  1. So I went in for fill on Monday... they added .75cc - that night I was on liquids and all the next day too... Well, Tuesday night I maybe got 2-3 hours of sleep, because I kept waking up choking on fluids that were coming up my throat and into my mouth. Wednesday I continued on liquids, hoping that my stomach would "calm down" - so much for that! Same thing Wednesday night... very little sleep - kept waking up choking on fluids that were coming up my throat and into my mouth... even took an Acid Reducer, it didn't help at all. I called the Dr this morning and they told me to come in immediately for an un-fill. The Dr removed the .75cc that he put in on Monday. He said that he is glad that I notified them because I was too tight. Please if you are suffering from this "liquid in your throat issue at night" call your Doctor. You can do real damage by letting it go on for too long.

Fill on Monday, Unfill on Thursday

This info is from the Mayo Clinic Website: Barrett's esophagus is a condition in which the color and composition of the cells lining your lower esophagus change, usually because of repeated exposure to stomach acid. Barrett's esophagus is most often diagnosed in people who have long-term gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) — a chronic regurgitation of acid from the stomach into the lower esophagus. Only a small percentage of people with GERD will develop Barrett's esophagus. A diagnosis of Barrett's esophagus can be concerning because it increases the risk of developing esophageal cancer. Although the risk of esophageal cancer is small, monitoring and treatment of Barrett's esophagus focuses on periodic exams to find precancerous esophagus cells. If precancerous cells are discovered, they can be treated to prevent esophageal cancer.

    Sudden Reflux Issues! HELP!

Same thing happened to me.... I was fine @ 8cc's - then boom... acid reflux at night - had to sleep pretty much sitting up and even then it wasn't totally going away. I went in and had 1cc taken out - and that did the trick. I did gain some weight back over the holidays - but am going in for a re-fill on the 17th. Just don't let it go on too long... you can do some serious damage to your esophagus.

    longest stuck episode?

Usually if I get stuck for too long (more than an hour) I will sip on some hot/warm water to get it to move through.... not sure if that will work for you - but it seems to help me

    Cant sleep!!!

Have you tried melatonin to help you sleep? They have the tablets that just "melt" under your tongue... they seem to really work for my husband. He sometimes falls asleep before me!!! We buy them from GNC - http://www.gnc.com/product/index.jsp?productId=4238831 - but I have seen several different vitamin makers that also offer melatonin (@ Walmart, Rite Aid, etc)

    Finally!!!

Congrats!!! :cursing: Keep celebrating those "milestone" victories! That is what helps me - I just take it 10 pounds at a time!!
  12. I take a 5000mcg capsule of Biotin each day and also use a "good" shampoo and conditioner.... that in addition to keeping my protein intake high seems to help with the hair loss. :cursing:

    100 lbs!!!

    Wooooooo Hoooooooo great job!!!
  14. Here is a suggestion.... I keep a basket of hard sugar free candies in my pantry... when I get the "emotional rush" to eat - I grab one of those hard candies and then use it as a "timer" to go do "something".... clean something, pull weeds, trim flowers, go through the mail - etc. Usually takes about 10 minutes for that candy to disolve. It really seems to help me!
  15. When you do snack - just pick more "protein focused" snacks - and if you do pick a carbohydrate type snack - pair it with protein. (Crackers WITH cheese - not just crackers....) I like string cheese and nuts, apple with peanut butter, cottage cheese and cucumber slices, yogurt with granola - etc...
  16. Congrats on moving forward in your journey! ... and yes, the band does change everything - but that isn't a bad thing!
  17. Mmmmmm...... that sounds really tasty!!
  18. Well I am a needle "baby".... :tongue2: My doc uses a "little pricky needle" to numb the port area.... then he grabs the fill needle - don't look at it... it is pretty big! (During the fill, I just stare at a point on the ceiling) It is over pretty quickly - then they have you take a sip of Water and he sends you on your way. Please please please - stick to liquids for the length of time your doc says... don't rush this part! Good luck, you will be fine (if I can do it - anyone can!!)

    5 months post surgery!

Instead of looking at the "pounds as a number" - what is that as a percentage of weight loss? How many pounds do you want to lose total? How much of that total weight loss is that 25 pounds?

23years old 163lbs should i get it doen?

Well... here's my 2 cents - I know a gal that was about 40 pounds overweight and worked as a weather forcaster in So Cal. She was told (more or less) that she was "too fat for TV" and that she was in breech of her contract (some strange TV beauty contract - I dunno) She did self pay and got the band - dropped those 40 pounds pretty quick - but still lost her job for other reasons - now she is miserable!! The band completely changes your life - the way you eat, drink, etc! It is quite a commitment to make for just "a few pounds" Personally, I don't think that you need the band - maybe try following the "bandster rules" and see what type of results you get without getting the actual band installed. Go to the food and nutrition section of the forum - there is a post called "what did you eat today" - try eating like we do - see if that helps you. The band seems like somewhat of an extreme situation - but it is a personal choice you will need to make - just wanted to share my thoughts! :blushing:
