Oh yes I am a total weirdo! I thought it was time that you guys knew the truth . . . classic closet calcium bingeing, don't ya know. They do not EVEN taste good! Supposed to be delicious vanilla flavor, i thought they were gross and they are calcium citrate, so i took them to my RNY buddies and tried to give them away, they passed them around the whole group tasting them, and they all passed -so the bottle came back home with me. THAT is how bad they are, and THAT is how strong my mindless eating gene is!! Maybe I should keep a box of cotton balls by my bed for my next episode, I might at least notice that they're kinda dry . . .

Oh my. I just mindlessly ate as I sat here looking at Candra's photos (good looking fam Candra!) - my chewable calcium! Oh no I think I must have eaten like 8 of them . . . the bottle says 6 calories and 1 carb each, but at least it does not say anything like "in case of accidental dosage" or "do not exceed recommended dosage!" I had already taken 1 in the a.m. so I only planned to take 1 more . . . just goes to show you, fat habits die hard! Is calcium constipating? Maybe I have been doing this more often than I thought, the bottle sure looks low!!

Maria no need to tell them in the interview, tell them when you get a job offer. Especially since you don't even have a surgery date to give them yet! And the surgery IS elective, so you can work with them a bit - you can have the surgery anytime, but you can only start a new job after they offer it to you! I use the special K protein waters when I'm hungry and need to tide over . . . or pick around the mac in the turkey mac, if you only get 6 little pasta pieces it won't hurtcha too bad! Fruit has carbs too remember. Got any cheese? Can of kidney beans?

Jeepers, I just looked at my averages for the last week, since I got the fill that put me in my sweet spot - I went from eating an average of 900 to 1100 calories a day to an average of under 550! Cut them practically in half without really trying. For the first time since immediately pre-op, I am having a tough time getting in my 60 grams of Protein. Not ready to do Protein shakes though, I get over 50 so I should be OK. What do you want to bet that my averages creep back up over the next 5 weeks until it is fill time again?? Tina you poor thing, you are going to have to eat the densest Proteins you can! Robin says eggs and cheese will stay longer than the non-animal sources, but I think that the Quorn chicken stays with me best of all. Lentils not so much, unless I make them with MSF sausage then they give me a few hours of full.

Hey this is fasciniating - did you guys hear about this UCLA study?? Kind of confirms what we were saying in this thread a few pages back: A study conducted by UCLA's Department of Psychiatry has revealed that the kind of face a woman finds attractive on a man can differ depending on where she is in her menstrual cycle. For example: if she is ovulating, she is attracted to men with rugged and masculine features. However, if she is menstruating or menopausal, she tends to be more attracted to a man with duct tape over his mouth and a spear lodged in his chest while he is on fire. No further studies are expected.

Tina we are packing here too, I am partway in my new bldg. and cubicle but some of the other cubicles are not even getting bult until this weekend, and we have to be out of the leased building by noon oln friday - so they are smooshing other peoples cubicles smaller her over the weekend and building new ones for some of the staff in my division - EVERYone is pissed about it but it is going to save us hundreds of thousands to not lease the other office space any more. The biggest whiners of course are the same old people who have never been caught doing in actual work, but who walk around and whine and complian constantly. BTW Tina a sent a good note about Robin to Dr. Baggs today

Nicole edamame is soybeans, you can get them frozin still in the pod or already shelled, in the pod is higher in fiber either way they are a great protein source. Safeway Raleys Whole Foods Trader Joes . . everywhere

Hungry! First time since the last fill . . hungry again after only 3 hours. Oh . . but all I had for lunch was miso soup and basil vegetables (Thai place), no tofu no protein so that's probably why huh? Duh, I deserve that one! I'm going to drink water and hold out as long as I can for dinner, which is gonna be hecka protein!!

Hi La Chica, Richmond is faster than SSXF - they will tell you 6-8 months . . . my wait at Richmond was 3.5 months - but I did not sit around and wait passively, I worked like heck and lost all of my pre-surgery weight before I met with the surgeon so Ithey fast-tracked me, which they will do with you too if you lose your 10% between orientation and when you meet with the surgeon. I could have been in weeks earlier but scheduled my surgery for a week that I already had off of work. YOU are the one making it go fast by losing weight fast - as soon as you do, you are 3 to 6 weeks from your surgery date.

OHHH Christine this is one of my favorites! I buy the shelled ones though, boil about 1/3 cup in the microwave, drain them well, then put on a couple of tablespoons of Trader Joe's Pomodoro sauce (super-low fat & carbs) and a tablespoon of low-fat cheddar or fresh parmesan cheese - YUMMO to die for! It works really well with my band too, I feel like I have eaten a LOT I still have to chew really well, but they are plenty filling. I also eat the dry roasted edemame but they are a mindless snacking thing for me so try to just have them around for protein emergencies! So for the pods, 1/2 cup has 100 cals 9 total carbs but 4 of fiber and 8 of protein! Compare that the shelled which has 120 calories per 2/3 cup, 9 total carbs 3 fiber and a whopping 10 protein. So the pods have better fiber but the amound that I can eat of those is not enough to get my whole 15-20 grams of protein that I shoot for in a meal. Oh and Robin totally approves of the above recipe, as long as it is mostly edamame and not mostly sauce.

OK let's just set it, Petaluma walk August the 29th and we will figure out the time later - hopefully we will meet in the AM as it tends to get hot at the end of August - but not as hot as Vallejo or Sacto thank goodness! I will see if any of my Santa Rosa groupies wanna go too, we have been talking about it also

    Kaiser Richmond Pre-op

Candra I can do Petaluma anytime except this coming weekend, my stepmom is having a medical procedure & I have to fly to Portland then drive to Bend - ugh - and oh actually the next weekend the 30th is the Santa Rosa Marathon, but I can't really afford the entry fee for that . . . what about August 29th? Does that work for everybody for the petaluma walk? I have to call Liz once I get a tentative from yous guys . . . .

Oh goodie, another walking day trip! That sounds like a blast, let's get a vanpool together and do it on a Saturday or Sunday? Or even a Monday or Friday, probably less crowded then . . . .

Christine, what fun! I love holidays, and apple cide, and crafts, and liitle shops. . . any chance that we could get a bunch of walking in there, or is a driving from farm to farm kind of a deal?

OMG. I am so glad that I closed my laptop and went to sleep last night, or ele I would have pee'd my bed reading your psost Tina! TOO FUNNY! As it is I am in the office cracking up and people are coming over to see what I'm laughing at, but they just don't get it ya know? Besdies the fact that I'm on the internet during work time . . this new cubicle is nice tho, I can just glance out the window to my left to see if the big boss's car is here, and I am 14 steps from the bathroom and 16 from the Water cooler so I should get more water in! Unfortunately I am in only 1 building now so no more walking the 1/2 mile between them 2 or 3 times a day, I am going to have to step up purposeful excercise. Tarma I CAN eat anything 5 1/2 months out from surgery, but I don't. I certainly have had potatoes, but they are a trigger for me so I avoid them if there is any chance of me getting more - they are like a drug for me, LOL - I have snuck some of my son's chili cheese fries though, he smacks my hand so I never get more than 1 or 2 which is perfect for me :-) OK I need to work now, how sucky is that?

You always have us . . .I told my friends that I had fatty liver disease (which I did) and that I had to stop drinking completely (which I did not) so I lied to get them to lay off of me! Your boyfriend is right. I mean, if I feel like I have to lie to my friends so they don't think badly of me, then how good of friends can they be?

Only the WRONG men Tina, I think you know how that goes! I have HORRIBLE taste in men, I like the bad boys too much. I have to get over that. I did get proposed to a couple of months ago, from a friend I have known since I was 19 . . . we have done stuff together but never "dated" - friends ONLY - never even kissed him, and he just decided 2 months ago that we should get married?? I had not even seen him for like 4 months! Stupid. That's the kind of morons I attract!

I am proud too Heather! You HOTTIE you! Heels and everything - walk carefully, LOL! Tina no men for me too, it kind of scares me that I'm so good with that! I really, REALLY cannot even imagine bringing some guy and all of the associated trauma into my life right now. That doesn't mean I'm not going out dancing & going to parties, etc. with men cause I am, I am just not letting anyone into "my" space right now. And I'm afraid I am going to want to keep it this way! Perhaps it will change when I meet the right one, but I'm in no hurry. Yes Candra you get a me year too! Just tell him you're taking it, and he gets your brother this year LOL

Tina you are so brave! So right, and so brave . . . . Serioulsy, this is a good discussion topic. How many friends did you lose, and was it permanent? I had to stay away from 1 in particular that was really hard, one oif my 2 best friends and I had to stay away complelety for 7 months. she kinda tried to be supportive but it's like Tina said, the change was not comfortable for her because it meant that SHE needed to change, well once I got stronger - and she saw that I was going to do what I had to do for me, she would harang me a bit and then back right off and say, you are right and I am so proud of you! I did not need any more change from her than that, and we are fine now - although I will still back off for a while if I feel like I need to, but she noi longer gets butt-hurt about it. Oh and she is obese also, once in a while she says she wants the band but she is not willing to give up cigarettes, beer and sloth-like behavior and I was - that's the issue. Our other best friend has been 1000% supportive, was my support person for surgery and everything, she's who I hike with and she has totally adopted my changes aloing with me, and has lost 20 lbs! Everyone handles it SO differently, its hard.

LOL Tina, as you know I did college & grad school too, but never had to learn to be nice to get my MA!!!! And it shows!! You could totally do 50 in a week! OK maybe 100 by Halloween, that's 20 a week how's that? It's less than 10,000 steps a day and every one of us needs to be getting that! I don't know Tina, this is the weirdest thing, I have zero PB issues now! It's like my band is tight enough that stuff does not get stuck in it anymore, so as long as I do not overeat I am not going to PB. I actually "feel" it less, in that regard, no stuck and no PB. I have had some minor sliming when I overfill my pouch by a bite, but I walk away & do something else and I'm fine. really weird, but WONDERFUL!
