When I used an online calculator to set my ideal weight, it gave me 126. HA! I was 126 one time in my life, when I was 17 and popping black beauties (speed), I was SO thin that my hipbones stuck out and were constantly being bruised just from my jeans - NEVER again! My PCP says 138 which is better, but honestly I am still going to have 15 lbs. of redundant skin hanging from my stomach after this is all said and done - so if I add that 15 on to the 138 we are getting close to reasonable. Hey I will accept the 138 if Kaiser will accept paying for that skin to get removed, LOL! I'd better get out there and walk, the sun is coming out and its gonna be HOT today . . . .

Hey Dr. Baggs fans ~ how did your goal weights get set? Did he tell you what your goal should be, or did you just calculate it on your own? If you discussed it with him, who brought it up? He's never said a word to me about what I'm shooting for or what my goal is . . . kinda scared to bring it up because I'm afraid his goal will be lower than mine, LOL! What are your experiences?

Jes I have been up since 3:30 too . . I guess I should have logged on then! Laying around watching Roseanne on the cable . . .happy purring cat on top of me . . foggy & cold out so I'm putting off my walk for a while! Down another lb. this morning, this one took me 8 days! S L O W but steady :tongue2:

Donna I hear you are a rock star! Good for you girlfriend!! Pam I have not checked with Casinis yet re: if they have any spots for Labor Day weekend.; I know the perfect campsite though, will handle 1 RV and 3-4 tents - anybody interested??? Tina I am SO jealous! I want that kind of restriction . . . I* still only have 4.5! But I guess I should not complain about losing 52 lbs. in the 5 months since my surgery . . . maybe the next one will put me "green" . . . . Back from my work-related pool party - came home early cause I was wet and cold! Been going for 5 years, this is the 1st year I had the nerve to get in the pool! Yay me! Like the size 12/14 thing a LOT :tongue2:

You can do this, Heather! Just a few more weeks of hell . . . I am one of those who did it all, I had my first child while getting my AA degree, the second while getting my BA degree, and the third while getting my MA degree. I am SO not going for my doctorate! now that I know that it's school that causes babies, LOL. Oh and I worked through almost all of it, time off (few months) when each of the kids was born (the last one came to work and school withme, LOL!) Somehow I kept up the energy and momentum . . .I knew at the time that if I took just 1 semester off, I'd never go back! I have no idea now - not that I'm so OLD that is - how I ever did it. But you have 20 years on me girl, and you are smart as a whip!! You CAN do this! Go Heather, go Heather . . . .
  6. I never "cheated" - was scared to death I'd have a huge fatty liver & would not get surgery - instead I went the other way and did not eat all of the food (specifically, the starches) that we were allowed on the 1200 calorie pre-op diet. As a result I had lost 43 lbs. before my surgery date rolled around! That's 43 I didn't have to lose later, and my liver was "flat like a pancake" for surgery
  7. I think a 4-oz serving of meat or fish is the size of a deck of cards/palm of your hand. 1 oz. is the tiniest cup that they give you to sip liquid out of after surgery; 2 oz. of Water fit in to a 1/4 cup measure.

Lucky you, Tina! Now you'll lose like crazy! Did not get to finish our 1/2 marathon this morning, one of the gals (the one who is 11 years out from RNY) had a venti caramel machiatto (she was feelin' crazy) before we left, and about an hour/4 miles out she got the dumping - went inSANE, it is like dealing with someone VERY drunk and sick - disoriented, cussing and swearing, stumbling around, very sick. SO we came back, practically carrying her! She was a little better in an hour, but . . sheez. No more machiattos for her! Still dumping syndrome after 11 years! Not for me, thanks (!) So I only have 7 miles in so far, about a half of a half marathon! Going to a swim party @ 2, need to go walk to the store now and find something healthy that's easy to make & take. Maybe red pepper strips and whole-wheat pita triangles, with Tribe hummus?? And stuff for my son to eat, they don't do "health" food. The walk to the store will put me over 8 miles, if I go the really long way I can be over 10 miles for the day, plus swimming at the party - I should be good on excercise for today! Now if I can just control my eating . . the farther out I get from my fill, the more I eat: B-soy slender decaf latte; 1/2 cup egg beaters w/ 2 tbsp. cheese; 1 cheese stick reduced fat- 240 cals oh and i forgot, 3 little blackberries i picked and ate on our walk!

Decaf only babe, sorry! And no sodas again, ever (unles they are flat and caffeine=free) Caffeinne was my hardest thing to give up. It's worth it!!! I drank decaf coffee the morning after my surgery, it did not taste too good but i needed something to feel normal, ya nknow? Actually I am drinking a 1/2 caff right now, 5 months out shhhh

Pam! Yay . . we were just at Casini's Family Campground, Duncans Mills on the Russian River, 4 miles to ocean. Great for families, they have everything! I had a class C, don't know how long i was just borrowing it slept 6 and worked great - esp since there were only 2 of us, one of the gals bought a house and didn't show up! Casinis has both RV and tent sites, a few that fir both . . but its $$ cause its private, I prefer the state parks (Hendy Woods in Mendocino a favorite) but everything has been reserved solid! Missed my annual camping trip w/my work buddies this year, am trying to get us all together w/families for a lap band trip in september! Any ideas Pam?

Dana, yes hang with us here online! There is no one else here from Sonoma County tho, but quite a few people in So Co that went through South San francisco for their surgeries . . . you will meet them on a Saturday walk, and for sure at the Saturday support group that on the 2nd Saturday of each month! Also Scott Alyn, who you will meet through that Saturday SoCoWLS support group that I sent you the link for, he does a walk or several walks during the week @ Spring Lake in Santa Rosa - that's closer to you, too Holy moley girls, just got back from Fresh Choice with my son . . . . I have already eaten 910 calories today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OMG I just finished my calorie count from yesterday, I ate over 1400!!! yikes! And I thought I was being SO good! No wonder the scale has not moved down, LOL - that is awful! Yeah I need a fill. I miss that feeling I had for about 2 weeks after the last group one. I want that feeling again! Not PBing, just eating very little, being able to stop (cause yiou KNOW it will hurt if you don't!), and then not even THINKING about food again for 4-6 hours. I want that back! Right now I'll say to my son, "what do you want for dinner i'm starving," and he'll be like, l"ook at the clock mom, it has only been 2 hours since we had lunch! I don't want anything, I'm still full from lunch," and I'll be like, "well you little turkey, did you steal my lap band???"

Hot42, I live in Santa Rosa and that Kaiser has been told to refer their folks to SSF now rather than Richmond. My PCP had not heard that, so he went ahead and referred me to Richmond. Here's the secret: you can go to any Kaiser facility that offers the program that you want! They have a required into class now - probably what you are scheduled for Sacto for, although they also have it in Santa Rosa (but may not have one before the Sacto one), THEN you go to orientation at one of the No Cal centers that does the surgery - there are only 4, Richmond SSF Fresno and 1 more I can't think of, but it's NOT sacramento. You can chose . . .they will schedule you for SSF,m and you can go there or you can call when you get your orientation appt. card and ask to be transferred to Richmond. Unkless a lot has changed!

Well this is weird, i just got a card in the mail for Dr. Baggs on the 20th in Pinole at 1:45, and another card same day for Robin in Richmond on August 7th! What is up with THAT?!?! I'm not doing it twice! I think maybe they slotted me in the August 20th because it was close to 2 months out, then cancelled me from that one what I got a new fill appt. on the 7th, because when I go online it shows Robin at 3:30 and Dr. Baggs at 4:30, both in Richmond on the 7th. As you guys know I have started gaining again and I can't wait until the 20th for another flippin' fill! I only have 4.5 for pete's sale. . . .

    Friday Weigh Ins

194 - thats a bit of a gain over last Friday, and a BIG bit of a gain (2 lbs) over last Wednesday. Not happy about it, but it's not unexpected - I only got back from vacation yesterday :-) No fill until the 7th of August, so I'm going to have to work really hard to lose this one back and not gain any more before then. Happy Friday everyone!

good god, 6 times on the way home! You must know ALL the pee stops! I hate that needing to pee when I'm stuck in traffic. . . my fill on the 7th is not until 4:30, Robin at 3:30 so I will be good on the way down but do NOT want to come back at that hour! I can either spend 2 hours at a dead standstill trying to get through Marin, or I can wait 2 ours and do something else with my son until the traffic clears. Anyone know of anything to do close to Richmond Kaiser and not in the path of too bad of traffic? Oakland maybe?

OK so what is a good weekend for camping yall? September 4-5-6-7, the 7th I think is Labor Day? Anyone have a favorite place that we could still get in that weekend? I went to a great family campground this last time, I can check with them if you want but they were a little spendy. It is cheaper for tent camping though! Who has tents, all of us? Anyone in RVs?

Tina when you go back on the 20th is that for a group fill in Pinole again? I want to see you guys! If I am still having issues at the end of next week and the 20th is a group thingy, I will cancel my 7th if I can still get in the 20th. But I will probably need it by the 7th! Seems I get tighter again if I gain 2-3 lbs back - what a MIRACLE! So I have only 1 way to go - down down down. Just hit 10 miles for the day, I feel much better now that I am getting my excercise again - warning label, once you get addicted to it you feel like crap if you skip 4-5 days! I don't sleep at night and my mind does these little freaky worry things - I am much more agitated and impatient - so I have to excercise again to feel better again! Just a fair watning girls - excercise really IS my replacement addiction. Also I have been pee-ing all friggin day (sorry about the TMI) so I think I am probably losing water again. I hope so anyways! I have stayed away from all carbs except for lettuce and a tomato slice today. Much better that the chips & salsa yesterday!! Well there was 2 net carbs in my grilled meatless chicken patty, so I am probably at 20 oh wait let me go to caloriecount.about.com and look - OK I am at 22 net carbs today. As long as I stay under 40 net today I should be back in ketosis real soon - maybe even by tomorrow if I walk enough tonight. Then I won't be hungry anymore

Tina naughty girl! You had clear liquid wheat thins?!? Thats funny he was asking your daughter, I am bringing my son with me when I go for my fill in Richmond on the 7th but now I'm not going to bring him in the room with me! Not if Dr. Baggs is going to ask him about my bad habits . . my son would spill the beans about me having a couple drinks at that luau, for sure! And about PBing . . but he could also tell him how freakin' much I can eat!! And how much I excercise, etc. I guess I am some good and some bad . . I know I would do better if I would just follow ALL the rules, but I want to live my life too, ya know? Congrats on your 5 lbs!!! Much better than last time!
