Put me down for 182.0! Wow - sweet spot for sure!!
-
You girls are ALL rockin' it! Got to go they are coming to unplug me anytime now . . . . boo-hoo!
-
Tamra my scale says all kinds of different things, I just keep getting in it until it says what I think it should! J/K, I do weigh at least twice and if I don't get the same weight I keep doing it until I get 2 in a row the same . . the first weight is almost always the lowest though, but sometimes I just don't believe it so I get on again and it says something different! It's messing with my mind . . . .

Hi SaZu! NO it's not a year - I asked my doc for a referral in October, had my orientation in November, had my surgery in February and am now down over 100 lbs less than a year from when I started the process. Yes it depends on how fast you lose that 10%! So go for it! Best thing I ever did for myself

Holy moley my girls are chatt-tiiie! Pages and PAGES . . . . all goof stuff of course, but better if Candra would summarize each evening :-) Just checking in, lots of moving while trying to work (I know ya hear me Tina!) today and I am pooped! I got my 10 miles in again today though, and a tad over 700 calories, so that;s good - plenty of protein the last couple days, but I just can't seem to get 60+ in unless I eat close to 800 or more. ANYways . . . .this whole sweet spot/green zone this is absolutely surreal . . . . not hungry, not interested in food - unless reading a cookbook or sumpthin! OH I wish you all the very best in reaching it soon, it's KEWL OK to much water today, have to run off and run some through again - then getting ready for bed. Love you guys!! Goodnight

Men who cause feelings that cause ice cream to be consumed = bad, IMHO. Goodnight ladies ! 1200 cals made me sleepy . . . zzzzzzz
-
Thanks Pam, just wondering if anyone has it? I like the book a lot - most parts of it - but I don't actually "do" it like it says . . when I have a cognitive therapy workbook before (can't remember the name, long time ago) I actually DID the exercises, and it was SO helpful in changing my thinking, I thought maybe that workbook's what I need. Maybe I'll go on amazon & get it, although its also good excuse to go to some big bookstores, and I LOVE bookstores :-)
-
Pam do you have the workbook that goes with Beck's?
-
Tina did you find your pedometer yet??
-
Ladies - such a lively, loving group! Have I told you lately how happy I am to know all of you and to be a part of this great group?!?! This would be SO much more difficult without you all . . instead, it's - dare I say it? - FUN!!! I love you guys!!

Candra do you think you could catch it giving me a new pedicure? I will be due in a couple weeks . . . .

Candra call the office and ask how many lap-band patients he has and if he does his own fills - ask them which doc has most (I think we can assume its Doc - and if you get banded by one doc there, can you switch to another for fills? Nicole the elephant is the recovery one that comes and sits on your chest when you first wake up! No one has ever actualoy seen it so we don't really know that it is pink . . . seriously I had been told to expect it so I did not panic TOO bad when I wole up and the elephant was sitting there - I know I had to get up to make the elephant get off tho, I struggled a bit with that - but at least I did not freak out that I could not breather, which I would have if I was not thinking to myself, "oh there's the elephant sitting on my chest!"
-
I got up to almost 1200 today Nicole, part of it because I had 3 venti soy slender lattes, 2 hot and 1 iced all decaf of course (130 cals each, so almost 400 just in lattes! Talk about drinking my calories!!) but part of it I think is from 2 days in a row of heavy heavy exercise, where I was working off more than 1000 cals but taking in only 500 . . . that it just too much of a calorie deficit! So from about 5 o'clock today until about 7 I ate pretty solid, all good just could not STOP it! Eat a little wait 20 minutes eat some more and repeat . . . . not the bandster way so * hope I am over that! Aunt Flo is leaving so that should not have caused it, I think it is the deficit from too much excercise + not enough food. Weird how it did not hit until today tho.

Iron could definately do it! And at my last visit, Robin told me to take calcium with magnesium in it, as the magnesium has a laxative effect. Isn't it great what we talk about onhere, LOL . . .
-
OOOHHHH. . . the "bathroom" thing! Sausage is the right term Jes, LOL . . . . Well 1200 is probably radically reduced from what you used to eat, so that is going to limit volume - and sometimes frequency - right there. I did not really have the issue pre-op but I sure do have it now! Not always, just like 1/2 the time, lucky me! They SAY it will not happen if you drink LOTS of water, and walk a lot, and I did both of those things and did not have issues. However I also do both of those things now, and I do have issues! For me, I think is was drastically reducing carbs. I was still eating wheat until the end of my pre-op journey, and I think cutting it out (whole grains, etc) created a problem for me frequency-wise. Liz and Robin will tell you that it is not at all unusual due to the greatly reduced volume of food, and you shuld only do something about it if it is actually uncomfortable. Then they recommend Benefiber powder, like the kind in the packets that you add to your water bottles? Looks like crystal light . . . .

Oh and the CPAP I only got 2 weeks before surgery so was TOTALLY not used to it yet, getting in maybe 3-4 hours a night with it on . . . . and I no longer need it, but I am totally addicted to it! I use it all night every night, get up to pee and put it back on when I go back to bed, it makes me go to sleep within a couple of minutes!!
-
Yup. Ah the infamous Richmond Kaiser Recovery Elephant! Most places just have a stuffed animal, at Richmond they got the real damned thing, lucky us :-)
-
Just hush with Liz and bring it, Jes. I brought mine and I told Dr,. Baggs I had it, and all he said was "OK great, you can use that when you get home." Never touched it. Pain to pack it around, it is just a requirement and they never use them - just a hoop. Jump it it's an easy one!
-
Well said Tina!!!
-
Jeez I think that the only thing I said was, "let me up! Let me up! There's an elephant on my chest, I need to get up! I don't want to lay back down!" I woke up on the gurney going TO recovery, so I'm pretty sure I didn't say too much bad - I sure did with my c-sections tho, LOL . . Oh I woke up so early because my heart rate was going too low and they gave me something to speed it up - no worries, you will not wake up early in surgery!

GOOD JOB Tamra! I knew you'd get right back on it :-) Green beans sounds good, hm m mm . . . Candra, in fact I am still afraid every single day that I will somehow fail, I am still shocked that I have been so successful, I still keep thinking that it's because I "cheat" and grab the towel bar or weigh in naked right after my biz, or whatever . . . am just know conceding that you can't "cheat" away 100 lbs. . . .my friend who is 11 years out from RNY (and still LOSING btw) says that she is still scared of it every single day too. I have determined that we who DO stay scared, do the best :-) Weight re-gain is less common with lap-band than it is with RNY. SInce you have to keep going in, it's impossible to just "give up" although some people do and have the band removed. They can pry mine out of my cold dead body, I LOVE this thing! b- soy slender latte, egg beaters with soy meat l - 1.5 oz cheese, 2 cups spring mix with no-cal dressing d - don't know yet! May be a taco bell pintos & cheese night

I'm here Tamra!!!

Everyone that I know that has Wii Fit loves it, and the ones with older kids TOTALLY make it a competitive family fitness activity! The house where my Tuesday support group meets has one, and I can never get a turn on it because everyone else is always trying it, LOL!!
-
Yeah the instant breakfast thing is gross, only a couple of the docs there do it I guess and some get a salad with protein for one of their meals, but one of my friends larger BMI friends had to do just the drink for 7 days pre-op, she did it with unsweetened soy milk (less carbs) and she lost 20 lbs. in that week! BUT - it was medically supervised, so I certainly would not recommend it for more than a couple of days. She had a LOT of weight to lose, too . . . .
-
Oh Tamra the Wii, I want one too! Go for it! Will he really do it if you make the goal?? You might be able to do it; I lost about 3 lbs. a week pre-op and you can always put yourself on the SSF Kaiser pre-op diet for larger BMIs for the last few days if you need those few last pounds (it's sugar-free carnation instant breakfast 3x a day) - but he had better really mean it!!
