend who had GBP, and though he maybe went from 550 to 450 or so, he was large the entire time I knew him -- AND he even gained some. However, he also bragged about eating slider foods as if he was besting somebody or something trying to keep him down. I always wondered why somebody would go through SUCH a drastic operation and then do something like that. We all know that our eating is psychological as well, since "normal" people don't eat to the point of morbid obesity. Though I personally believe we should all get help for our heads as well as our stomachs, we can at least affect our feelings of being full. They don't have that. It's very sad, that one's addiction can allow them to do that to themselves.

That happens a LOT. Over time the stomach stretches, and before you know it it's back where it was -- and so is your weight. :cursing: So now you've totally rewired your insides AND you're fat. Bad.

LOL, and some ugly dog-faced guy called me a c*nt. That place is eeeeevil. PJTP: Thank God for fills. Second was much more aggressive, and I no longer feel like I could eat my desk. He says he has me where he would have had me anyway.

So I have lost alot of weight and my wife gains it..

I WOULD not recommend hiding anything. If that comes out in a potential divorce, it could be devastating to the OP.

    16lbs shy of losing 200

Oh... my... GOD, you look freakin' fantastic!!!

Mine is like that too. Didn't care that I looked like a freakin' homeless baglady when it was long since it is getting a weird "curl" to it as I get older... OMG, SUSAN, THAT IS FANTASTIC!!!! WOOT!! :tongue2:
  10. Just remember that the post-op phase is ONLY for healing, not weight loss. Any weight loss is simply gravy. If you can keep that foremost in your mind, hopefully you won't stress. :tongue2:

Omg, that's WONDERFUL!! I could never imagine being at that point -- DONE. I've either been losing or gaining for nearly 20 years, but certainly never "done." :tongue2:

Omg, YAAAAYYYY!!! That's fantastic!! Omg, it is. Some of those people are very disturbed. I haven't seen nasty like that since... well, I haven't seen nasty like that ever. And I was met with a "F*CK YOU" post by two of them right off the bat. 'Course it probably didn't help that I said that a few people on there needed some SERIOUS therapy. And sure 'nuff, two of the ones I was thinking about showed me that I was right.

PJTP: Omg, OH has a lot of really NASTY people over there! I visited for the first time and accidentally ended up in their Rants and Raves section and omg, they toss around the "C" word like it's going out of style!
  16. BINGO!! As do the ones who "did it too" and tell others that it's okay.
  17. I understand that. However, though I did not pay for their band, there are others who are newly banded or who are considering the band that may get confused OR believe that they can "cheat" early on like others did. It's not the admitting the cheating that gets my goat -- it's all the others that say it's okay that they did it and not to sweat it. It's NOT okay, and it sends a bad message to potential new bandsters.

    Lap-Band, the easy way out.

Okay, good. I'm not the only one who felt it was sheer willpower after about a couple weeks post-op. :grouphug: And since my first fill, it is more willpower than before. I am hungry two hours after eating now. The nurse warned me this might happen, though the fill doc said it wouldn't. I have to go with the nurse on this one. That is why I scheduled my second fill two weeks after the first one.

    Lap-Band, the easy way out.

That is an absolutely fantastic victory!!! A HUGE CONGRATS!!
  24. I know this may not make sense, but for me, I get frustrated more with the people who say it's okay that somebody ate a side of beef three days after surgery. I know that is exaggerating a tad, but it's the enablers who, maybe to justify their own screw-ups, tell others that "it's okay, I did it too." Yes, we all screw up at times; but those who enable or encourage it are the ones I take issue with because it's people sharing destructive tendencies with others. Who wants to be the "lone screw-up," right? Like misery loves company.
  25. In all honesty, what I've seen seems to indicate an issue with the bandsters' inability to refrain from improper foods and not with the doctors' instructions.
