I definitely know I lose weight in my upper body before my lower because I’m all hips and thighs; I have been since I was a tween. So when I have lost before, it took me 40lbs to drop a pant size. I just want it to happen already!

How far out from surgery are you?!?!? Cause I’m (not so) patiently waiting for this moment!

The dr still hasn’t told me I can have caffeine yet. I did have my first decaf latte with skim milk and sugar free vanilla, the other day. It might have been the safest coffee I have ever had! 🤣

I will add protein powder to my Greek yogurt some times or will make a protein smoothie myself to drink as a snack, but I got burned out on the premade protein drinks during my liquid phase and pretty much have not been able to stomach one since. I do love protein water though and that helps. I think I’m averaging 60-80 grams a day, but I feel like the goal they gave me is unattainable right now. I should be moving to soft food soon and then I think it will help with I can include tuna and chicken.

I love that they gave you daily goals. I feel like the drs only gave me a protein goal and it’s 114 grams… and I’m still in the purée stage to needless to say, I am failing that every day. But everything I eat has high protein and I probably am getting about 60 grams a day, so your post made me feel better! I feel like my weight loss is super slow but at least it’s in the right direction and happening! I can’t wait to start getting rid of clothes that don’t fit!

I got to move to the purée stage so that’s amazing but still in my stall which sucks!

I might need to hide my scale too. I lost 9lbs pre-surgery and 11lbs the week after surgery, but this second week I haven’t really lost any weight. It’s frustrating and I know it’s just my body using all the calories and nutrients I’m giving it, but I’m eating so little that in my mind, it should just be flying off. I meet with my dietitian for the first time tomorrow and I’m hoping they will give me the green light to start purée! I cannot wait to add more variety!!

Thanks for posting! I just bought the gastric sleeve cookbook! I have my 2 week appt with the nutritionist on Friday and I cannot wait to start the purée stage! I am so tired of surviving on protein shakes!

    Vitamins - please share tips

What all vitamins and supplements does everyone take? I want to make sure I’m taking everything I need as I’m a new post-op. It sounds like: multivitamins with iron and calcium chews are the main ones. I have seen some people recommend L-glutamine and collagen, as well. Any help would be appreciated!

    Chewable Vitamins vs Swallowing

I’m so sorry you had complications. I hope things are going better now. I will take a chewable multivitamin today and see how it goes.

    Chewable Vitamins vs Swallowing

How soon after surgery did everyone start vitamins? I’m a week post op and am still dealing with antibiotics and other things the drs gave me. I was under the impression, that starting vitamins was good when you hit stage 2; yes or no? Also, what are everyone’s must have vitamins?

I don’t know if you are still interested or searching but I just had my sleeve done a week ago in Tijuana at LIMARP and they were amazingly wonderful! I’m happy to provide more info if still interested.

I am one week post op and I am struggling to sleep. I am normally a side sleeper so I think a lot of it is having to sleep on my back… and in socks, which I hate! Im doing good getting the fluids I need but I nervous to go back to work next week, because I feel like it will decrease. My biggest issues is that I’m so tired of the after taste of protein drinks! It makes me not want to drink any!
