I was never a skinny girl, but I was an attractive, happy 150 pound girl. When I hit 25 I started to gain weight. It took me 8 years to gain 100 pounds. I was really depressed about my new bigger figure. I dieted, exercised, and pleaded with God to help me lose the weight. The only problem I had was that I was too big to exercise comfortably, and I was always hungry. However God was listening and somehow, somewhere I found out about the lapband. Thanks God! Now that I am smaller I can exercise comfortably, and well the hunger thing is taken care of. My experience with banded has been good. I have lost 80 pounds; not overnight, and it has been work. My goal is to get to 160. At first I wanted to be 125, but then I remembered that I looked good at 150. I am getting plastic surgery when I hit 160. I am kind of nervous about getting plastics; I don’t like pain. I can’t believe I only have 10 pounds left to go! I am married to the love of my life. He has walked with me through the liquid stages, mushy stages, eating on small plates, changing the diet of the whole family, and he even coaches me when I exercise. (I hate the 5km runs, and the 20km bike rides during the weekend, but he is too cute to resist.) My 12 year old daughter is also supportive because she has taken all of these changes in stride. I couldn’t have made the progress I have without them. The after picture is a of my lapband doctor, Dr. Woodhead, and me.
