Hi Donna hunny! I wish we were closer, too :-( I AM going to be @ Richmond Friday, won't be able to eat (pre- and post-fill clear liquids, yick!) but we are going to walk at Point Isabel & see the Rosie the Riveter Memorial before we head back over the bridge - anyone care to join in? Say yes or I'm goin' to Ikea instead, LOL! I can't afford that place

Did you notice that NONE of the sheriffs got funds?? It was all city PDs, not a single sheriff's department. What is up with THAT? They must not have been eligible to apply for some reason . . . .

Went by and had my blood work done this morning, I guess it is my 6 month blood work? Don't know but they took 4 tubes! I figured I would need to have had it done before my appt. this Friday, I will only be 5 1/2 months out from surgery but won't go in again for 2 months after than. I hope I have good blood!! K ladies I am on the main phone line today from 10 - 3 so if it's not ringing I'm going to be typing!!!

That's what I mean, it's a big fat load of food!! And when I got home from waiting 2 hours at my local Kaiser for 1 bottle of insulin for my son, I was STARVING again so I ate - of all things - pine nuts!! Ugh. So I am at 1200 calories today . . . but I also got in almost 11 miles, so I burned off plenty. Still - gonna hear about that snack on my log from Robin! In the 6 "perfect" days that I have logged, I have Snacks on 3 of them! Well I guess that is what happens when you need a fill, huh?? Oh well. No more eating now I have to go to bed then miss my coffee in the AM, need to go have my blood work done and it's fasting cause my PCP wants cholesterol . . . .

Reggie, YAY! We were getting worried. . . . glad to c u back! You nkeep posting on here during the bad times too, you hear? We all went through bandster hell! Ye gads, what is THIS all about . . OK so I refrained from snacking all afternoon not even the miso soup - I have to give my log to Robin and I don't want to hear about it! So I am TOTALLY starving when I get home and I wolf down: 1 cup boiled edamane, with 1/2 cup pomodoro sauce , and 1/4 cup of reduced-fat cheddar, and 2 tbspns parmesan cheese. 1/2 cup SF pudding That's 2 1/2 cups!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SO was it better that I did not snack???" I'm not so sure! Jeez. . . got to get my kid to walk with me now!!!

OH boy, I am STARVING now feeling weak growling tummy . . . have been since I wrote that last email saying I was still full, LOL! I got up from my desk and boom, hungry. I am going to have some miso broth, Robin will just say I am feeding my head hunger but what they heck am I supposed to do? Either than or I'm going to go pull the candy bowl out of my secretary's desk drawer!! I did 6 miles so far today and I am definately more hungry when I do more than 4 or 5 miles. Still, I need to get in shape! Santa Rosa Marathon is at the end of this month (I am doing the 1/2 marathon, NO I am not running, jog/walking only!) and Lake Tahoe Marathon is next mointh, so I need to be back up to a 10-mile-day average. I guess I'm gonna eat!

OHOHOH ladies - I want that, I want that! I SO need restriction to take me back down to 1/4 - 1/2 a cup!! I ate for lunch today uhm, let's see: 1/2 cup lowfat cottage cheese 1 boca burger patty with catsup 2 slices reduced fat jarlsberg swiss cheese 1/2 cup of fiber one cereal (yeah I just crunch it dry!) The bad new is that's almost 2 cups of food, and I am already almost at 700 calories for the day. The good news is that I AM still full . . . . of course it has only been 3 hours.
  11. riley4183

    Kaiser Richmond Pre-op

OOOOhhhhh Pam, I want that kind of restriction! Except for the cherry coming back up . . . tell me, if it was only down for less than 1 minute, do you have to log it?? I guess not or you would have logged 6 cherries!

    Kaiser Richmond Pre-op

Yucko Tina! I guess you're done testing your limits for a while, eh?? I would have done that with ice cream too, even before surgery - never a temptation for me - I know how BAD that intestional cramping hurts!!! I can eat anything today. -sigh -

OH I'm pooped today, only got in 3 or 4 miles today . . .and only 6 yesterday . . .tomorrow I MUST get back to my routine, but it's taking longer & longer in the AM for it to be light enough for me to go out there and walk! Almost an hour later than it was 2 months ago. . . . .I don't want winter, I'm not ready!!! Anyway . . going to do a couple of soduko puzzles, fold some laundry and go to bed! G'night girls :-)
  15. I always get a little lidocaine shot first, and I'm glad to have it! That fill needle is a LOT bigger than the little lidocaine prick, and the way they poke and dig around in there to get into the port straight (mine pops around a bit)- EW. I don't want to feel it! And thankfully I never have :-)

Oh goodness Nicole you know it! Do I, or don't I?? Some days when I have restriction I think I will just wait another month for a fill, then for the next 4 days I will have zero restriction and be able to eat anything! It's crazy and I don't know if I want one or not! Here is what I do know: A week after my last fill, I had perfect restriction, I could eat about 1/4 cup and I was DONE, and stayed full for 4 hours. So much so that I did not even think about food! I had no PB issues or anything, I just went about my life without even thinking about food. Then, almost overnight, I lost that and started eating 2+ cups at a time, and getting hungry again within 2 hours. I emailed Dr, Baggs & told him that, he said yes I needed another fill. Kelly called to make me the appt., and she tried to get me in the next day! I'm glad I didn't go in then. The big weight loss is from having the stomach flu, not from being too tight. Although I have worked hard to not regain that weight this week! Yesterday's PB was from my stupidity - I have not been PBing lately. I can even eat tortillas now, I could probably eat bread if I let myself try! I will go in and talk to him, we can figure it out together. I am thinking about asking for .25cc, if that turns out not to be enough, oh well I still won't be any worse off than I am right now! I do NOT want to be too tight, do not want to be on liquids or anything. But I DO want that sweet spot back!!

Scrapbooking is a sad, sore subject for me . . .when my ex went wacko after his head injury, one of the things he did was take and destroy all of our photos of the 3 kids, from birth pics on through their growing up, with family members who have since passed, everything. You have no idea how deeply that hurts, it did then and it still does now! That was 10 years ago and my heart still hurts. Destroying photos of your children is like destroying the children, the memories . . oh god its awful that he could do that. That's what brain injury does . . . anyways. I have only photos that were hanging on my walls. I've done a bunch of pages for friends but for me . . alas. Probably why I won't break down and buy a digital camera, horrid memories and a big hole in my heart! Still love that Cricut :-) I used to make cards but nothing like you can do with that thing! Just stamping & embossing.

Tamra Tamra Tamra. How many nachos, and how many fries?? I'll bet even if you ate a 1/2 order of each, you did not go over 800 cals for that little pig-a-roo. Add that to your skinny latte and you are sill well under 1,000 cals - you have 200-300 stilo to go today!! Have a salad all vegies and non-fat dressing for dinner and you'll be fine, still on program. Last time I went out and pigged on mexican food, it got me out nof starvation and I stated losing again! I really think we need to keep our systems guessing with a high-fat, high-calorie (well, higer than 1000) day once a week or so to avoid the metabolic slow-down. We've all found post-surgery that we can't lose on less than about 1,100 or 1,200 cals a day. Lots of water, lots of vegies for roughage, you are FINE girl
  19. Yeah 96 lbs. already, I only had surgery 5 months ago - it's crazy! I lost 43 before surgery, 53 after so far . . . 10 lbs. a month, it has slowed down now to 2 lbs. a week. I think it will probably take me another 6 months to get to my goal weight, and that's OK. I love my band!!!

Oh Nicole that Cricut looks like a blast! I drool over it every time I see it on TV . . . . I wish I was that creative! They make it look easy, but yeah someone has to think of all these projcts, I'm just not that clever!! I am going to be down like 10-12 lbs. at my 4th fill appt. on Friday since my last fill which was what, 6 weeks ago? Since our June group fill. That;s enough for him to give me another fill, but is it too much? I read on here somewhere that you can't get a fill if you have lost more than 2 lbs a week, has anyone heard that? Maybe I will just wear jeans to my appt., LOL - forget to wear socks so I have to leave my shoes on to weigh in! Have you guys heard him/them saying anything like that? I know I read it on this board but it may not have been Kaiser . . .

Oh I love Newsboys too! I have not seen them since Christian Music Night @ Great America about 11 years ago . . . . haven't forgotten a song tho . . . Isabella is a belly dancer with a kleptomaniac's restraint, tried stealing Eleanor's hand basket, made a fast getaway but McQueen she ain't, at the courtroom Joshua judges her ruthlessly on account of Ruth walking out on him, in the big house Isabella is a tellin' all to the chaplain who's become a friend . . . . . yikes that's stuck in some weird lobe in my brain! That's the first few lines of Take Me to Your Leader. I just LOVE the Newsboys! And DC Talk, and Audio Adrenaline . . . I say it's from my Youth Ministry days, but truth be told it was always me!! Oh I hope Donna is having a BLAST and dancing to every song!!! So the wedding yesterday was fabulous, it was a long day because I had to take my son out there early to help out with the food, then when we got there of course there was a TON of stuff to do so I ended up helping too, long day but . . . my #1 weakness was there, home brewed chocolate-espresso stout, I had like 4 glasses of it (like 4-oz glasses, no worries) but it probably had 120 cals per glass, then of course it made me lazy about my chewing carefully, so off into the bushes I was sliming  . . . . nice of me to water their plants! It's an organic farm, so hey it's all good . . . NOT! So anyways I got over that and tried to eat again, but my band was irritated by then so back to the bushes with some real PBing this time . . . ah yi yi, not too pretty! I don't think anyone noticed except my son, who was dogging me the whole time because I had had the beer . . . . needless to say I did not even TRY to eat the wedding cake! Enough trying to eat already :scared2: We did not have a camera, sorry ladies. I did spend some time tucking "the girls" back into my new dress, I've decided that it's too big across the top! There were quite a few other ladies there with uhm . . . ample cleavage, thank goodness, so I didn't stand out. Couple of compliments but no jaws dropping or anything :-) Went to a yard sale today and picked up some size 12 jeans, tried them on when I got home can't quite zip them yet but MAN they make my butt look good! Another 10 lbs. and I'm going to actually like my butt!! In clothes that is . . . . it is GROSS bare . . . . skin hangs down in weird places, LOL!!
  22. JoJo, how are you feeling hunny? I trust everything went great in surgery and you're just real busy being up and walk-walk-walking?

  23. I hate to say it, but I am 5 1/2 months out from surgery and I still spend a lot of time at the bar, at parties and so on - but my habits have definately changed because of the band. I often drink water or iced tea - my social life is MUCH cheaper now! - and I bring my own mixers. But unfortunatrely I can drink beer now. Not straight out of a bottle or can tho, and not more than a couple - it REALLY fills me up! I'd rather have vodka with diet cranberry juice. But when in Rome . . . . at race parties, at the track and such, I pour it over a cup of ice from a couple of feet above - takes most of the carbonation out. All my friends know I have a band so they get a kick out of flattening my beers for me! I also discovered that I can drink a nice draft guinness . . . . I didn't need to know that! Only 1 of them though, too filling. Never ever drink straight out of a bottle or can that's just been opened tho, it comes right back out though my nose, and it stings like hell!
