Piercing pain on the left
coolchick replied to nervous_newbie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I actually had the same thing happen to me after I stupidly lifted a 30 pound dog only a week after surgery. I asked my doctor about it and he said that I probably tore some scar tissue and that it would take a couple months to truely heal that after 6 months I would for sure not feel that pain anymore. It actually was so bad at one point that I couldnt walk or twist or move in certain ways otherwise I would feel a sharp pinch where the port is. So what I did was I went to a drug store and purchased a gauze bandage to wrap tightly around my waist where the port was to hold it in place because I noticed it didnt hurt as much when I did that. I had it on for about 2.5 months before i could take it off and I no longer feel any pain at all. Try that and see it helps. You could just have either ripped scar tissue or irritation. The gauze wrap kinda helps keep it in place an heal faster I think. Well I hope that helped. If you still have pain after 6 months then I would be concerned. -
Whenever I eat I start off really tight, then loosen all the way after several bites

oh thanks yeah i was thinking that i needed a fill. I mean after the first few bites go down I actually end up finishing the whole meal. I lose 25 pounds since my last fill so I guess it just loosened up a bit with the weight loss. -

Does that mean I should go a little tighter? -

Help! I don't understand this band. Whenever I eat I start off really tight and almost feel stuck but then when those first few bites finally go down it seems like I have no more restriction and can finish my meal like I have no band in me. What is going on? :w00t: -

Help! I just had port revision done 2 weeks and now suddendly sharp pains!
coolchick replied to coolchick's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
Just as an update it has been about 6 weeks now since my surgery and a little over a month since I started feeling the sharp pains but I just wanted to report that it does get better. What I did was I purchaed a gaus from a drugstore and wrapped that around my waist where the port is to help with the pain and to keep it from moving and kept that on for over a month and now finally I no longer have the sharp pinches or pain anymore. I still have if I move around a lot a little achyness from time to time but its not bad. As a precaution I am going to keep my gaus on for another month just to make sure and my doctor thinks thats a good idea as well. Also I just got back from seeing my doctor and he said he can see nothing wrong that it doesnt even move so it could just be inflamation that can take months to heal with some people. So I just wanted to let u know that it does get better. -

coolchick replied to coolchick's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Alicia99 I too have 3cc in my 4cc band and find that althought I at times get stuck I still dont feel full and as soon as the food goes down and gets unstuck then I find that I can usually finish the rest of my meal with no problem. Its like I was tight for the first few bites but then I loosen up when the food goes down. Does anyone else experience this? When I first got my fill I guess I was a bit swollen because I actually felt full after eating a small portion but then after 4 days it seemed to loosen up a bit and now I no longer get the full feeling that I first had with my fill. I am going for another fill June 3rd so hopefully they give me another .4 or .6 and that should do the trick. My weight loss so far has been very weak as well. Only about a pound a month. -
5 days later - Still sharp pain at port site
coolchick replied to Katiegrrl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well I go back to the doctor in 2 weeks so I will let you know for sure what happens. In the meantime I find that if I put a wrap tight around my stomach that seems to help a lot with the pinches and pain. Its almost as if I am keeping it in place. I just had revision surgery 1 month ago and 2 weeks after surgery is when I noticed this pain. Its been another 2 weeks since and still not much better. I am hoping in 2 weeks when I see my doctor that he will have some answers for me. -

hey heartfire I have the same pinch and pain in my port area too. I was just wondering if those pinches ever went away on their own for you or do you still deal with the pain? Did you require revision surgery to correct the issue? Everytime I move in a certain way I can feel a sharp pinch and I was just wondering what this could be. -
Hi I have been having the same port pain that you describe. I have pinching and pain when I move or twist in a certain way. I was just wondering if your pain and pinching ever went away or did you require revision surgery? I have been having this for over 2 weeks now ever since I picked up a 35 pound dog. Well I hope to hear back from you soon. Thanks in advance.

So what happens if you pop a port stitch?
coolchick replied to zeama's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey Zeama I just wanted to ask you if your stitch problem with your port went away. I ask because for almost 2 weeks now I have been having the same pain whenever I move or twist in a certain wait I get sharp pinches and pain around my port area and fear I may have pulled a stitch or something. I was just wondering what happend in your situation? Did it ever heal on its own or did you require revision surgery? Thanks in advance. :rolleyes2: -
Help! I just had port revision done 2 weeks and now suddendly sharp pains!

I had port revision done about 2 weeks ago and felt the normal soreness that comes from having that surgery so after a week I felt totally fine and healed but just yesterday which was day 12 from my port revisoin surgery I started to get some pains and pinches in the port area. What could be going on? I did lift a small dog yesterday that was about 25 pounds and I also worked out my abs about 4 days ago so maybe that is what is causing this. Will this pain go away? I am so scared!
